Head spa
Natasha H.

I've always wanted to try a head spa, so I came here for my first time. I booked a 60 minute head spa service and booked online easily for a next day appointment. The price seemed fair for what I got for a 60 minute session. The ambiance of this place is super cute with a lot of pink decor and furniture. They had relaxing music playing and soothing water sounds. The room I was in, wasn't completely enclosed but it was separated from the hallway by a curtain. It felt private enough, but the downside was you could hear everything going on in the lobby and in the building. Since it was my first time, I had no idea what to expect. They brushed my hair and used some kind of scraper tool I would assume to get the dead skin off, but they were a little rough when brushing my hair and when using the scraping tool. At one point I thought my scalp was bleeding from how hard they were scraping, so I didn't love the scraping part. Not sure if that's normal. Then they washed my hair and I have curly hair, so I wasn't sure if they use a specific shampoo / conditioner based on your hair type but I would hope it's good quality being a head spa. But I felt that the quality / texture of my hair after using their products wasn't as good as the products I use. After washing, they also use this steam thing that completely covers your scalp, and it made my face really hot and felt like it was burning a part of my scalp (after how hard they were scraping). After a certain point the steam was way too hot and hurt my head so I asked her to take it off and she did, The lady was very sweet. They also include a little massage on your neck, shoulders and chest which was nice. Overall I enjoyed the experience, but I do feel they were a little rough, but the lady that worked on me did work hard and was very sweet.

Their voicemail says to text. The person responding said to go to their booking service or call in.

I was really looking forward to experiencing this spa especially after the TikTok campaign. I had questions so I called and got their voicemail, which said to text. So I did. I went to the website as instructed booked but it didn't give me the option to book two around the same time. I let them know and they call. I spoke with Lee who immediately put all error on the end user, me. And he contributed that way through the entire call so I explained based on his service I want to cancel. He hung up. I call again to make sure it's canceled and I get a refund and this time he gaslit me telling me we already had that conversation, which we did not because he hung up. When I called him out he said it'll be canceled and refunded and then hung up again. At no point did I raise my voice. My partner also called to get it sorted and Lee said he was the manager and told him I was whiney, did not listen, and didn't know what I was talking about. Terrible service. I highly recommend they replace Lee or give him customer service training because I will not go or recommend their services until they do.

I've tried multiple head spas in Az and no one is doing it like HeadsUp Spa. Ask for the Vietnamese woman with a short black bob and glasses! She is the BEST! It was the closest if not better than the water spas I went to in Vietnam. My scalp and hair felt so clean afterwards and they actually massage your scalp down to the back of your neck too. Service was excellent. The receptionist was so sweet and helpful too. It was a little pricey but i went to one in Phx that was $75 with my girlfriends and would have gladly paid extra to go back to heads up again. They actually blow dry your hair here too! Treat yourself and check them out!

It was wonderfully relaxing! They massaged and scrubbed the scalp with different instruments that generated a multitude of fabulous sensations. It was followed by a shoulder/hand massage. I think a heated bed would have given it 5 stars. I just got a little cold about 60 min in.

I've been there 3 times after meeting them at the Asian Festival in Mesa. They are professional and competent. Tori is amazing, the most incredible woman I have ever met. She is highly educated. When I went in for a treatment on my birthday, I asked for a photo when I came on my birthday, they took it, but never sent it, and made me feel awkward for asking for it. At one point I was telling many people about them. Now, due to personal reasons, I feel uncomfortable going there. This isn't to say you would not have a good experience.

I had my first experience at Heads-Up Spa. Sunshine did a great job. I felt relaxed, and my hair is shiny and super soft.

