My children are always excited to see her, and it's obvious she truly cares about them. She treats them like family, and they absolutely adore her. Knowing my kids are happy, safe, and genuinely cared for gives me the peace of mind to actually enjoy my workout. That's something you can't put a price on. Skyla is incredible at what she does, and she's honestly one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to O2. The gym is lucky to have someone like her, and I would recommend O2 Fitness to any parent looking for a place where both they and their children feel welcomed and cared for.

What I appreciate most is how attentive she is to my physical limitations. She adjusts my workouts whenever needed and always makes sure I'm exercising safely and effectively. Stephanie explains every concept, technique, and movement clearly, which gives me confidence and helps me understand exactly what I'm doing and why. She motivates and inspires me at every session. She knows how to push me just the right amount--never too much, but always enough to help me grow stronger. And she genuinely celebrates my progress with me, which means so much. I highly recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and truly exceptional fitness trainer.

I recently decided to join Rex Wellness because of their aquatic center. I had been a member of…read morethe Y but got tired of having to compete with the toddlers and their parents... or worse, the kids who were not supervised at all. I like Rex much better (so far) than the Y because it has 3 different pools (lap swimming, physical therapy and HOT TUB!). I don't have to worry about competing with kids or teenagers ... just the opposite, I'm probably one of the younger people here and that is saying something since I'm over 50! I also like the fact that when you join, you can go to any club you like -- you aren't just limited to the one closest to you. Since I'm right smack dab in between Knightdale and Wakefield, that gives me more options. Wakefield has a bigger Hot Tub than Knightdale. Flipside, Wakefield seems to be busier. Both locations have built in combination locks which can be a bit confusing -- whenever I've been there, someone is constantly getting locked out and last night I got locked out... they operate differently at both locations so it can be a bit confusing. The lap pool isn't as large as the Y and it usually has large aqua aerobics classes going so if you REALLY want to swim laps, then this may not be the place for you. Also, the lap pool doesn't have a deep end -- deepest depth is 4.5 to 5 feet depending on location. I do wish it was a bit deeper because I like to tread water in the deep end but again, not having to deal with hyper teenagers makes it worth it to me. RexWellness pools do not have lifeguards so you really have to know your own limitations and look out for yourself -- especially if you are going when there aren't many people there. The workout space is large and when I go there even at peak time, there is plenty of equipment. Deducting one star because the swimsuit dryer has been out of order for quite some time and the showers are TEENY TINY... also wish they would stay open until 10. One other note: Everything I had read said that the pools were saline based and not chlorine... that must have changed because pools at both centers are most definitely chlorine-based. There is a 99 dollar fee to join but they do have frequent (unannounced) specials where that is waived. They expect the next one to be around September timeframe (I guess as the weather cools down and it is safe to venture outside again without the risk of heat stroke!) Yes, you can pay 10 bucks a month for Planet Fitness (and I have)... but every time I climb in the pool and hot tub, I think "this is the best 52 bucks I have ever spent!" It is truly like being able to take a vacation every day.

Lately, this gym has experienced a concerning increase in security incidents. On June 29, virtually…read moreevery locker in the locker room was reportedly broken into, and cash was stolen from multiple members, including me. Based on the damage I personally saw, there were wood chips and an indentation on the locker door that made it appear it may have been forced open with a crowbar or similar tool. Previous reviews have also reported vehicles being broken into in the parking lot, making the overall security situation even more alarming. What is even more frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. The situation was handled very poorly. Emails go unanswered, and corporate has been extremely difficult to reach or get any meaningful response from. After an incident involving so many members, I expected much better communication and support instead of feeling like everyone was left to figure things out on their own. Members should be able to work out without worrying about having their cash or valuables stolen in broad daylight. This facility needs stronger security measures, better monitoring of the locker rooms and parking areas, and more visible security personnel. If security is not improved and management does not start taking these incidents seriously, I will no longer be a member. It is unacceptable to allow members to be repeatedly robbed while their concerns are ignored

