This seven year old facility still has a newness to it. It is modern, clear, airy and full of light. UNC staffs the center with well trained professionals happy to be working with the public. Under one roof you will find childcare during your workout, children's fitness classes and special events, even 8 weeks of summer camp 9am-5pm; physical therapy; massage; nutrition counseling and a healthy kitchen, rock climbing wall, aquatic facility including lap pool, warm therapeutic pool, sauna, hot tub, and classes; indoor walking track; three exercise studios packed with classes; and an entire floor of exercise equipment for stretching, cardio, and strength training. There is also a large outside artificial turf field and picnic area. Plus if you belong here at Northwest Cary, you also have full access to UNC Wellness Center at Meadowmont (but not the other UNC centers). On the down side--no full-size gymnasium (only a half-sized court) for basketball, no racquetball or Pickleball courts. Very limited food and beverage--only a vending machine and ice/water dispenser. The latter is probably all you really need.

Cardio and resistance equipment galore

So many kids... Everywhere. Like grade school children. Took some adjusting, I hope they pay as much for a membership as I do

I don't know about you dear reader, but my past experiences with trainers have gone something like…read morethis: 1. Hire trainer 2. Show up on time, wait for them to arrive on time 3. Start workout 4. While they're checking their phone, finish circuit, stand there, wait for instruction 4. Continue workout while they talk about how great they are 5. Finish workout while they check their phone again 6. Rinse and repeat After moving here in October, I needed a serious trainer that could push me but not be a jerk about it and understand my limits. I believe this takes intelligence, discernment, and kindness. So I was beyond amazed when Sean (the owner) paired me with Omar. Omar is all of the above and more. He is: 1. Very kind 2. Really understands functional training - proper movements and sequencing so I don't hurt myself and really get the most out of each exercise 3. Always on time 4. Funny 5. Always asks how I'm doing with the movements and invites feedback 6. Knows how to listen and make changes accordingly I also like that the facility isn't too big and we each have our own pods to work out in. I don't know about you, but I often found myself getting lost and feeling insecure in big box, meat market gyms, regardless of how nice they were or how many amenities they threw in as marketing gimmicks. And this is why I love Fitness Together and why Omar is the best trainer I've ever trained with. Everything is straightforward and Sean is great about checking in with me. In fact, I'm on my second 90-day package and plan on continuing thereafter. We have a lot of fun together. Plus I get the support and accountability I need without all the narcissism so common in this industry.

Fitness Together is a great motivational place to get fit. They challenge you week after week…read more They really try to accommodate your specific athletic needs. There is accountability to exercise on a regular basis. I hate the hard work I have to put in, but enjoy the results. Thank you FT!! You have changed my life for the BETTER! Sean is a very hard but great trainer!!!
