You can find everything you need to get an amazing workout across any modality of your choosing. The pricing model is also one of the best in the area. I am currently on a personal trainer package which allows me to bring clients in for 1 on 1 training, a service that is not available at commercial gyms. I ended up utilizing the outdoor spin classes at this location frequently, and cannot say enough good things about Chuck, the fitness instructor. As far as I know, there are a few other outdoor classes, but the spin classes are my jam. I love Chuck's energy, the music, and the fact that I get a super hard ride in once a week. I believe he teaches three classes per week, but the Sunday class is my favorite. So grateful that the YMCA has provided us with a safe way to get our fitness on. Thank you!

While the American Tobacco Campus lacks a swimming pool, steam…read moreroom and sauna, it makes up for it in the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, cleanliness of the lockers and equipment and it's the least crowded Y I've been to in the area. I most often visit the gym between 9:30-12:00pm, and there is never more then a handful of clients during those hours at this Y. Mostly professionals that work at Tobacco Campus, people are quiet and stick to themselves. Also, note that this location is also only open on weekdays, conducive to professionals! I've never had a Y attendant be more attentive to me, one of the staff asked me if I was doing okay during my workout routine and offered helpful suggestions. Their quality of equipment is on par with the Lakewood facilities but is more updated with the NikeFit application on the treadmills and built in fans (you also have a beautiful waterfall view!). They also have a private bike room (not a glass room like the downtown Y) and a couple private workout classrooms for classes. My only qualms about this Y are that parking can be rough to find and there's a two hour limit on the street and in the deck. In addition, the water pressure in the woman's bathroom is like a deep-tissue massage. It's not bad, but startled me at first and I could see people having an issue with that. Since this location is only open during weekdays and not late, it's definitely more geared towards the local work crowd. Last, the lockers in the woman's room are much smaller then your typical YMCA lockers, so bring a small gym back or just try to shove it all in. I switch off my YMCA's since I work, live and socialize near three different locations, but I was very happy to discover this mostly hidden branch. Be sure to check it out if you're looking for a quiet atmosphere and a place where there will always be open equipment. Also, they've got coffee for you on your way out, how much better can it get?! Elite Note: If you feel like running outdoors, the ATT starts on the other side of the highway and goes for 22 miles!

And my rating is only about the equipment upkeep and maintenance and NOT about the quality staff that they continue to have working there. I really enjoyed the elliptical, leg press, leg curl, Ab and bicep curl machines here. At the time I visited the space was not crowded which is greatly appreciated. This allowed me to freely use whatever I needed without the crowds and waits. I love this for me in any gym. The amenities are great. The indoor pool, sauna and hot tub are a really nice touch here. I look forward to returning to try out some of these options. As far as the price point it's up there in price in comparison to my Y membership. I think for the peacefulness and quality of equipment in this space - it may be well worth it if it's meet one's expectations. My only point out here was some cardio machines could use some dusting. They could also use some new towels here or some fabric softener would help soften the towels. I recommend bringing your own towels.

The equipment and gym itself is okay, some machines are broken and being fixed all the time but can be worked around. The downfall comes to amenities. My first morning workout after joining I find out that they have no towels ( sweat/showers ) I thought that was a bit odd but okay, I started bringing my own towel. During the entire winter of 2024 they had no hot water . It took months and months for them to repair the hot water. Taking an ice cold shower when it's 30 degrees outside SUCKS . Then there's cancellation. I tried to cancel for so long and I got the run around so many times that I ended up just blocking them on my card. After all this they tried to send me a collections letter as well. That will not be paid. As I have joined another gym, with a full size pool, brand new and nice amenities for less than 50 dollars a month and you can cancel ANYTIME. Highly do not recommend this place, there are so many other competitive gym options to go to.

I've been through multiple PTs and chiropractors over the years, and nobody could find the right solution and treatment for me except for Sam. She is detailed, explains things thoroughly and comprehensively, and has remarkable talents/knowledge in the PT field. She is also super friendly and easy to talk to. Huge mistake as everything has gone downhill over the last 12 months. Equipment is consistently broken. Currently, in a row of 10ish cardio machines, 5 have been broken for weeks. Weight machines also consistently break. An excuse often given is that the equipment is old and parts hard to find. Here is an idea, if equipment is too old, consistently breaks, and hard to find parts, maybe get some new equipment? What is the excuse for a urinal and sink in the men's room being broken for weeks? I tried contacting management to no avail. There is also consistent turnover in staff, maybe because they advertise the front desk position at a whopping ten bucks per hour. would love to cancel our membership but they have us locked in conveniently otherwise we would find a new gym immediately.
