I have had a good experience at Life Time. I've been a member since June. Yes the parking sucks but i just count it as my warm up and I love that they've got an abundance of EV chargers on the 4th floor. Plan your workout and recovery accordingly as there is a 3 hour validation m-f. On weekends the parking structure is open without gate/validation. Shout out to Katie, Cassie and my trainer Cassaundra. Keeping me motivated with their classes and allowing me to stay consistent with coming to the gym. 4-6 pm ish can be a bit crowded, but compared to other big box gyms def less. There's a lot of open spaces to do workouts, whether it's cardio, free weights, machine weights, barbells, or a combo. The sauna is gender specific in lockers, not shared like 24. There's both dry and steam sauna. I primarily use the dry sauna post workout. Dry sauna has been clean and well maintained at least on my experience; I use it probably 3-5x a week; early to later in evenings. Overall great gym, totally recommend. read more

Great clean club with awesome equipment. The classes so far are just awesome with great instructors like Amanda, Kristin, Ari, Isaiah and Carmen. Also the staff (Celena, Elvis), the entire cafe crew, and personal trainers (shane and darby) are so helpful and professional. The beach club swim area staff are always smiling and helpful with outdoor food and drinks - a very good vibe). So far so good. And just 2 blocks from where I live. Also love the fact that I can use all other Life time clubs (e.g. Las Vegas 2 locations). And no need to pay $300 to $500 for Wework co-working space anymore since the cafeteria area here is perfect as a co-working office to get things done. This is my happy place. Great classes, clean facilities and centrally located. The kids facilities are great and they even do events for kids regularly. Without the family friendly environment I wouldn't be able to workout so regularly so this place is a life saver. My only complaint is that people film themselves in the locker room or talk on FaceTime. Seriously that's weird. People are getting changed. If they can figure out how to fix that odd behavior from some of the patrons there would be no negatives. read more

Parents with toddlers please beware of the Kids Academy inside the Life Time Gym! #Child Endangerment My husband convinced me to join the gym membership along with both of my toddlers (4 years 2months old and 2 years old) that $300 for 1 adult +$100 for spouse +$75 per kids. EVERYTHING was perfect for the family. Until the recent incident on 10/14 at 6:40pm. We got the call from the Kids Academy staff regarding my son's aggressive behavior involving a 6 years old kid! The whole story was 2 boys around 6 years old was chasing around in the common room with young toddlers age (1-4 years old). The staff did not stop the kids from chasing around. They watched. My son saw and got excited and of course he joined the chase. Then the staff decided to call my son's name and tell him no, like that ever worked with a 3-4 years old toddler who doesn't know any better! Yes the chase escalated into an incident as one of the kid slip on paper and fell, my son imitate the kid and fell on purpose onto the kid thinking it's a play and it's fun! Yes the staff watched and get involved right away when the incident happened and they describe my son 's behavior as aggressive. Seriously, you as an "experienced" care giver of young kids should had known not to allow the chase in the first place, young toddlers is only going to imitate and not know any better. WOW ANY EXPERIENCED ADULT would know not to allow kids 6years old to run around that fast with young toddlers 1-4 were in the same room. Good thing the kid didn't fell or trip on any young toddlers in the room. My kids been going to Preschool for 2 years and he had no aggressive behavior under proper supervision. Yet when he goes to Kids Academy at Lifetime, aggressive behavior here and there And yes today 10/15 we went to speak with the Kids Academy manger Elizabeth, who refused to take any responsibility for her staff's incapability to manage kids and toddler in the room, stressing that they are "experienced". So easily blaming the fault onto a toddler when the adult was incapable or maybe not even qualify to look after both kids and young toddlers at the same time. So by the way they can suspend the kids from the academy, penalizing the kids, not just a day or two. 3 Days first, then 7 DAYS!!! LOLLLLLLLLL WOW She stressed she's only penalizing my son. YAY!!! So I'm paying $550 for the whole family a month. My son can't go, I can't go, my daughter can't go! WHAT A SCAM!!! Yes!! I canceled my membership today. Im a nobody so the Kids Academy manager didn't care, but it's okay, there's ppl who will care about child endangerment seriously and investigate! ******* After filling the complaint with CCIB, only to find out that they are exempt from license! No wonder my son keeps getting suspended from their place as the "experienced" staffs looking after young toddlers and kids are not qualified to managed young toddlers!! And putting the young toddlers in danger, while allowing older kids to chase around! I've been holding off on leaving a bad review in hopes that things would get better but after going to this gym for a year it continues to go downhill. It is so crowded at all hours of the day that they have implemented a waitlist which is only making the crowding worse because it's replacing members who no longer go to the gym with members who want to be there 24/7. People literally setup desktop computers and work from there all day long. I can only imagine how bad it will be come January. Although there are rules for the gym, they are not enforced. People are constantly recording both inside the locker room and outside so expect to be in the background of someone's video. People are doing nude yoga inside the sauna which is disgusting when you're sitting so close by. People are completely nude in the jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room and those that do have towels leave them everywhere. People talk loudly on the phone for extended periods of time in all areas of the gym. The locker room attendants are cleaning 24/7 but the patrons at Lifetime are so entitled and dirty that it doesn't feel clean. The locker rooms smell like sewage when you run the bathroom sinks. The parking garage is also dirty and packed and if you misplace your parking ticket you're out of luck and have to pay the day rate. Although the staff is friendly, what was once a great location has become a glorified 24HR fitness with no signs of positive change in sight. read more

