I really want to give Wendy a huge compliment. I'm not a review person and quite lazy to do that but also at the same time I wouldn't want her to be booked too much so I can have her. I think leaving her name in reviews would make it hard to make appointments with her haha  Wendy is super professional, knowledgeable, attentive, caring, listening and just amazing! I am a registered nurse working in a hospital, have been in this job for 15 years. I always think nurses should put their emotions and personal lives aside when they come to work to take care of patients and save their lives.  I've had quite a few experiences at different places for massage and waxing etc and have met staff who look just total different person each time I go. I try to believe maybe they're having a bad day or something not so good is going on with them so I don't get bothered. But still it impacts me as a customer when I want to give myself a good selfcare time especially when spending money on it.  From that point, Wendy's mindset is really professional and so different from any other people I've met along in my beauty journey and I value that a lot. Oh and as an aesthetician I can't complain anything about her at all. She makes my skin glow and shine, her massage was great, she has a great skill to talk, she is easy to talk to, she made me feel so comfortable and relaxed during the whole time, she's humble but confident at the same time, has good knowledge about skin, she washed her hands after foot massage before coming back to facials (which I think is like "of course!" but there were/are so many aesthetician who don't do that surprisingly) and that means she's aware of good hygiene.  She is just a gem that the owner needs to try hard to keep. My wife got me a facial here for my birthday. I had never had one before, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. But I have to say this place lives up to their name. Ambiance is tranquil and peaceful throughout the whole experience- from the time I walked into the waiting room to the time I walked out. Lots of good energy in this place. My facial was amazing. It came with a scalp and arm/hand massage. Very relaxing. Vet zen. The staff were all very professional. I'll probably go back for another facial and may even consider a membership. I was excited to try an independent masseuse. I received a gift card here and like to support local. However, wow. Not a good experience. After 15 minutes past my scheduled time I asked the receptionist if they knew when we would begin. He said let me check. Felt like he didn't even know what time I was scheduled. I told the massage therapist some issues I was having. I felt like I was at a chiropractor not massage. The room was freezing. I had a fan over head blowing directly on my face. I have had lots of massages some of these techniques were ones I have never experienced. It was like let me push your pressure points as hard as I can. I even cramped up in the middle of it. Her response was I'm not drinking enough water. That may be, but never happened before. I actually left feeling worse then I did when I came in. Two days later and my neck is sore to the touch. It literally hurts. At end the she used a towel to pull my neck. I have seen something similar but she had no regard that I have ears. Towel practically ripped one off. The spas were open again in the Phoenix area, it was my birthday and I was looking to pamper myself. I checked on Yelp for some local spas and I was looking for a facial and massage combo for the right price. I came across Touch of Tranquility early on and I gave them a call. I found a few specials online for a great price. I called to book my appointments and to confirm the price, it seemed too good to be true. They said that since I was a first time customer, they could give give me an even better deal. It cost me $129 for a 60 minute massage and facials. What a great deal. It made me feel less guilty about spending money on myself! When you first walk in, it is a nice environment with the receptionist right there at the front. She had given me a call because I was running a few minutes late and she gave me directions, thank goodness. When you pull into the plaza go right and it is right there. Plenty of parking within the plaza. I would suggest getting there a little bit early if you're a first time customer because you do have to fill out quite a bit of information including COVID-19 related information, too. There are no spa amenities in terms of a locker room, steam room, or sauna and I knew that ahead of time because I asked. They are very kind and professional. I was greeted by Lori Who started with a 60 minute massage. There are not different kind of massages to choose from so she asked me right away what exactly I was looking for. I told her that prior to COVID-19 I travel 80% of the year and my body has a hard time recuperating from all of the travel, plus the fact that I am athletic my muscles are very tight, usually. I appreciated the conversation prior to. Because I showed up a little late she did say that we might have to cut the massage a few minutes short in order to accommodate the facial