I've only been a couple times but this is the type of gym you don't forget about. It's very clean, and organized, to put it another way : doesn't smell like the gym. The location is great, right by a food plaza to grab a snack after and most importantly the parking is great and spacious. I took a biking class which was interactive, the instructor walked around and helped out. I also used the sauna and the locker area. Overall, very luxurious yet it's more than just looks as its amenities are useful. Definitely the type of place where you get the bang for your buck. It's a great gym but the amenities pale in comparison to the other SoCal Lifetime gyms. Everything is just smaller. I highly recommend that if it's within your driving distance you go to the Laguna Niguel location. Plus the parking validation doesn't help. I wanted to work out upstairs, swim laps, do some work in the lounge, and then enjoy some of the amenities (steam room, sauna, etc). But you have to pay for parking after 3 hours. For the record the wall clocks in this building are behind. I was waiting outside as it was my first time trying this location. There comes a point where you can stop adding new items. One studio is now full of Pilates reformers (fine whatever) and now the other studio has a passcode lock on it? I specifically come at non-class times so I can stretch in peace without a million eyes on me. The designated stretching area on the lower weight floor (if you can even call it that) is full of equipment and essentially a walkway to access the rest of the gym. I'm sure I won't be the only person super annoyed by the removal of access from this room. read more

Considering how expensive the membership is, it's ridiculous that you can't even get a full workout without waiting or competing for machines. Been going to Life Time since its grand opening and it has been a positive experience overall. Front staff always say hello and call you by your name. I've used every facility this club has to offer! Gym area: Not the biggest, but enough equipment that I never have to wait! Squat racks are plentiful. My biggest complain is how much room the basketball court takes. Life Cafe: Food is decent. Pricey for what it is, but nice that I can go grab a quick and healthy snack if needed. Kidsclub: My 2 year old absolutely loves coming to the Kidsclub. The front staff have always been friendly and patient with my son. My only complaint is that they do not call when my son has a poopy diaper. I've picked him up on some occasions where it's been obvious it has been sitting there for a bit. Hopefully staff improves in this area. No one like playing around with a smelly diaper. LifeSpa: Easy scheduling through app. I've had a massage, facial, haircut, hair color. All positive experiences, except for that one time where my massage therapist got scheduled to take her lunch at the same time my appointment was. Not sure how they messed that up, but I got a call from management apologizing. I was annoyed. Pool: Love the lounge chairs. I'm not really a pool person, so I don't get in the water. But the times I've put my feet in, pool is at a comfortable temperature. Pool bar is slow. Hopefully it gets better with time. Classes: Have yet to take a class. But they look fun and easy to schedule. My biggest complaint about Life Time is the parking situation. Parking has never been an issue, but the walk can be a little too far. I could complain more, but I really look at it as my cardio. I skip the treadmills! Overall, I'm happy to be a member at Life Time. Is it pricey? Yes. Had knee pain on top of the patella from playing too much tennis on a Saturday. Scheduled a consultation with Nick Zomaya Monday AM to evaluate the cause of the pain. The following day, after an hour session including massage, stretching, and resistance work, the pain magically went away right after the session. I was initially sold by the new equipment and large square footage of the club, however the crowds lately have brought this once 5 star gym to a mere 3. Monday evenings and Saturday mornings are times to avoid, think 405 traffic on a Friday night. You can't have a machine to yourself for more than 5 minutes without having someone hover over you asking how many sets you have left or if they can work in with you. Today, I almost knocked this girl out on her noise canceling headphones walking on cloud nine while doing seated flys due to crowding, no one is safe. Also finding an open locker has been a struggle and the once pristine changing area has become a wreck and needs more maintenance attention during peak hours. Still, most likely the nicest gym in OC. Amenities are good, never had issues with towel service. They recently changed out their shampoo/conditioner/body wash which I like much better (pic) That being said, I also not a fan the layout of the space which lacks accessibility from locker to weight area without running through a basketball tournament or waiting for a slow elevator. I do really like that their flexible operating hours 4am - 12am and often find it very clean closer to open and close. However I am slowly wondering if all these cons start adding up, I might be better off at equinox which has NO PARKING time limit and limits guest access to two a year. Sometimes I go to Laguna Niguel which has massage chairs, larger wet and dry sauna, and no parking restrictions. Is this a guest membership issue? Also why is the weight area only like 5% of the entire club? Maybe an outdoor weight area by the pool might be a solve like equinox's rooftop. The "beach club" is often vacant anyways read more

A little update here! I will admit I was wrong. Life Time is a great gym in OC. I learned that if you want to spend more than three hours at the gym, just ask the front desk for a pre-validated ticket. In fact, one of the front desk guys saw me come in so much that he gave me a fat stack of them lol The staff here is very friendly and awesome. They will remember your name! I am primarily giving the 5 stars because of the people who work here. The service here is awesome. The pool area is amazing. With the cabanas and sun tanning recliners. The hot tub is at the perfect heat, same with the pool. Better than most hotels I've stayed at. The classes and instructors are pretty great as well. Definitely on par with any other fitness boutique studio in OC. To be honest, if you come in the afternoon or during an off peak hour, this place is amazing. I actually really love the layout of the strength training floor, so much equipment. I especially love the Alpha training area across the turf, where there's a ton of squat racks, kettlebells and dumbbells. A nice place to focus in away from the hustle and bustle of the weight floor. The hours are awesome. Equinox doesn't open until midnight like Life Time and that's when it's the most peaceful. I've especially fallen in love with the sauna and steam room. Although the only downside is the smell is still awful in the men's steam room. The Eucalyptus scent comes and goes. Fix it up! read more

