The equipment is very specific to the type of training/workout you will have. Let me tell you, I can feel a difference in my strength levels within a few sessions! You truly get a workout within 20 mins that seems like you have been working out for HOURS. The pricing is very good for what you receive and achieve. I did not send email, I was not able to see account online and thought she was right. On February 18 my account was debited by Pilates Chapel Hill South, so if emailed them concerning debit. I got phone later from the manager. She told me I was a member and I must have called wrong studio. I don't think she even spoke to sales rep concerning call just told me it was my mistake. I have proof, call log showing 3 minute call to her studio and I emailed to her. She will waive final monthly fee since I was cancelling my n February 18 within 30 day payment window and I could attend classes thru end of month. REALLY... after proof sent and it's still my mistake. I won't ever go there again. I was taught the customer is always right and I know that isn't always true. However, if the customer sends proof, you apologize for the error, you don't keep defending your sales rep.

And then after finishing my workout and finally being able to relax in the massage chairs, I realize I have to wait 10 full minutes because they only have two massage chairs and two Hydro massage chairs for the literal hundreds of people that come to this location. There's really no excuse. Please get more massage chairs, and Hydro massages for the people that are paying 20+ dollars a month. Every other location I've been to has at least four regular massage chairs. I don't understand why this location only has two especially for the level of foot traffic they get. After asking the price of the monthly membership I got an answer of 20.99 per month which included the "fitness classes". After buying this monthly membership I found out that other people were getting special treatment and discounts.. because they know the family that owns the business, they were friends with staff, etc. Come to find out that THREE people I knew around the area were only paying 11.99-14.99 a month.. all of them varying in prices. When I found this out I confronted the girl behind the counter and she quickly offered me a discount to hush up. Needless to say, I left the membership and the gym completely. After asking for a new quota this year they are now charging $25.99-$30 per month for their limited equipment, and packed Zumba classes. In my opinion this gym is not worth even $11 a month. They barely have any cardio equipment, and the weight section is usually all taken up by buff intimidating men who look at you weird when you try to work out. Would not recommend, and if the business tries to take this review down I have screenshots for proof on the different amounts taken out of my bank account when I was a member, and a message from the business telling me how much their membership is now. Go to planet fitness please, less intimidating there and you get so many more benefits.

Not only are her choreography and songs are amazing, but the other people that attend her classes are encouraging and friendly. I've also done her fit camp classes and those are difficult yet effective for building endurance and strength. She offers online classes during the pandemic and they had been equally as enjoyable.

I do not like Zumba classes that feel like aerobics, and I have low tolerance for instructors who can't dance, who have no rhythm, and who can't tell the difference between the various genres of Latin and world music. I haven't encountered any of these problems with Erica. She keeps to the beat, she's very energetic, and she knows what's up. Her class is challenging, but you will have a lot of fun and you will sweat! Students with a dance background will appreciate her choreographies. And her music is awesome. No Pitbull! She plays soca, dancehall, reggaeton, West African music, hip hop, and r 'n b, plus authentic salsa and merengue, with accurate moves to match. One of her routines has a bhangra flavor too. When we do squats we do them to the go-go classic "Da Butt" Erica currently holds classes 4 times a week in 3 different locations in South Durham and RTP: Monday 7:30 pm at Learning Tots Academy, Tues 7:30 pm at Bethesda Elementary School (you have to go around to the back of the main school building! I learned this the hard way), Thurs 7:30 pm at the Bethesda Elementary School gymnasium (separate building from Tues nt's class), and Sat 9:30 am at Learning Tots. She also does some special events, and she sells Zumba gear. The walk-in rate for classes is $7 (going up to $8 soon though) and she offers discounted passes (punch cards) for 5 or 10 classes each. There are about 50 students at each of her classes! but there is plenty of room to move around, and her students come in all shapes and sizes, so don't be shy. Bring water and a sweat towel!

At the end of the event, I purchased a 5 class pass and was hoping to use it throughout 2020... which ended up not happening. By the time the gym was re-opening, I barely had enough time to use any of the passes. I contacted Barre3 - Chapel Hill, and they honored my purchase and extended it for one more year. So I got to use the passes this spring! Like a lot of people, I gained some weight through pandemic as I was moving a lot less: So I'm pretty out of shape. I only went to Sunday classes as I live in Durham, and this place it a bit of a drive for me. The receptionists are always friendly. I think I've met at least two different ladies, but they were all friendly and made me feel welcome although I'm not a regular. The instructors! I've worked out with two different instructors, and they were all friendly and all super fit & strong. They gave me many modification options throughout the classes which I appreciate so much since I'm very out of shape. Every single class, I left feeling sweaty but refreshed. I usually bring my own water bottle and a towel, but there are lots of towels for you to grab by the receptionist desk. I love that Barre3 is a combination of cardio and muscle work out. After going to classes consistently for couple weeks (only once a week though), I feel stronger. I really wish this location was closer to home (almost 30 minutes from where I live), so I could come here more often. I'm hoping to get random drop in classes as I loved it so much. I was a client of this studio and have recently been in complete shock due to their service. This…read morestudio is constantly changing its rules, and they only notify you about it in emails along with advertisements. There are no notifications about these changes in the client's personal account. Recently, I was 5 minutes late for a class due to traffic (I was coming from a neighboring town), and I was not allowed in! The door was closed. It was just terrible! Previously, I had been late for classes, as had other clients, and everyone was let in. But it turns out the rules suddenly changed. I wrote to the manager, and she said that "I had opened the notification emails." It's simply disgusting to scold a client about whether they read the promotional emails to explain a rule violation. Yes, I opened the email, saw it was an advertisement, and deleted it. Barre sends notifications at the very end of the email, which is not obvious at all. What's even worse - I was late to the next class, and since I had already had a negative experience, I decided to skip it. The next day, I saw that I was charged for the missed lesson! The studio took money from me for a class I had already paid for!!! This is simply unacceptable. I'm punished both for being late and for not showing up. Checkmate! As a client who got held up at work, I'm in a no-win situation! I have never seen such terrible rules. They are constantly changing, and you never know what to expect. I have completely lost all desire to continue with barre.