immediately following it, but she said it wouldn't matter too much we might only lose about five minutes, which was fine because that was my bad. She did a fantastic massage and always checked in to see how comfortable I was since I did tell her to go as hard as she needed to to get through the muscle and I would tell her if it was too much, which it never was. We had a great conversation and I had a lovely experience. When my massage was over, I switched rooms and I greeted Brittany next-door for my 60 minute facial. Similarly, she did tell me about the various add-ons that they had but basically it is a custom facial. We had a little bit of a conversation prior to the facial and she asked me what kind of skin care products I use and what my skin concerns were. She catered everything to what I needed and she also recommended a serum for me on the way out. It was the perfect serum but it was $120 which is almost as much as the massage and facial cost. I felt bad, but I was on a birthday budget so I didn't purchase it. Brittany taught me about the ABC's of skin care and I wanted to let Brittany and Lori know that my birthday present at Lowe's ended up being a lemon tree. Inside joke/story! They both really wanted to know what my birthday surprise was at Lowe's! Overall, this was a great birthday experience. Relaxing, easy, and very affordable. Sad to say that this place didn't work out for me personally. I was gifted this one hour massage by great friends of mine who swear by this place and encouraged me to book ahead of time to get scheduled with a good therapist. I failed to ask them who they typically see. (I'll edit this post once I can get those details) Good location, quiet tranquil lobby, good interaction with front desk guy. Massage room had quiet and peaceful vibe. Those are my pros. I was asked to undress to my comfort level and get on the table. Therapist gave me privacy for this but did take quite some time to come back. Not the worst thing that occurred. Prior to leaving me to undress she confirmed I preferred firm pressure which was noted on my questionnaire. When I said yes I got the sense that she was annoyed by that. (Just my perception) Therapist came back and started strong. There didn't seem to be any "warm up period" to ease in. She went right for it and was never gentle with any of the massage. Truly felt like I was at a chiropractor the whole time with a therapist goal to get each of my joints to crack. I didn't realize that's what I get for requesting firm pressure. I didn't mind the pressure but her technique was just off from what my expectation was. She did ask if pressure was ok, which it was mostly. It was the manipulation of my extremities and joints that was less then relaxing. At one point I did tell her "ok that hurts". She didn't let up but rather told me well that because your are so tense and are working against me. My response was because it hurts. She still did not let up and told me I needed to relax and let my body be like jello, again my response was "well that hurts". She continued to argue and I could get the sense that she was annoyed that I was tensing up. She seemed to be pretty aggressive with each technique and I wanted to cut the session short but stayed hoping the relaxing part would happen. Unfortunately it never happened for me. I have Prby more then 50 massages in my life (had monthly memberships for years) and always request firm pressure. I have a family member who is a massage therapist as well and maybe for this reason have different experiences and expectations. I got the sense therapist was annoyed by me not being the rubbery client where she can just do whatever. Again- just my perception. Come to find out my therapist is likely the owner and has many years of experience. This is where I struggled even more with my expectation and experience. Based on prior reviews I also expect a rebuttal to this post . If not I truly hope it's because Kathleen reads this and sees it as constructive criticism. I was hoping for relaxing experience and I left stressed and unfortunately irritated. My specific experience with you was not gentle or calming. I wish I could give this place 5 stars because I've gotten multiple massage from them and love it. However, I went in today with my mom and my massage was good but hers was awful. She started crying the second we stepped outside. We just got back from a long vacation were we walked 4+ miles a day and my mom asked for her feet and lower back to be worked on primarily but still a little of a full body massage. She said her back was never massaged once, barely touched her feet, and claimed her hips were the issue when that's not what my mom asked for at all. My mom said her working on her hips actually shot more pain up her back and she now feels 100x worse than she did before she got her massage. She said it was a waste of her time. She wasn't in pain when she went in for her massage but left in pain. I feel bad leaving this review but I have to for my mom's sake since hers was that horrendous. read more

