I don't leave reviews often, but I have been to gyms all over the country, for the last 22 years roughly, and this has been the best gym experience I've ever had. I love the golds in San Diego (simply because it's outside lol and San Diego), but this gym is the best I've been to. The equipment is top notch, in beautiful shape, there's lots of cardio, free weights, even oly platforms (my pref). There are countless yoga rooms, zoomba, pilates, you name it, they have 10 massage therapists on staff - which btw opens to the wet sauna w/ eucalyptus?! dry sauna and hot tub which is amazing! There are indoor and outdoor pools (sit by the pool in the sun, can't beat it!), a restaurant, protein smoothies.. Staff was knowledgeable, professional, friendly. I have been searching for a gym like this for a really long time. I have been an on again off again gym person for years. I've tried the cheaper routes but then ended up not going. My husband was very skeptical about the price tag. But even he admits now that it is totally worth it for me. I go consistently now and I am so much happier because of it. EVERY workout class I go to is wonderful. The staff is knowledgable and kind. Honestly for the amazing amount of classes this is a steal compared to other cycle or yoga studios in the area. The layout area is amazing and resort style. The pool is small but great for kids. I don't have kids and the amount of kids does not bother me at all. I am very surprised about the bad reviews. Top notch facility. Joined this place months before they even opened up as it was a no brainer for me. I don't do a lot of classes, so I can't comment on the those, except the fact they do seem to offer a lot of them. The times of some of them are off, as I would like to try some, but not many evening or late afternoon classes that would appeal to the average male. Anyway, very well kept and modern. Love the cafe and overall vibe of the place. So much space. Even when the parking lot is packed, it's never crazy inside since everyone is so spread out. Moved from Austin, TX where I was paying $80 per month for a Gold club level facility which is nicer than the one in Franklin. Of course, some greedy corporate execs decided that just because Franklin has has a higher household income than Austin, TX that this facility in Franklin would be classified as an Onyx level facility. If you travel around the country you can see for yourself that this Franklin facility isn't on par with other Onyx level facilities. It's a Gold level facility. What does this mean to you? You're paying $40 per month more (almost $500 more per year) for nothing. The Onyx level classification of the Franklin facility is "scammy" at best. read more

It's what you would expect. It's just like Globo Gym from the movie dodgeball. It's bigger, nicer, and has enough lights to light up Manhattan. Only issue is that it's $250 for 3 people. For those 3 people total you only get 2 times a month that you can bring a guest. So if you ever have multiple friends or family coming in a short period of time, make sure to cancel your membership because Lifetime is way to big to adjust to your needs (even though you're paying 2x as much as other leading gyms). My younger brother who is 16 years old, brought a guest tonight that is 17 years old, independent and about to graduate HS this year. I've done this before with his friend, and it wasn't a problem. But in order for him to be allowed entrance, he had to get electronic permission from his mother working in Italy. I thought she was joking. Then through many tries, my brothers friend couldn't get ahold of his mother. So he had his sister do the form and send it to him, which got him in with flying colors. So clearly that form that she made seem like life depended on was very well checked. We finally got him in 15 minutes later thinking the circus was over and we could go enjoy the completely empty basketball court. We played a couple of games of 2-2 and got a workout in. No problem. Cash money all day. I'm then packed up and walking out about a hour and a half later and I'm now not allowed to leave until my brothers guest leaves?! I say "there's no way that's a thing", she tells me with anattitude that it is. Well the thing is he's not 4 years old. Do you want me to hold his hand to make sure he doesn't slip in the shower? Went to lifetime today to try it out they said I have to pay to get a try at this gym, I have worked in gym business in middle Tennessee for over 20 years and I have to say this is the first time I have been told I need to pay to workout to see if I want to join. I had the same experience as some previous members, I talked with someone on the phone about putting my account on hold during COVID. They told me it was an indefinite hold until we felt safe returning. I never received an email saying my account had been re-activated, but found out like many others that they had been billing my account without my knowledge or permission for months. When I asked about this, they basically said sorry about your luck, you can cancel now if you want. Sheisty scam they are running, and seems to me illegal to re-activate an account without permission. Horrible company, I would never join this place again. read more

