I just completed my 51class at orangetheory in Wake Forest. I love everything about the studio…read moreand members. Everyone is so friendly and happy to be in each others space. I am a women of a certain age and I feel right at home with members that are half my age. Great music, fantastic challenges , knowledgeable coaches. A great place to challenge yourself! Amazing! we just moved here to Wake Forest from Austin, where I did OT and was part of a studio. the vibe at…read morethis studio is disappointing. The front desk attitude comes across high and mighty rather than helpful and accommodating. I was 6 minutes late the day after it snowed not used to needing to scrub ice off my car and as a mom of 3 small children it takes a lot to get out to exercise. I was greeted with "you're past the 5 minute mark". Even though I explained (and was unaware of this 5 minute mark since the studio I came from does not have this rule), I was sent away. We just moved and amidst weeks of unpacking I really needed to move my body. the first time I came I explained we just moved and I couldn't find my monitor. I was met with "we will give you one this time but we charge next time $10." Not a warm welcome. Quite the contrast from my studio in Austin and frankly I'm not sure I will stay with OT though I do enjoy the workouts because this is the only close studio and I'm a busy mom of 3 who is sometimes a little late and when I'm paying a fortune to be part of a class expect to be treated with kindness.

Synopsis - Of all the gyms I have ever belonged to, this is my favorite and the people that operate…read moreand are a part of the gym are truly the best. Red Dog is a mixture of traditional gym equipment with specializations in both powerlifting and crossfit. The gym also runs group classes daily to cater to those interested in a more group-focused style of training. When people say there's a little something for everyone here, they truly mean it. The powerlifting equipment is all top of the line, in great shape, and will check every box you are looking for if in the market for a PL gym. I've been training and competing out of Red Dog for the last two years and it has been a godsend for my progress in the sport. For those interested in Crossfit, the gym is also specialized in that with all of the equipment and materials you need to push that sport as well. Where the gym is developing the best is in its ability to cater to those looking to lift, train, or get in shape, but not compete in a sport itself. Courtney and Aaron are always looking for things to add to the gym to enhance the experience and in November of 2025 there will be a large number of new machines and pieces of equipment coming into the gym. Couple that with 24/7 access, a well-below typical price for a specialized gym such as this one, and a great group of people who train here and you have the best gym north of the Triangle hands down. There are a number of people who use Red Dog living in Raleigh who drive past countless gyms simply to train here, it speaks for itself. 5 Powerful Stars out of 5!

Last year I mentioned my goal of gaining 10lbs and with the coaches expertise and accountability, they were able to help me exceed my goal to 30lbs. They've helped me push past what I previously thought would be impossible.

I would give 5 stars just on the quality of my personal trainer, Benaisha Doctor. She does an…read moreexcellent job of thoughtfully planning workouts that took my physical issues into account, making every session both safe and effective...much more so than other trainers I have had through the years. She's a great coach; kept me on track, always cheerful, positive, and motivating. This became something to look forward to, instead of dreading it, making it very helpful in meeting my goals. Membership here does require a long-term commitment and swimming around full team schedules. I like the personal feel of the gym; the lap pool is warm enough for me; and the outdoor area is GREAT for families. It's not a new facility, but the equipment is well maintained and there are a variety of exercise classes.

I asked Denice Adrian, who is the Assistant General Manager, Director of Sales if I could just pay…read moreto take water aerobics classes because I am disabled and on SSDI. She flat out told me no. That basically have to pay almost $1,000 for their membership and the about $54 to $200 a month in addition to. They don't just allow people to just sign up and pay per water aerobics classes package or per class. I am trying to find places close to home that do indoor and outdoor water aerobics to be active. And not having luck. But don't go to Granite Falls Swim & Athletics in Rolesville! What a joke and way too expensive!!
