It's very conveniently located near lots of shopping, so with the variety of offered class times, it's definitely something I can add into an errand or grocery run. Went to a Saturday morning workout class at the new Legend FIT Gym. There are no "official" signs…read moreup yet, but it's in the building directly next to Snap Fitness. The one hour class was easy to follow for a new comer and you could easier tailor it to your fitness level as almost all of the activities we did were using your own body as resistance. We did a circuit workout with Tabata added in, a term I'd never heard of until my workout. Tabata is a high-intensity style of workout where you do twenty seconds on with ten seconds rest, with about 3-5 rounds of each exercise. I liked that we hit every muscle: legs, arms, backs and added in cardio with laps to start and in between muscle groups. The gym is build to help obstacle course races, so in addition to the circuit workouts they offer, they also offer almost anything you could imagine to train for your upcoming race: rope climbs, monkey bars, wall climbs, an assortment of hanging bars and rings to practice on and much more. If you're looking for a spot to train for your next obstacle course race, I'd definitely recommend Legend FIT Gym. And if you want to test them out before joining, they do offer a one week "trial" for newbies.

Definitely not what I'm looking for. It's intimidating as it is already to be out of shape so it's nice that I found archetype online. And by no means am I fat, but I want to lean out more and it's just nice to have such a variety of people that are just focused on the same goal. I'll be honest, it's not the biggest gym but it fits everything you need for a good workout. If this is your first time joining a crossfit gym, this is the place to go. (1) Coaches are approachable. They're not looking you up and down and making you feel bad. Trust me, I've seen some places. (2) If you're looking for a community of people who just want to lose weight with or if you're like me and just tired of the regular routines and enjoy circuit training, this is the place for you. I weight lift but occasionally get lazy with the same old workouts. So this is fun for me. I'm sure you'll also enjoy it. (3) Location is perfect. Far for me, but perfect location-wise. (4) They have a morning schedule (that I can't make) and they have late afternoon schedule that usually between 5 to 7 pm. They have some sessions on Saturdays mornings only. (5) Their is a meal plan that they suggest you follow. My only take on that is if you plan to lose the weight you probably should be dieting anyway. I had just lost 10 lbs before attending attending this place. There is no trick to it I think. Self discipline. It's definitely worth checking out. There are things to improve but honestly worth staying or at least checking out. It's a hole in the wall crossfit spot, and I like that.

OHM Fitness is coming to Cary, and I have had the opportunity to experience it the past 3 weeks in…read morethe form of pop-up. It is a cool and interesting concept of wearing EMPowered suits that deliver EMS (electro muscle stimulation) for a fun low-impact 25 minute session. The future studio is currently under construction, so the owners (Liz and Luis) are sharing OHM Fitness with Triangle residents via pop-ups until the permanent location is ready. First timers are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to allow the team to prepare them for the experience and to give them the properly sized EMPowered suit which is like a scuba suit that goes from knees to elbow. The suits work "best" with direct skin contact, so people can go "commando" or opt to wear a thong to allow optimal contact with your glutes. The class is 25 minutes from warm up to peak to cool down and change exercises every 25 to 45 seconds. During the class the team will go around to each individual to make sure the suit has been optimized to each individual, which I think is very cool. each session has been unique, and the team will play music that motivates me even more. I like to push myself when I exercise for my own benefit, so I have increased the intensity over the past few weeks including Thanksgiving day. Each time I have left feeling energized and ready for another fun session in the near future (AKA tomorrow). I really like this concept because it's fast easy, and I feel good before during and after which you can't always say when exercising. Red Dog is a mixture of traditional gym equipment with specializations in both powerlifting and crossfit. The gym also runs group classes daily to cater to those interested in a more group-focused style of training. When people say there's a little something for everyone here, they truly mean it. The powerlifting equipment is all top of the line, in great shape, and will check every box you are looking for if in the market for a PL gym. I've been training and competing out of Red Dog for the last two years and it has been a godsend for my progress in the sport. For those interested in Crossfit, the gym is also specialized in that with all of the equipment and materials you need to push that sport as well. Where the gym is developing the best is in its ability to cater to those looking to lift, train, or get in shape, but not compete in a sport itself. Courtney and Aaron are always looking for things to add to the gym to enhance the experience and in November of 2025 there will be a large number of new machines and pieces of equipment coming into the gym.