I've been going to lifetime since they opened in Franklin. It has just gone down hill since then esp. around the pandemic. They offer some great options but frankly with them increasing the price after they closed their doors to the pandemic is just absurd. People have been without jobs or making less money and just trying to make it. If they truly cared about their community they wouldn't have increased their prices to cover their bottom dollar bc of the closure. The prices were already expensive to start. Now they have increased the membership to a point it's getting to be a financial burden then improving my health. Not only have they increased the price but they decreased a lot of the options they have offered when they first opened. They need to go back to the standard operating hours it was when they first opened. People have lives and not all can come during the current hours and end up getting their workout cut short bc of them closing at 9. They need to offer more then 1 membership and offer at different prices per how many days a week or decrease their price since they are delivering less services now since the pandemic. They are money hungry. Update: we've been taking our 2 kids to swim every morning on Saturday and Sunday for the last 2 months without a problem. They have both had swim lessons already and there are two adults with them in the pool at all times. Today we were kicked out by a pool staff member stating our children are not allowed to swim in the pool during morning hours.. even though we have been doing it for the last 2 months and not one staff member has said anything to us. We pay a hefty membership fee for four people for them to come and dictate that our children are not allowed to swim during morning hours because lifetime doesn't staff properly. I pay for the entire facility and should have access during all hours of operation for adults or children. There isn't value in the facility. Staff is disrespectful to paying customers. They are asking too much and offering very little. This gym is not a onyx level facility and shouldn't have this designation. If you are thinking about joining don't.. they are now charging new members an additional fee to use their outdoor pool now.. on top of your monthly membership which is already expensive. They are money hungry and keep increasing dues while taking away what they offer. read more

So, for a premier gym you get "mostly" what you'd expect. Highlights: plenty of cardio, plenty of trainer/class space, plenty of squat racks/machines*/free weights, and plenty of enthusiasm from ALL staff. The indoor pools are great, the outdoor pool area is fabulous, the lounge space is cozy (if you're into that). The locker room has plenty of lockers, showers, towels, soaps/shampoos, razors, Q-Tips, toilets, and a sauna, hot tub and steam room. Low points: locker room - the lockers suck! Correction, the dial your code locking system sucks & fails religiously; you have to get staff to unlock your locker by using a wall phone that seems to be broken most of the time. The water pressure in the showers is super lame. You get complimentary soap/shampoo/conditioner in each shower but the water pressure is so bad you stand there for several minutes just trying to get the soap off. As for the gym, it baffles me that there is only 1 leg press machine*. You have multiple machines for curling, lat pull downs, various chest exercises, etc...but only one leg press machine? I'd give this gym 5 stars if it wasn't for those few low points, and while it seems excessive to rate so low for just a few items, when you are the premier club in the area, and you charge top dollar, you really need to be on point with this stuff. Hi. I have been a member almost a year and I find this place the best club in the area, the club is huge with many members with different demands. Club is well maintained, hires well behaved, caring staff who always go out of their ways to take care of members. It is nice to have mini cafe in the club to feed children and Adults I am thankful their employees follow good food handling and they are vey nice and mostly organized. For the most part not one person wipes down the equipment after they use it. I've seen greasy and sweaty spots on equipment and The few places that are available to get wipes are dry. Simply nasty. Classes are over full. A class I attended was so full they ran out of floor mats and weights. I was told I could just lay on the floor. Next class was scheduled to start at 11:05 and when I arrived to take The class at 10:50 the class had already started and again over full. You Have to pay to take some classes in addition to your monthly fees. Needless to say I will not be renewing. read more

