The room was nice and toasty for class, and the instructor guided us through a series of poses that cleared my mind from a hectic day of work. Bonus: The studio is next to a gorgeous lake that you can feast your eyes on for some post-workout meditation. I came through ClassPass, but it looks really easy to sign up online, etc.

Where do I begin. Well, after driving from NJ to Raleigh NC area, I needed some yoga. I am fairly…read morenew to yoga but after doing about 10 classes, my joints feel better. My buddy in NJ got me hooked on hot yoga and so far I've taken about 7-8 of hot yoga classes too. Now in NJ hot yoga is a dry heat. Fast forward to NC and the hot yoga at Firefly is another animal. The room is heated with like humidifier steam...you can literally see the steam in the room. When class starts the steamers are turned off and that heat is on in that room! I saw 2 other objects in the room and maybe some heat was coming from them too. Oh did I mention the temperature outside was already about 95 degrees. I think the room itself was 100 degrees. The instructor William was amazing. He has a very calming voice and because the class was so intimate he knew I was never in his class and another woman as well. She was from Philly and I was the Jersey girl. William welcomes you and makes you feel very comfortable. We progressed through the moves slowly but intensely. William also walked around the room to correct form and help you to get deeper into the stretch. When the class was done corpse pose aka: savasana felt so GOOD! I loved the ice cold towel they give each student at the end. The studio is hidden. At first I thought my GPS was wrong. Have you ever seen the movie Deliverance? Yes, think that movie. The studio is inside of a like country club/retirement community/pool house...just weird but it's beautiful. The yoga place when you walk in is on the left and there is an attendant at the desk. There are locker rooms and showers...the yoga room is upstairs door on the right. I purchased a 2 week deal for $25. I am in town for 3 days but you can't beat the deal. So if in the Cary/Raleigh area check them out and make sure you're able to take the heat! Good place very good place.

I tried out the yoga which was offered by a virtual instructor. There were 3 instructors to represent different skill levels for reference. I felt great after the session! I signed up for a membership before I left. The facility is super clean, comfortable, and safe. Hotworx is open 24 hours so you can go to any of the virtual classes or simply sit in the sauna at times that work with your schedule. The hours referenced here are the times that there is someone working up front to show you the ropes (no pun intended) or answer questions. I never thought that I would "enjoy" working out in any way, but I absolutely LOVE the workouts at Hotworx. If you have not given the free trial a chance, I promise it is completely worth it and you will fall in love like I did!

Which is fine because it's policy but just letting you know in advance that if you need more flexibility around time this may pose as difficult. I had paid for three classes in advance as that is how they had it laid out at the time. They mentioned they would let the manager know to see if theres credit reimbursement but I havent heard anything since. I've only been to beginner classes but the instructors seem ok! I searched for yoga studios in the area and would love to try aerial in my lifetime! Fortunately, Pura Vida Studio is in close proximity. The website is easy to navigate and the studio owner, Alicia, is extremely kind to answer questions prior to registration. A few email exchanges along with a follow up and 5 stars on customer focus was appreciated. I opted to begin by jump starting and return to yoga practice on Saturday, then Sunday....next one Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, ... no option Thursday so I will have a rest day, then back Friday and so forth! Class starts on time and door locked for client safety and security this is pivotal and while some may disagree, fundamental safety protocols are essential. Pura Vida Studio is clean and utilized space well and even offered a tour first day as new client. A sense of positivity in this local community. I enjoyed meeting the owner who set up the room prior to a full class with a motivational card which seems to be spot on and a delightful presentation and experience. Surgery was an option that all of my holistic friends felt was a bad decision, with risks and possible complications besides more time away from work and still more healing. But who could show me the other way? My personal doctor connected me with his physical therapist, who worked closely with Frank to help other people in my situation, and so I looked forward to working through my fears and pain, with Frank. WITHOUT SURGERY, I am stronger and more confident than I was before the injury 24 months ago, and now healthier at the age of 55. A weight routine does not concern me, nor my cardiologist and internist because we all know that Frank is monitoring what I do, in a way that gives me the most benefit, with the least risk of further injury. Each time I go home feeling good, not in pain for the next few days, and I still make significant progress, even more than my friends that do not work out with a trainer, but work out more often. He's my guide, coach, support, and now my friend. I could not do this without him, and that's why I recommend him to all of my friends, and especially other dentists, before they are injured. I recommend prevention over repair, and with Frank, the healing is even better than the health I had before the repair was needed. Either way, go and see what he can do for you.