I joined this gym around April of this year, and at first it was really nice coming here due to it never really being too busy/open weights, all the amenities. I only come late at night now since that's when it's the least busiest or mornings when I have my Pilates class. Even weekday mornings can be busy. I recently decided to try the Pilates classes and I'm taking them with instructor Prince. He makes you feel welcomed and his classes run smoothly and are challenging enough to make me want to come back. It's also a small class that can range from 2-5 people so he is able to pay close attention to each one of us and gives us pointers as we perform the movements. Although the price of $40 a session is costly. The gym is beautiful and I love the work space that is available as I tend to do my homework here sometimes. One of the biggest downside would be the parking. I think you can ask the front desk for a validating parking pass if you stay over three hours, but if you don't or forget to ask you will be charged. I had came one night to do my homework, workout, and then shower. I had to pay $5 because I stayed for 3 hours and 16 minutes. Oh well, I pay close to $600 a month for a pass (which includes Pilates sold separately and costa more than the membership itself...) to not be able to leisure with unlimited time in here. That sucks! I'm looking into other gyms as I do not find the price point worth it anymore. read more

Sierra & Demil are the best!! They work at the cafe are some of the friendliest people around. Their cafe is one thousand times better than Equinox across the street. Everyone is super friendly and makes you feel welcomed every time you step into the club. Another key difference are the classes. If you do classes throughout the week, the price for the membership is a steal. It's as if you are getting personal training - most classes have smaller group sizes so it's more personable. Plus they actually have hot yoga here compared to Equinox. Everything is premium, new and modern at this club. You are actually receiving the value for what you pay with every amenity, class, cafe experience, & overall feel. Couldn't recommend more. read more

Not great at this lifetime as the others. Parking is not great... They are getting so over priced it's out of hand. They have big nice gyms but is it worth 5 times the price of others? I think if you have 3 hours a day to spend here it may be worth it but for anyone that is just trying to get a work out in and get back to work and family. If you're looking to expand your knowledge on overall health and fitness there's one guy here you absolutely have to talk to and thats the man Teo. This guy really knows his stuff but the best thing about Teo is his unique ability to explain everything to you in a way you'll understand. I left our conversation feeling like an expert and I couldn't help ain't to share everything I learned with my roommates. I appreciate a business that focuses on customer service. The vibes are country club meets fitness. Since this place is fairly new, the facility is beautiful and pristine. I love that they have several different areas of weights so people are actually spread out a little bit. They have 9 barbell stations which I've never seen at a gym before. They have plenty of functional equipment as well like weighted balls, jump ropes, foam rollers, stability balls etc and an area to use them. read more

First time visiting OC lifetime with a friend and had a session with Teo. It was absolutely life changing after my ultramarathon. My leg and hips were tight, but Teo was professional and addressed the physical needs as necessary. I will highly recommend anyone who has to be adjusted or stretched out to book a session with him as you will not regret it. I am no longer in pain from my race due to Teo. read more

The parking situation is absolutely terrible. There was a 15 min line to get out of the place today. It was very frustrating and ruins what is a very good gym. The distance of the garage isn't a big deal, your going to a gym to be active... but to be stuck in line to get out of the place is unacceptable. I don't normally comment on other posts... but I feel obliged to say: do NOT pay too much attention to those 1 star reviews. I have ZERO affiliation with Lifetime other than the fact that I cancelled equinox, and purchased Lifetime memberships for my wife and our 3 year old. The staff have all been nothing short of attentive. Someone said the front desk seem "uninterested" in them. A) they say hello by name to almost everyone who comes in. 2) They've been more than helpful to answer questions and help in any way they can. Childcare: LA fitness childcare was garbage.. I've read about parents going to pick up their kid and there isn't a childcare person at the desk or even i the area! Equinox: no childcare. Lifetime: a TON of space dedicated to child care. Incredible staff. Activities galore. Bistro/Bar: great service. Good food. The bartender Matt? The guy is quick, he pours a good drink, and when it comes to customer experience, he gets it. Equipment/Classes/cleanliness: All I have to say is that I came here when it was still 24 hour fitness, I've been with equinox, and LA fitness signature... NONE are as clean, nice, or as well equipped as this place. read more