I called recently to try to schedule an appointment and use that credit towards massage but they said I have $0 credit in my account. It took over a week to get ahold of them again.. Kelly is a little condescending on the phone but not enough to call her out on it. I've been to this location probably a dozen times and won't go back. This used to be my go to massage spa in Gilbert. Unfortunately, after my recent visit, I will be taking my business elsewhere. My therapist, while nice, would not stop talking during the 60 minute massage. I didn't want to be rude, so didn't say anything, but inside wanted to gently say to her: stop talking and let me enjoy the massage! She lost track of time, and ended up not massaging the front half of my body. REPEAT: she turned me over and no massage thereafter. Whaaaat? I was beyond disappointed, but didn't say anything as it's awkward to be naked and make any constructive comments. Instead of apologizing or offering to extend my massage to cover all areas, she ushered me out of the room. The massage pressure was also not DEEP TISSUE, as I had requested. I asked once for more pressure, to no avail. All in all, a waste of money and effort, not to mention needless frustration. I will never be back. There are too many other wonderful massage spas in this area to accept subpar service. So sad, as this used to be the spot to go. read more

And i had no idea all the neglect would lead to my face in a complete drought!!!!! i was seeing more dehydration lines and was noticing how ick my face was looking/feeling! i did some research on what would be the best solution for quick and easy results and came across the hydrafacial. IT WAS AMAZING! Sarah was so patient and explained the all benefits of the facial before and even answered all my questions about it throughout!! I had an easy time making an appointment for both of them, which is no small feat because I tend to try to schedule things last minute. Both therapists were exactly as expected, which is also no small thing. I like deep tissue massages and it's hard to find someone that can give a good one. I have had great luck with that here. My facial was amazing. It's the first time I've ever had one where I didn't break out afterwards. My skin looked amazing directly afterwards and continued to look amazing. The only complaint I have about this place is that every time I've come here I've had to wait 5-10 minutes to check in and to pay. The receptionist always seems to be on the phone, away from the desk, or helping another client out. I don't mind waiting a couple of minutes, but their waiting room is small and it's annoying to have to sidestep people constantly just to pay and get out. Maybe it's time to get two receptionists? We brought my mom here for her birthday. The place is very clean, great ambiance and my massage itself was very relaxing. My Massueus did a great job with the perfect amount of pressure. I asked for medium but at times would ask for her to go deeper which she did. I left with my muscles feeling like they've been worked which is the way I prefer after a massage. I have had very light massages where I've felt nothing after but just felt like I was rubbed down. So I was very satisfied with my experience here. The best way I can describe my facial - meh. The place was beautiful and I had high expectations. I love a facial, I get them frequently and this was my first facial here and it was probably my least favorite one I've ever had. When I pay $120+ I expect my facial to be different than anything I can do at home. She applied the product, great. No facial massage, just simply applied the product then took it off. Okay great I can do that myself at home lol. I also pay $85 for a dermaplane and my face is still so hairy. The lip wax was a nice touch, I will say that. That's 1 star. The other star is the lady, Heather, was super nice. The brought up a foot massage and I said oh yes sounds good. I asked if she did extractions, she said yes. Then said we can skip the foot massage and I'll do extractions instead. Okay........ why not both. Anyway the place was fine but it was the most underwhelming facial I think I've ever had. I should be up-front and say I don't like massage. It hurts me. A lot. I do not find it relaxing. For me it's about fixing problems, working out problems. I do massage in conjunction with chiropractic to try to stay pain-free in my daily life. So we decided to try this place. One nice thing up-front is that they don't do the contract thing. I hate that. I don't want a monthly charge whether I go or not, and having to give notice if I want to stop (and I have to go at least a year before I can stop). Touch of Tranquility does NOT do that. So that's a plus right there. The massage itself is tricky. First, it likely will depend on whom you get. My massage therapist was fine. She asked several times if I was "OK", because it does hurt. Even though I specified neck and shoulders and back, she did spend time on my legs which I thought was pointless. My problems are always neck, back, and shoulders. Next time I'll be more definitive to ignore everything else. I'll go 4 stars this time, but after another visit or two I may revise. I haven't decided yet if this is my new massage place, but it might be. read more