It's not without a lot of caveats that "grannieyelpie" here is going to guide you through this…read morereview. Because its not all white or black - lot of grey. As you know granne is a Zumba gold fitness intructor with over 10 years of shaking bomboms in Metrowest, MA. Its the Zumba fitness mentality - A BODY IN MOTION STAYS IN MOTION (and you haven't lived until you see an 80+ twerking or rocking perfect squats!). Yea. Grannie is also a lifetime lifter, overweight (have you read my reviews on how much I EAT?! duh), active, and in the professional great company of some of the most recognized international ergonomists, biomechanists, exercise physiologists, academics and inventors. It's what grannie does when she's not stuffing her face somewhere... But I digress. I am a HUGE fan of MOST of the F45 philosphy - functional moving has helped my broken body in ways that I say are short of the best mental and physical therapy I have done through my recovery, but the F45 formula exists for the demographic it serves - the need to be "Kardashian or barbie-like 22-42 year olds with money to spend on looking good, "because heaven forbid I dont", with a very approachable system that is less destructive than cross-fit training. THIS F45 thinks its a cross-fit dig. Now the goodies on Heritage Corner: This facility is clean to a fault! Cleanliness is close to godliness in my book. Very spacious, illuminated, well thought through. The staff... that I experienced during my out of town (and out of body and out of my mind for staying) with trainers that KNOW the F45 model and sell it well. Their locals/regulars are fit and fabulous, music is on point, and dancing allowed. A+ then goes to hell in a handbasket down to a C- (hey at least its not a failing grade. C's get degrees and leaves room for humility... I mean, growth, which I am SURE they will have!). I'm accountable: I have an attitude - I have been broken so many times I am beyond mindful of how I train for myself (with great coaches that have worked with my ergonomics and kinesiology for 2+ years and still going, yielding improvements in strength, muscle mass, balance and pain management - SHOUT OUT TO F45 HUDSON). F45 IS NOT CROSS FIT. BUT THIS F45 things its a cross fit center... I may have violated their precious rule of F45 etiquette reaching (SAFELY AND NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS) equipment that I KNEW I could use to MODIFY to my body... but the gorgeous and insanely stuck up manager (queue real housewies) slapped my snout (cute southern-charm style "bless her heart) - maybe deserved, but she was so focused on HER workout, she didn't bother to assess MY needs as a visitor. After that I was afraid to ask. I had left a bar near where I was going to use it (I got permission from Lindsay), but Mr Milennial "D" put it away before I got there (WT..?). SO forget it. "Get in line girl", YESSIR! (I'm old enough to be his mom!). The stuck-up staff reflects leadership - no surprises there. Sorry "D", but I work with engineers from MIT that are seriously MORE HUMBLE and approachable. Their chip isn't even close to your tone deafness. D is a professional, knows his F45 stuff (ANYONE CAN BE TRAIN ON HOW TO TEACH THE WORKOUT) until he has to deal with someone who doesn't adore on him. During the brief "drive through" interview I told them my comorbidities, only to be started at: 1) on the most challenging 2 minute shoulder drill 2) SHOULDER - IF they had LISTENED, they would have not started me on upper back, shoulder and neck. BAD COACHING! Then as I was gazing PAINFULLY trying to decide to I stay or do I leave, he YELLED OUT like I'm a child (I'm old and not wearing hearing aids yet), where I needed to go. Sorry, but my pain was a warning I didn't heed, and it was drowning out your smugness. MY FAULT that I didn't walk out. I wanted to finish my workout and get my $15 visitor drop in fee worth. BTW, they can give a one day pass. Particularly when my F45 coach/manager had contacted them ahead of time... So ask. If you are 22-42, no injuries and weight to lose, a local resident and not a brat like me AND you don't mind coaches that are in love with themselves and their adoring fans, DONT shy away because my experience was bitter sweet. Get your buns in and get ready to build muscle, endurance and have (MAYBE) a great time while you are at it. ITS NOT CROSSFIT. It should be SAFE, tailoredly intense and delivers. Or try another one (Raleigh?). F45 WORKS. Slowly and overtime you will get results, the results you set yourself up for, and YOU DONT HAVE TO DRINK THEIR KOOL-AID. You can make it work for you! Unfortunately, if this had been my first experience, it would have been my last. I'm an oddball and we just didn't have chemistry (doesn't excuse their "tone deafness"...) Time for me to get off my buns now and go for a walk. I see a poke bowl in my future after the delicious bagel I just scarfed down... more on that here on Yelp! Eating my way through Wake Forest!

I'm visiting family here in North Carolina and came by this location with my fiancé. I'm a paying member based in California and didn't realize my membership didn't include out of state access. When I scanned in, the guy at the front desk immediately asked if I was from here. I explained that I was just visiting, but instead of offering help or explaining options, he was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to assist. There was no explanation, no attempt to offer a guest pass, upgrade, or even a basic welcome. He simply turned us away, without care. I even called my home gym in California, and their manager was very kind and understanding. They said that this location could have offered a courtesy pass but when I brought it up, the staff here, especially the manager Daniel, refused and acted like I didn't matter. It was honestly one of the most unwelcoming gym experiences I've ever had. To compare after leaving LA Fitness, I went to Planet Fitness nearby, and guess what? I'm not even a member there, but they gladly welcomed me in, offered me a free guest pass, and treated me with kindness and respect. Their staff was professional and accommodating, something this LA Fitness location seriously lacks. I've always had great experiences at my home LA Fitness in California, where staff are helpful and friendly. But this Raleigh location made me feel disrespected, unimportant, and embarrassed. I wasn't trying to get in for free I would've upgraded on the spot if someone had just taken a moment to explain. Instead, I was kicked out like I wasn't even a member. Really upsetting experience. LA Fitness corporate should be aware of how this location treats loyal members from out of state.