I generally like the club, very modern looking with a lot of equipment, plenty of space, 2 basketball courts, massages, etc. It's close to my house so it makes it a breeze to get to and get in my workout. If you don't like kids, this is definitely not the place to be. They're everywhere. I signed up for a few sessions of personal training and after 2 decided that it wasn't for me, at least not for now. Make it stop! They won't stop bugging me to come back for more sessions. This is a beautiful facility with so much to offer their members. There is a great availability of classes and the pools are beautiful! I'm really pretty shocked to see negative reviews of this gym. I can't and won't discount anyone else's experience, but I can share my own. Wen this gym first opened, I inquired about price. We were members of a local, religious organization's city-wide gym, and hearing the price of Life Time was nothing short of shocking! It was out of the question at the time. Fast forward half a year or so, friends just raved at a get-together about how wonderful Life Time is. We'd recently had more than one unpleasant experiences at our gym, and I decided it was time to check it out. If it wasn't for us, at least we'd get a day's workout for free for taking the tour, right? Also - I'd love to preface my review with this: we are not what people may think of as your "typical" Brentwood or "luxury gym" people. I was not wearing - I do not own - "lulu lemon" clothing. I am not a super fit spandex-wearing trophy wife. I'm generally wearing leggings with a funny pattern or a witty shirt from Walmart to the gym. The price tag of this gym reflects the amenities, and I don't have any weird hangups about not feeling "cool" or "snobby" enough for a gym. I digress. We went for our tour while both kids were in school so we could really pay attention to the amenities. Honestly, my mind was totally blown. This really is a "luxury" gym. We decided that day to join Life Time and although it's only been a couple of weeks, I can say at this time that it was TOTALLY worth it and I wish we'd joined before. I'll go on record to say that it's so nice, and feels like such a good fit for us, that I would drive Uber a couple of days a week to earn extra money, if need be. First and foremost, my kids. I have one school-age and one preschool. In order for me to have a good workout, and be comfortable, to relax in yoga, for example, I need to know that my kids are being taken care of, and that they're (reasonably) happy with their environment. Life Time has an absolutely incredible indoor playground, and actually provides classes throughout the day that kids can attend in their age groups. I love that my 4- and 6-year old can attend together. We've actually started scheduling our gym trips around the kids' classes! Because we can work out anytime. The employees seem to be happy and involved with the children. When we drop in, there is always at least one employee down in the floor with a group of children. I'm pretty picky about the kids' environment wherever I go, and I'm impressed with Life Time. It's obvious that with the high ticket of admission, they're hiring people that care about what they're doing. As far as being crowded, I haven't experienced that. I think we don't go during "peak gym times;" since we both work from home, we can go any time, and usually choose to go about 10:00 to noon. But I would imagine that any gym has a very crowded time, and can't imagine that's shocking to new members. Life Time has your usual areas for fitness - free weights, machines, treadmill/elliptical, this weird contraption that Bootcamp uses that I totally cannot figure out, etc. The piece de resistance really is the yoga wing - two classrooms separated by a door and hallway from the fitness area (and next to a "quiet" area and not free weights, which is great). Each has its own HVAC unit so it can be heated for those heated yoga classes I've always referred to as "crazy." And - whereas our previous gym locked the doors to the classrooms between classes - at Life Time, if no class is going on, you're welcome to do your own thing. I love having a nice quiet place to do some yoga privately mid-day. That just can't be beat. The cafe serves absolutely delicious food for a reasonable price. Ready meals, salads, shakes or smoothies, even a burger if you're in a meaty mood. I love the cafe environment and often take my laptop to work for half an hour while my husband finishes up his workout. The locker room is stocked with deodorant, feminine hygiene items, etc. and has a door directly to the spa. Oh, I hadn't mentioned the spa? Yes. There is a spa. The services are pricey, but the convenience of having a manicure, haircut, or massage while your husband works out or your kids are in reliable childcare will probably pay for itself as a rare treat. There is a large hot tub in the indoor pool, and a smaller one in the women's locker room by the sauna. And there are chairs by the hot tub so if you'd just like to sit in the warm steamy environment for a few minutes, you can do that. The employees are friendly and congenial. My kids love the classes and are well cared for. My husband is happy with the fitness equipment. I have a quiet place to do yoga. Yes, it's more money than we expected to spend. Yes, it's more than our previous gym. But for our family, it's an excellent fit, and worth every penny. read more

I don't even play basketball but the decision to rip out an entire basketball court to create a pickle ball court was stupid and a horrible decision. A huge perk of the membership is being able to have access to the basketball courts, which are already very popular and is a struggle to find an open court. I know because I see people walking past all the time looking to find an open one. It makes it enjoyable now that there's only one court with 15-20 people on it. Like what? You replaced an entire basketball court with something that's a fad and hardly anyone does. Why? People are just annoyed and mad now, may even result in people stopping their memberships because you've now taken away a huge perk and selling point of the gym. A better way to go about this was at least having a survey put out for current members if they would even want this change to happen. I guarantee over 90% would've said no read more

We just starting using this "gym" with us (husband and wife) and our 3 kids 4 and under. We love it! Staff is amazing, facility is insanely nice, and the place is massive. We love the pool for the kids indoors during winter to keep their swimming skills moving forward, the food is great, sauna for the men is awesome and once my husbands shoulder is recovered from surgery, he's excited to get back into lifting weights. I'll start by saying the only reason they get 2 stars is because of the facility itself. The people who work here leave much to be desired. 95% of the time, the people that check you in are pretty good. Once you walk past the desk, it gets terrible especially the instructors. Nicole and Thad are the best examples of workers that will walk past you, move around you or even bump into you without acknowledging your presence. They aren't the only ones, just the worst ones. Sad that we would expect that after paying the quite hefty monthly fee. I would also expect the machines would be cleaned more regularly as I can see dried sweat and body fluids on machines early in the morning. read more

My wife and I have been members of several fitness facilities over many years. We have enjoyed them for various reasons. When we heard that LifeTime was coming to Franklin, TN., we signed up for an early Founders introduction. We saw what the potential was, what the facility would be like and had great hopes for a great experience. We HAVE NOT been disappointed. We are now Founders Members and we're there 3 to 5 days each week. You get what you pay for and the dollars we spend for what we get are worth it. Great staff, great facility and I've never been treated any other way but with respect from the staff on each visit. Keep up the great work LifeTime - Franklin. We're big fans! read more

