Chillaxin with Aidan after a workout..
Dr. Jeffrey R.

Just joined last week after being a member of O2.. The Apex location has been very enjoyable overall. It is stocked with a ton of cardio, free weights, and machines. The club is very clean and well maintained. The overall music and vibe is very good. I have not done any classes or personal training so I can't comment. If you are looking for a great place to workout, you won't go wrong with this place.

Clean, lots of equipment. I've only been here a handful of times, but it's never been crowded, which is really nice. The locker rooms have showers, hair dryers, lockers and great space (countertop and mirror-wise) to clean up/get ready. The staff is really nice and accommodating. It's nothing super special- the Lifetime in Cary is super fancy and nice, complete with lap pool and outdoor lap pool/water slide play area, but it also has a bigger price tag. This location gets the job done nicely and affordably. Recommend speaking with Demola if you're thinking of checking it out or joining - he's one of the membership advisors, and very helpful!

Decent gym. Overall it isn't crowded compared to the Cary location, but has basically everything you need. It is always very stuffy and warm in there, and the water is the water fountains is WARM, thats my biggest complaint... I have to bring 2-3 water bottles because I don't want to have to drink the warm water when I refill my water bottle. I also wish the elliptical had the AC built in like the Cary location. Plus, after they did the renovations, I seem to have a hard time to try to find lower dumbbells (5-8lbs) on the floor.

I found this location to be relatively close to my home and I like that it's 24/7. I spoke with Andy on the phone and via text. The service Andy provides is excellent and Andy did a great job following up to ensure I could get a tour. Unfortunately, I settled on trying out another gym option but I look forward to circling back to Anytime Fitness if my current choice doesn't work out.

When I brought this to the owner, his answer was "because our facility is top notch and we have a bodybuilder like atmosphere which encourages a higher level of training at our facility". The facility is not top notch. Every other anytime fitness I've been to in the area has more equipment and is cleaner. They also are never any help when you come to them with questions about your "contract". I got a new credit card and needed to remove my card that was expiring from my payment method. The process was impossible. 2 weeks passed before anybody could give me an answer on how to change my payment method. Then, when it finally got switched, I got hit with late fees and a service charge totaling over $100. An absolute joke of a gym. Stay away at all costs.

An absolutely amazing addition and likely the best gym in the area by a solid margin, especially…read morefor the price. Went the other day to check it out using their free pass and got a tour and good workout in. It was absolutely jam packed, including the parking lot. This is not due to it being small, if anything both the lot and space are expansive, but rather it was likely due to a combination of time of day, it being the beginning of the year, and excitement over a new gym. Despite this, there is plentiful high quality and well maintained equipment so that despite the crowd, I was able to get a great workout in. There is both variety and quantity of equipment, so you seldom have to wait for anything (for example there were 12 squat racks, 4 sets of each weight for dumbbells, and more). Facilities are incredible, and very well organized. Walking in teh first floor includes a turf area in front, weights divided by groups, leg focused equipment at the end, chest focused stuff next to it, and plentiful cable machines in another section (it used to be a theater so while it is open, some dividers have been kept so each prior theater is a section, expansive and well organized/divided up but maintaining an open plan/feel). There is even an outdoor turf area. Upstairs there are some more machines and cardio equipment. Towards the back there is a pool, hot tup, ad I think even a cold plunge. While I did not try it, like the rest of the gym it all looked high quality and well maintained. On the left there are studio areas including a cycle studio, an open one, and a strike studio (which had plenty of punching bags), all of which seemed to also offer plenty of courses. There is also a recovery area which was awesome, including everything from massage chairs and red-light therapy to normatec leg sleeves. Just all around incredible. Even the locker rooms were awesome, clean, bright, well organized, even the showers were awesome with proper heavily frosted glass doors instead of the typical flimsy curtains. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, amenities and equipment were all high quality and details seemed to be paid attention to. If I had one slight criticism, the equipment was all quite close to each other. While this did not cause any issues while using the equipment as it was spaced just enough, it did cause slight navigational issues when walking around (this may have exasperated by the crowd), though I honestly prefer it to a lack of equipment. Their pricing was incredibly fair, especially for this quality of gym. Now what I am curious about is that many of the positives may be due to it currently being new, I want to see if they are able to maintain this level over the next few months and hopefully even years.

It was super pack which I understand and they couldn't give us a tour so we decided to take the free pass and try it for a bit. They gave other people tours but said no to us for some reason. The pool and outside part of the gym was closed and not ready so keep in mind if you pay for membership you don't have access to everything yet. I currently go to O2 I was ready to go to a new gym but this gym really is too crowded and kind of outdated for what it is. Machines were super close together. They try to just add stuff with out logic of spacing when people actual use them. The membership seems expensive with a lot of extra fees to use other parts. I think it more of a check a box fake appeal but when you really look at it... The gym does everything but just not well. Also, people did not clean up after themselves. That not the fault of the gym but the culture here seems to be a lot of people who do not know proper gym equiuette like wiping up or putting your weights away.

There are numerous classes that are serious workouts. Yoga, hot yoga, stretch, etc. I'm not a swimmer, but if I was I think the swim facilities are second to none, both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor pool is awesome, and will serve adult beverages, which is a nice option. There's steam, sauna, whirlpool, and a clean and well stocked locker room. I joined as soon as I could and was there on day one. Love this place! Finally, shout out to Courtney, who is always there with a smile and exuberant hello.

I love the group fitness classes and I love that you reserve your spot in advance. They also just started a new Core Tone Reform class with reformers for regular members, and that class kicks your butt! I also really enjoy the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzis. Another benefit is the kids membership. My stepdaughter loves coming to the kids club for gymnastics, rock climbing, yoga, and more. I know that she is having fun while I'm doing a class. They have Parents Night Out on the weekends and that's such a nice perk! There's also day camps, which has saved us a few times when we needed child care during a school break. The pool is also wonderful in the summertime. The cafe food is average. I'd love it if the quality was amped up just a bit. The only thing I really ever get is the vegan PB& B shake. It's delicious! It has peanut butter, banana, cafe mocha greens, almond milk, and vegan protein powder. I haven't been to the salon yet, but it's great that this is an option. Overall, I love this gym and I would go every day if I could.

So far I've really only been to the locker room and the main lifting area (I'm assuming) on the ground level. The front desk staff has been friendly, and there is a store I want to explore on the right as you walk in (heard good things). It's clear both inside and from the outside that there is much more to the building but that will be for as time progresses. Very much a "lifters" gym due to the vibes, the color palette is fairly dark and muted, primarily consisting of various shades of gray and black with an occasional red accent. On the wall there is a large mural of two bodybuilders, next to a 16 tv array display showcasing the game, or Ronnie Coleman lifting videos. On the floor there is a plethora of equipment, truly anything any lifted would need or even really want. The space is large, and with that packed with equipment while maintaining healthy spacing between pieces, which is very much appreciated. When it gets busy there may be a tad wait for some pieces but that is anywhere, and very reasonable. Staple workout pieces have multiples such racks and benches, and so for those it's fairly unlikely you will have to really wait. The equipment is modern, clean, and seems to be well maintained. The one qualm I have, which very well may be just due to me going later in the day, is the inconsistency of the weights. There are plenty of weights available, but they vary in size/brand/type a lot. Most seem to be iron, but the brands vary so even if the same weight, the sizes vary slightly. Now I don't necessarily mind loading up a bar "asymmetrically", but at the same time it would be kinda nice if I could have matching plates. I understand this is a small and insignificant thing, just one I noticed, and something that could also be very much due to gym goers moving stuff around. If you're going to the gym primarily to lift, I'd likely recommend this gym.