It's evident helping others is at the heart of everything he does. It's very easy to connect with him and he's gone above and beyond to really get to know my husband and I. I always feel like I've left everything on the floor after his Alpha Conditioning class. EDIT: I finished my onboarding yesterday, and I was quite surprised at how useful it was for me. Admittedly, I was a little annoyed that I had to make special arrangements in my schedule to make time for it (I work unusual hours, and even though the onboarding is advertised as an "invitation," the reality is that it is required, or else they will cancel your membership). I entered the meeting leery that they were trying to "upsell" their expensive services, but when I met with the trainer, he was was extremely courteous and respectful of my time and boundaries. When I stipulated that I need financial transparency, he promptly provided me the information without beating around the bush (as many independent coaches do), and even though I was clear that the schedule would not align, he left the door open for the future. So, even though I felt slightly inconvenienced by this required onboarding, I still had a good experience, and my rating of Life Time is still 5 stars. Even though the price is $300/month, I think that it is worth every dime. I used to pay $50/month to go to LA Fitness, and even though the price is six times as much, it is well worth it to me because: 1. The facilities are always clean, so it means that I would be less likely to get sick from being around other people. There is always an attendant keeping the showers and locker room clean. 2. Equipment is abundant, so I never have had to wait for someone to finish using a bench or machine. (And I never feel like I'm being pressured when someone is waiting at the side for me to finish.) 3. Staff is incredibly friendly, and they always greet us with a smile. They are also transparent about their prices, so I never feel like I am being hit with hidden fees. 4. Patrons are super friendly, and I have never seen anyone act rudely or immaturely. 5. The club is beautiful, like a luxury hotel with a modern aesthetic. 6. The sauna is serene, and it has never been super crowded. 7. Massages are also available at an additional cost, and prices look very comparable to those that I see at Irvine Spa (the Korean spa in town). 8. Although it is not a 24 hour gym, it is open until midnight so that even after I leave work at 8pm (I work unusual hours) I could still get in a work out and still have time to shower, unwind in the sauna, and complete my skincare routine. Because my expectations were incredibly high, this club meets them. However, there are some minor criticisms that we should be aware of. 1. The parking lot is a decent walk away. We have to park in the structure, then walk downstairs, then about 5 minutes to get to the door. (But it makes sense because the view from the weight room is gorgeous -- no cars or traffic in sight!) 2. If you are in a hurry to work out and be on your way, this is not the right place for it. This is the kind of place where you unplug from the world and take your sweet time as you exercise and rejuvenate. 3. If you are a serious athlete preparing for competition, this is probably not the right place for you. This is not a place to grind, but it's a place for health and leisure. 4. This is not a place for CrossFit, acrobatics, gymnastics, boxing, martial arts, or other niche sports. The facilities are just not set up for that. Even though I was reluctant to sign up, I was so glad that I did. I have been going to the club every day since I joined, so it was really only $10/day to lift my mood and help me shed some calories. Today I went to Life Time to take a class. I couldn't complete the class because of a minor injury I caused to my lats yesterday going to heavy on the shoulder press. A trainer by the name of Teo saw me walking funny and came over to check on me. When I told him where I was feeling the pain he offered to assist me and found out that I had torn a ligament along side of my latissimus dorsi. He propped me up on the stretch bed used some magic tool and cream and minutes he had my back feeling amazing! I was able to walk faster and now I can move and bend my back which I couldn't even do at all earlier. I wanted to update my review based on the latest experiences. The management team definitely is listening to and acting on our feedback. For Alpha Strength, they've outlined how they're going to promote the class to bring awareness to the class and to the benefits of olympic lifting. They also brought back another strength class, Lift Barbell, which is a great workout! Imagine doing a full-body workout for an hour and doing 800 repetitions! :) My suggestion for members (new and old) is to not be shy. Share your thoughts and let the team know which classes you love. I don't love the open basketball court, but it's not a deal breaker. They should step it up and add cold eucalyptus towels, better razors, face wash, and little disposable cups for the mouthwash. One Word: Teo. Teo is a RECOVERY MASTER! If you're serious about training, then you should be equally serious about recovery. I've been training really hard with Shahin for the past 3 weeks. I train 3x a week with my trainer and the rest of the days, I train on my own. I will admit that I have never really focused on recovery as much as I should. This is why I always end up getting injured and halting my progress. Insert Teo. Last week, I had a hip impingement that was so bad I couldn't even tie my shoe, squat or do any hinge movement without wincing in pain. On Tuesday, Shahin cut our workout short, brought me over to Teo, and asked him to "fix me". Teo has a heightened ability to pinpoint imbalances and areas of pain within the body. He spent an hour working on my hip, my groin, my quad and my hamstring. Once we finished, I felt a huge release of the pain I was holding, leaving me sobbing as I got off of his table. I hugged Teo, thanked him for helping me and went on my way feeling so much better. The pinch in my groin was not completely gone, but pain reduced by 75%. The next day when I showed up for training, Teo asked me to get on the table, stating that he knew exactly what the issue was. He then stretched my quad in such a way that there was a palpable release from my hip. I got off the table and the pinch at my groin was completely gone! The tightness in my quads, gone! The tightness around my knees, gone! Teo is a miracle worker. If you have ANY sign of pain in your body or just want to recover faster, GO SEE HIM IMMEDIATELY! read more
