The staff are friendly. The place is clean. The price isn't $10 cheap like gyms used to be, but there are none around here at a normal price like 10 per month (It's 30 to 40/mo.) The downside is the place is a little small. However, even though they tried to make it bigger by knocking down the wall upstairs, they can't be blamed for the size, there is only so much space possible. There are enough weights, sometimes you have to wait for a bench but usually there is one available. It is not too busy, and they keep the place nice. The biggest downside is that YMCA has a similar price per month but also has an indoor and outdoor pool, rock climbing wall, pickleball and basketball courts, and full amenities. I think that $30 to $40 per month is too much for a gym membership especially for a gym only with no amenities. But YMCA is too far to travel (takes about 10 to 15 minutes - that's another half hour out of day lost, plus gas), so also since this Anytime is right up the street from me, this one is better due to location. If I wanted to travel 10 minutes I could also go to the other Anytime in Wake Forest which is larger and more spacious. And membership does apply to every Anytime Fitness in the area. So that convenience does make up a little for the lack of amenities. Also, after visiting the Y, which has a larger gym, actually I preferred this smaller yet cozy and comfortable gym of this Anytime. In fact, This Anytime is a very nice atmosphere. And there are lots of windows, so even though it's a tad smaller it also has a nice view, so actually I liked the overall atmosphere and feel of this Anytime Fitness better than the Y. YMMV. Oh yeah, and the best thing about this gym. ANYTIME. Yes you can really go any time of the day 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I like being any to go to the gym anytime. Other gyms in the area are not open anytime, so that is one huge benefit of Anytime Fitness. I tend to stick to my workout routine more when I don't have the excuse "oh well they are closing in 10 minutes/2 hours or whatever, I don't have time to workout today". Nope, doesn't matter what time it is! I can work out. And I have come after midnight before. What's cool is that on off-hours there are less people so you kind of have the place to yourself. So if all you want to do is work out lifting weights or doing cardio, this Anytime is nice. If you need more amenities, this isn't the place, but then again if you live nearby the convenience factor may be worth it. The price is high, but the place is clean, and best of all, it is open anytime, 24/7. -- By the way don't know about old review below but I never seen any webs. I have been training in gyms for about 23 years. Within the last four years my training regimen has shifted to one that is now a military fitness regimen and which is also highly educational. I have trained at every Crossfit gym in Wake Forest and competed with them/in them through the years. I also was a member of the YMCA for 2 years in Wake Forest. However, I spent the last year at Anytime Fitness in Wake Forest. Ideally I'd be training in a Crossfit gym on a daily basis but I don't understand why anyone would want to pay $150-200 a month to use a facility. So, after all my years and experience in Wake Forest, Anytime Fitness Wake Forest was the best training facility for my money. My membership price was $35 a month. Along with a lot of standard equipment you will find at a gym, this Anytime also has VERY nice olympic barbells, REAL bumper plates, a 350 lb. tire out back in the yard for flipping, two sledge hammers for striking, a rope for climbing, a sled for pushing and pulling outside, white boards for planning, slam balls, wall balls, heavy kettlebells, a Concept 2 rower, a heavy bag, and a pull up rig. As a member you also can control the volume of the music in the gym from room to room, as well as what is played through Pandora. If you are looking to work on yourself at a gym that has many of the perks that you'll find in a professional training facility for much much less the cost, Anytime Wake Forest is a great deal and can serve as your training home away from home. The staff are friendly and the current owner Brendan is former military and a family man. He understands the importance of community and making each member feel welcomed. This place is great! I have driven by it for years and always thought that it was only cardio equipment, but when I finally went in to check it out I was surprised to find that they have an entire downstairs dedicated to weight lifting. The separation of cardio and weights is nice so the people doing cardio aren't bothered by the slamming of the weights. They have multiple squat racks and a dead-lift platform which is really nice. They also have private showers with shower gel, which is really nice since I like to workout before work. I have yet to see this place packed which is a big thing for me since I hate to wait for equipment. The owner is a great guy that is willing to go out of his way to make your time there as good as it can be. The icing on the cake is the fact that it's 24/7 and I have access to every other Anytime Fitness. I highly recommend this gym if you've never tried it out. read more

After losing my athletic momentum in college and graduate school, Anytime Fitness helped me to not only gain motivation, drive and determination but also helped me to drop 2 dress sizes in 2 months. I joined with the intention of spending hours on the elliptical and having mediocre workouts. I gained so much more when I started the weekly training sessions, we call it After Burn. Some weeks I would attend all classes (4-5) and other weeks was not able to make it.. but I can tell you I always wanted to be there then anywhere else! Andrew and Kevin are the two trainers within the gym and they are EXCELLENT. They are not only friendly and resourceful but motivating and encouraging in every aspect. When I was looking to join a gym last May, I needed a few things - a place I wouldn't be intimidated and that would work with my schedule. Luckily with Anytime Fitness in Wake Forest, I found both. The majority (and I say majority because there is always someone) of people who work out there are down to earth and focused solely on getting better, healthy and stronger. The staff is very friendly. Even prior to working with him one-on-one, Andrew always greeted me whenever I was at the gym. The 24 hour option is fantastic for people's who lives are outside of the regular 9-5 a lot of places limit you to. This gym has made going to the gym a regular part of my life style. I had a terrible experience with Anytime Fitness. When I signed up, I was told I would be charged monthly, but instead, they charged me bi-weekly without making that clear upfront. That's a huge difference in cost over time, and I wouldn't have agreed to it if they had been honest. When I tried to cancel my membership after realizing the misleading charges, Felix, the head director, gave me a hard time. Instead of understanding that I was misled, he made the cancellation process way more difficult than it needed to be. This place is all about sneaky charges and customer service is not good with answering the phone. If I could give 0 stars I would. Be careful before signing anything with them! read more

First, let me say that the staff here are awesome! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help you out if you have any questions. The equipment is new and never out of order and the owner keeps this facility very clean. They have private showers, offer 24 hr access and provide a great environment to work out in. Upstairs is their cardio area and down stairs they have weights, machines and a big area with open space to do whatever you want. I have been a member of several health clubs in the past when I lived in other locations, and Anytime Fitness on Rogers Road stacks up very well with respect to any of them. I have now been a member for almost six years. I am a 66 year old runner and find the treadmills there to be the best treadmill decks I have ever run on. The other equipment is also top notch. The facility is always clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly. And of course it is always open. If you live near Rogers Road, it is a no brainer. read more

It may not have all the machines you would see at a Lifetime or Golds, but the atmosphere and drive of the people to push each other more than make up for it - at the end of the day weights are weights, if you don't push yourself, or have those around you that will it doesn't matter if you have every machine known to man..... read more