We went to check this place out and give it a try... we wish we hadn't. The facility is beautiful and new, so will give them that. However, a $35/day charge in lieu of a guest pass to try the facilities out for the first time is absurd. The staff was rude an unaccommodating. If you want to feel 'exclusive' and 'trendy' this place is for you. The snobbery was much more than we experience at our Equinox where we live part of the year, which is far and above a better gym. If you want to get a great workout and not be nickel and dimed, go up the road to Prairie Life, you'll be much happier and treated considerably better. This place will need to change in order to attract the locals that aren't interested in the glitz and glam (and costs!), especially when it isn't backed up with a great workout experience. My first experience was trying to get a much needed massage at the spa for a painful muscle strain. I arrived 10min before my spa time. I was told on the phone that my masseuse wold be Chelsea. I gave my first name and her name at the spa desk. I was told she had a massage with some one and I didn't have a massage booked. Clearly they had adjusted the schedule and I no longer was booked with the originally assigned masseuse. I asked again to make sure I wasn't booked. Again I was told no, not booked. Thinking it was my fault, I had the wrong day?, I left. 15 minutes later, THE SAME PERSON I spoke to in person ( the spa manager), called and left a message saying I was late for my massage and they had a 24 hr cancelation policy. The message truly sounded as if she was clueless that I had just stood in front of her minutes earlier and talked to her about my massage!!! I called her back, only to be told that it was my fault, I didn't give her my last name, I told her the wrong masseuse name (which they had changed on me) and I thought it could be another day so she never looked into when my massage was and on and on. I asked if I would be charged for the massage. She laughed at me and said 'no, we won't charge you'. Great! Management that can't check-in a guest properly, masseuse changed on me, clueless they ever talked to you, client is wrong (after showing up on time) and laugh at your questions! We joined Lifetime about three months ago, and we were not gym people previously. It really has changed the dynamic of how we spend family time. It gives my husband and I time together to work out (we've already each lost 10lbs) while the kids can play in the center. The facilities are nothing short of luxurious, the showers, the amenities. The pools are great and the swim lessons really well organized. Everyone is friendly and there are folks of all sizes and fitness levels. I think the cost of you use it regularly is well worth it. read more

Life Time is a great place to workout. Maybe not for everyone, it's clean, the staff is great and there is plenty of equipment. So far sounds pretty good right. My family and I recently moved to Franklin from a small town and were excited to have access to a gym with so many amenities (fitness classes, pool, child care, spa, sauna, steam room...etc.). We have been members at Lifetime since March 2019. Unfortunately we have been highly disappointed with the club. There is obvious overcrowding issues-- it is virtually impossible to find a bench to do free weights on during the evening hours and if that isn't frustrating enough they hold paid fitness classes on the free floor space in the middle of the gym and take over the rowing machines. It is frustrating that any free space is being used up when there are tons of rooms that they could hold these classes in. That's not even the worst of it-- the first strike against the club: my husband got ringworm on his back from the benches/locker room...we kind of brushed this off because, it happens, right? Strike two: our one year old was bit in the face while she was in the child care center. Not like a little bite a HUGE bite where the other child obviously had time to attack my daughters face. Again...we let that go because kids are fast and wreck less. The third and final strike has set me over the limit and we will be cancelling our membership ASAP-- my 1 year old daughter contracted Hand Foot Mouth disease in their child care center. They sent out a note indicating that it had been reported but at this point it was too late for us. My daughter is covered in blisters and sores and this is Lifetimes responsibility. My 1 year old will be recovering from this for 7-10 days, the effects this has had on our day to day life are absolutely inexcusable. They claim they clean and sanitize their childcare area, they are lying. I will NEVER bring my child back to that facility and i will NEVER step foot in a Lifetime Fitness again. Do your self a favor and go elsewhere, you won't be disappointed and will pay MUCH less. read more

No consistency at front desk... My wife and 4yr old son are both members. I was added as a "Nanny" my first time here so that I can bring him to swim lessons. I get held up at the front desk about half the time when I let them know I am in the system for "Nanny" pass and I am here to bring him to swim lessons. Regardless of what I tell them, half the time they initiate the process of signing me up for a new "Nanny". This process requires ID check, filling out personal info and contact info and then finally getting the go ahead. Other times, They let me through because they can see my name in the system ... Be consistent! Don't hassle paying customers! read more

Why doesn't the management respond to the negative reviews with some type of answer or accommodation to fix the problem instead of hiding behind the positive reviews. That's not proper management they need a real leader in there to take charge and to fix problems and to make as many people as happy as possible not what they're doing now burying their head and hiding from it all doing nothing. If you were doing something about the excessive kids all over the place then say something and get it done don't just not answer that's really poor management. read more
