Instead, I was handed off to a completely different therapist that I never booked with. The massage itself was incredibly aggressive, uncomfortable, and felt extremely rushed. Very little oil was used, and I ended up with friction burns and red marks across my back from how rough it was. I came in with mild lower-back pain and left barely able to bend over or move comfortably. My back feels substantially worse now than before the appointment. What upset me most was the response afterward. When I told them that my back was much worse and that I was struggling to move, I was met with a blank stare and told, "She's been doing this for 25 years," as if that somehow addressed the issue. As I was visibly in pain and wheezing, the only follow-up I received was, "Okay, thank you, you're all set, bye." For a premium-priced service, there was zero concern for the customer experience, no attempt to make things right, and no acknowledgment that something may have gone wrong. I'm now out $175 and honestly feel like I would have received a better massage at half the price somewhere else. I also have serious doubts about the online ratings. The business shows a near-perfect score, yet there are numerous negative experiences that don't seem to be reflected in that rating. I wanted a deep tissue massage and I've had MANY, what the guy was doing was not a deep tissue massage; I don't know wth it was. He rubbed the same spot over and over again-- when he asked about the pressure after the 3rd time I told him to soften up. I should have informed him it's not the pressure it's the excessive rubbing in the same spot. I got a noticeable bruise the next morning and a couple of dark spots that is light bruising. I did not feel the knots loosening, I did not feel any lighter. It's been almost 3 days and my back is tighter than it has ever been and hurts especially my shoulder blade area and neck where he kept rubbing. Idk what all the good reviews are about; both my sisters who also got massages with me said it was not great. I just had the worst experience out of my sisters.
