By spreading that volume throughout the week, rather than targeting singular muscle groups on certain days, you can train at a better standard without putting your body through unnecessary stress. I've had lotsa orthopedic injuries/surgeries. Each exercise can be modified for your ability . This means people of all levels can be in the same room together working to their full capability. That takes away the 'intimidation' factor for beginners, which is a beautiful thing. I'm a full figured 54-year old gal, so if I can do it, so can you !

The fixed, 45 minute duration of our workouts exists to provide a timing structure to maximize our members' growth and progress. Our daily workouts vary the amount of exercise stations, the Work Time / Rest Time ratio and the number of repetitions through the "Exercise Circuit" of each day. This provides a challenging workout for our clientele that is always evolving and never the same. More strength and confidence…read more I did the D1 28-day shred challenge because I was tired of making excuses to not start my fitness journey. I had googled many local gyms and D1 was the only one that felt different. I loved the variety of workouts and never got bored. The coaches were amazing and encouraged everyone in the class to push themselves, but also never hesitated to give modifications if I was struggling. At the end of 28 days, I am far from shredded but I am faster and stronger than before and more importantly, I have the discipline and motivation to keep going! -L. Daniel

DO NOT give your credit card to D1! They overcharged us (I believe purposely - see remaining for…read moreexplanation). The local manager, Jonathan Ladd, continuously lies about issuing credits. My intuition is that Jonathan is given an incentive such as a bonus or commission from corporate and relies on people not tracking the exact costs of what they should be paying. We are still owed money from months ago and when we approach Jonathan about it, we receive a very unprofessional snarky repose that he is "AS I TOLD YOU, I'm going to do it but it takes time" which is an outright lie because it has been over a month and he has issued some but not all credits that he admits is owed to us. Again, I believe he is playing this game to pad his numbers on other people's expense which is stealing and goes against their contract with their credit card processor. It's a shame because the program and the facility is great but Jonathan brings an awful stain on the organization.

CrossFit Talon is top notch. While I started my CrossFit journey at Talon, I frequently travel, so…read moreI have the benefit of visiting may different boxes (i.e., gyms). While there are many good CrossFit boxes out there, Talon excels in so many ways. Let me explain. 1. Talon can work with you at any level of fitness. Owners, Dennis and Tara, and their coaches have the deep experience and insight to help both individuals with rehabilitation needs as well as programming for elite level athletes. Dennis is not only a former CrossFit Games competitor and finalist, but he's trained others to achieve this level of success. His reputation as a leading coach and expert is well known, and even highly trained professionals in the field (e.g., physical therapists, etc.) seek out Dennis, Tara and the Talon team for opinions, insights and regularly attend their workouts and classes at Talon. Talon staff actively coach to your strengths and weaknesses and work with you to properly scale workouts as needed and maximize benefits without compromising your safety or health. 2. Talon consistently treats everyone (e.g., regular members, visitors, fire breathers, etc.) with courtesy and respect, no matter if you are just learning or are an elite level athlete. Talon is diverse in age, gender, race, etc. In addition to me (when I'm not traveling), my son and my wife both regularly attend workouts (e.g., Youth Performance, Olympic Lifting, WODs, etc.) at Talon. 3. CrossFit isn't just a business for Talon. Talon represents a welcoming and open community and plays an important part in the broader Nashville community as well. They frequently host Throwdowns (competitions), holiday challenges and workouts, many which donate to charities within and outside the community. These events are open to both Rx or elite athletes as well as individuals just starting the CrossFit or fitness journey (i.e., scaled). 4. Talon has the best (most rigorous and thorough) warm up process of any box I've visited to date. When I first started at Talon, the warm up felt like a workout itself for me. The warm up movements are diverse and frequently changing (but with consistent recurrence) and ensure you are ready for the strength workout and WOD (workout of the day) that follows. 5. Maybe it's because I have a lot of deficiencies to correct, but even in a busy class, I frequently feel like I'm getting one-on-one coaching and almost always take away a new insight from my workout, Oly class, etc. Dennis, Tara and the Talon Coaching team truly care about you, your safety, and your self-improvement journey, and it goes beyond exercise to include diet and overall health. 6. Talon produces results. While I was not a stranger to exercise when I joined Talon, I wasn't at the fitness level I wanted. Since joining Talon, I am over 40 pounds lighter, feel as fit as I was in my 20s, and feel 100% stronger with many more PRs to come.

Crappy gym at the hotel and after a rough day at work I wanted a great workout. Called Talon to…read morereserve a spot, they called back and we were good to go. The class size was big (maybe 25 people) but they had about four or five coaches there who all checked in with me to make sure I knew the routine and workout. They partnered me up really well for the partner exercises too. Only suggestion, if you can make the drop in fee payable online, it would have been seamless. Not the end of the world though.