Love this place! Has every machine and amenity you can think of. It is very clean and almost everyone is friendly. Free parking up to 3 hours on weekdays and free all day on the weekends. Plenty of parking in the garage. Very clean and spacious. Nice cafe inside and places to work. I enjoyed taking Alpha class with Katy and also a hot yoga class. He was very knowledgeable. I signed up for this gym while I was on vacation and didn't get to visit until I came home. I used to come here when it was a 24 Hour Fitness and the location is perfect. My first time actually visiting the gym was a week ago. I told the guy at the front desk that it was my first time there and that I had never been inside of the gym. He checked me in and made sure I got my ticket validated. He failed to offer me a tour of the place. Now, I'm not going to make a huge deal over it, but I am knocking off one star for that. I've visited the gym almost every single day since and at different times. The people that come here are laser focused on working out. There's not a lot of time spent socializing or watching people scroll through their phones as they take up time on a piece of equipment you might need. I absolutely love that. The people are also super kind and respectful of one another. Today I took my first class in the early morning and it kicked my butt. The instructor was incredibly good and I'm definitely signing up for more classes. I haven't worked out in over 3 years and I feel so welcome here. I don't feel any judgement from the staff or from the people who also work out here. My office in Irvine shares the parking structure with Equinox and I've been offered a discount to go there. I'm glad I chose here instead. I'm not sure why there are so many 1 star reviews for this place. My personal experience here so far has been amazing and it's encouraged me to continue on with my fitness journey! read more

You can't even hear yourself think with the basketballs going all day. You would think for an upper class gym that they would've at least surrounded it with glass so we didn't have to hear it the whole time and actually have a peaceful work out not to mention the group class upstairs , takes the best place for a girl to work on her butt and not feel weird. there's plenty of studio rooms to put the classes in ( that never have classes going) but they continue to put them in open spaces in front of the cardio equipment where that's the only place to do abs because there's always another class going on upstairs. The actual weight room is maybe 1/6 of the total gym and is always crowded. Basically the 24 got a paint job. It also really seems to be geared towards child care... kids everywhere they even shut down parts of the gym for them to have activities. Also, I get the same protein shake every single day and I have some many different locations and it always ends up being different so obviously the macros are off in the shake that I paid $13 for.. read more

So guys, firstly, we love this gym. However before this recent occurrence, I would've given Lifetime-Irvine five stars but that's now controversial...I'm very curious to know how many committed paying members here have had to show their birth certificates & marriage certificates because it honestly feels like an odd request for such personal info from a personnel, would love to know if this is kosher and it's 100% Lifetime protocol? I had really high hopes going into this gym but immediately as I entered the door I felt discomfort by the staff. The profiling starts immediately I was looked up and down by the front desk like I wasn't worthy. If you don't look like the standard OC person you're judged. I love children, but not at my gym. I've been coming to this beautiful pool for over 20 years when it was 24 Hour fitness. I met my husband here. It has been a wonderful, peaceful place for me to swim and enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi. Now there are toddlers in the jacuzzi splashing water in my face. Parents "supervising" their young children in the pool from the jacuzzi!!! This is so unsafe. Babies in diapers with no bowel control in the pool. Children yelling! No staff around to monitor this or stop it. I'm so sad! It's literally torture at times to come. read more

Fairly new member to Lifetime Fitness. So far it's been a great experience at this location. Wanted to give a shoutout to the Dynamic Personal Trainers Shay and Aria. They took me through a workout today was that excellent. Both trainers were friendly, encouraging, and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend either of them for training. As a member of Lifetime Athletic for the past several years, and having been at their Laguna Niguel location for over five years, my expectations had a standard. This location has proved to be a big disappointment. The so-called free parking has already cost me close to $300 for the year due to a simply poor parking operation. Yes I could go inside & ask them to deal with it, but what I really don't want to do is return to the gym at 11:30 PM every night because, damn it, I'm already working 14-hour days, & on top of that I'm sorting out parking charges that shouldn't have happened in the first place. The customer service there is greatly removed from the Lifetime culture I have been accustomed to. It may be in Lifetimes best interest to move some of the more experienced managers from more mature facilities to newer ones as stepping stones to keep customer service stable so when new managers get in and on their feet, they will have a sound understanding of the company's service needs and expectation. Currently, the overpriced membership fees at this facility are not properly marketing the membership and, therefore, what should be something good for my family and me--has turned into a status symbol that honestly confers very little real benefit. I will post this anonymously, due to not causing conflict of interest & controversy within my own company & to add a bit more of truth and credibility, with the hope that if I write a follow up review something might have changed. It's not some sort of smear attempt from your rival gym (as my previous reviews have been reported as); I am really, really at the end of the day, an unhappy customer, but more so a person. The irony of the name 'Lifetime' is lost with the corporation that doesn't seem to realize what we never get back is time in the course of life. As proprietor of transaction services in my firm dealing with up to billions of dollars of currencies daily, I have a special affinity towards transactional operational efficiency, and this is something sorely lacking at this company & facility. The irony is, even after so many pending charges they've sent to my card, there hasn't been any initiative to either clarify or fix these issues. It's not justifiable on the cost ground; it's about principles. How many more such costs are going to accumulate before someone wakes up? I understand it's not the budget gym and margins are something to consider, but really, this level of disregard is absolutely ridiculous. You pay a premium not to receive a premium service--in this case, far from it. Watch out for the space within 10-15 years: a brand that chases itself to ignore its foundational service ethics will come to regret it, and I think my experience here is not uncommon amongst customers. Lifetime Athletic should seriously change its strategy with this location compared to their other facilities. In all honesty, their other facilities are truly excellent. Experiencing this location not only seems discouraging but it really brings down the brand name. Makes me think twice about being a member of theirs. read more