Went for an impromptu blowdry, though it was very much needed. They treat you with an amazing…read morehairwash, and the extra products used are mindblowing and super relaxing, sometime, you just need that extra pampering for your hair! I have thick curls and need alot of attention for my hair and I was pleasently surprised with the service. Since it was my first time here, i was a bit skeptical with the styling (there are so many, so i left it to the stylist to choose for me, seeing the texture of my hair and my face cut!) I was also pressed on time as my appt ran late.. but the stylist did an excellent job and it looks like my hair got a make over! I ended up purchasing their monthly offer and I already know it'll be worth it! The place is perfectly located and easily accessible and the indoors, its just cozy comfy and adorable! My hair feels soft, classy, silky, bouncy and just brand new!

Went with my cousins as we were getting our hair styled for a concert that evening. We had 12pm…read moreappointments and we were happy they could take all 4 of us at once. We checked in and I liked the vibe. I've never been to a Drybar since I'm comfortable curling my hair by myself but my cousin wanted to treat us. I already took a shower and washed my hair so I told my hairstylist, Hailee that I just needed it curled. There are laminated printouts of different hair styles you can choose from and you can even combine some styles, just explain it to your hairstylist. I told Hailee a couple of the styles that I wanted, that I wanted volume on the top so if she could tease the back and to start off with the big barrel curling iron. I told her my hair falls after the night but since it's a drier climate with less humidity, I'd see how it would do tonight? She said she'd dry-style it since I didn't need a wash. My cousins had a wash and style. Hailee started curling my hair after removing some tangles but didn't use any styling products like mousse or spray? I thought using a hot iron on your dry hair is a no-no?? I let her do her thing and when I noticed it wasn't holding the curl and that I knew it wouldn't for the long night, I asked her to switch to a smaller barrel. She was able to curl it albeit dry again w/o styling products and then got to the teasing part. She used a thinner brush and began teasing but it wasn't looking good and looked lop-sided. I mentioned that shouldn't she use hairspray then tease it to give body? That's how other hairstylists begin in my experience. When she saw I wasn't happy, she asked for a woman named Alicia. Alicia introduced herself and said she was a Master Educator so she showed Hailee what to do. I told her I had fine hair and she assured me she'd make it look nice and that she understands my hair as it's like the texture of her mom's. By the time Alicia was involved, my cousins were already finished. I looked at their hair and they all looked nice. I ended up using the curling iron myself and fixing the left side so it had a rounded curl with volume esp. since I have long hair. I took the hairspray and showed her that I needed to spray it underneath. I sprayed all over to set it and was on my way. Hailee only has over a year experience so I get that she's still learning. Just note that if you want something professional, request an experienced stylist. After all, you're paying for it. Hailee was polite and professional and so was the rest of the staff.

I had a disappointing experience at this Drybar location that left me feeling really discouraged…read more I came in for a wash and blowout and requested the "Southern Comfort" style with as much volume as possible -- big, bouncy curls. I also explained to my stylist that I'm currently recovering from major surgery and was only four days post-op, which is why I came in for the service since I'm unable to wash my hair myself right now. My stylist was very sweet, but the service itself felt rough during the wash and blow-dry. When the blowout was finished, I was honestly shocked at how underwhelming the result was. There was barely any curl, very little volume, and my hair was frizzy and poofy rather than smooth and polished. It looked nothing like the style I requested or what I've received at Drybar in the past. Because I was already feeling lightheaded and exhausted from surgery recovery, I didn't have the energy to address it in the salon and decided to just go home. However, I called the salon shortly after leaving to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the conversation with the manager, Bailey, made the experience even worse. She immediately came across as defensive and cold rather than empathetic. She told me she would call me back before the end of the day, but I never received a call. During the conversation she questioned why I hadn't said something while I was still there so another stylist could fix it, which felt dismissive given the circumstances I had already explained. I understand that things don't always go perfectly with services, but the way concerns are handled makes all the difference. The lack of empathy and follow-through left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed enough that I will not be returning.

Highly recommend Drybar. I have 4C hair, so I called ahead and requested a stylist experienced with…read moretextured hair--they had a few options.
