HORRIBLE service. Tried to buy two hats but the three employees just stood there talking to each other while me and three other customers tried to get them to pause and make eye contact so we could ask them for something. Finally one of the other customers just asked them and they looked super annoyed. After a few more minutes I just left. What a joke. read more

I usually don't post reviews but today is my exception. I went to the fashion valley lids in San Diego to exchange a padre hat and encountered Pat. Pat was one of the worst I've dealt w in customer service ever! Today they opened at 11, I got there at five after 11 the doors were locked but there was a guy behind the register so I figured they'll be open in a couple minutes waited till 11:15 they still weren't open so I tapped on the window and asked when they were opening and he yelled through the window when I get around to it!!! When you get around to it???? finally at 11:20 he swung the door open as hard as he could and glared at me as he did it. When I went up to the counter not a hi not a sorry for opening late not a word just glared at me. I asked if the padre hats behind the counter were the only ones in the store and he said yep. I didn't like them for myself so called my husband in to see if he liked them (because online purchases need to be exchanged not refunded) and the whole entire time Pat was trying to look at me all hard like he was a tough guy and I should be scared of him! HA the only people that should be scared of Pat are the people he works for!!! Pat is a detriment to your business! All him trying to act hard and tough did was make me write this review and go somewhere else like Sports Fever or a Dicks sporting goods next time I want a new hat! I was informed the hats arrived and were ready to picked up in the Fashion Valley Store, when I arrived, only two of the hats were there. I was promised they would be shipped to my home. They never arrived. I called today, a full month later to check on the status and the manager, "Allen" at the Fashion Valley store was rude, and said he would "check the mail" today and "if they didn't arrive today, we could discuss a refund." He was condescending, interrupted, and raised his voice. It is ridiculous to have someone with this attitude in customer service. When I told him, I highly doubted that if the hats didn't arrive after three weeks, that it was unlikely, they would arrive today, he interrupted again and said he would call. He didn't seem to listen or save the time and patience to understand or solve the problem. read more

Got matching lids. No shame. These are made of leather, and the caramel color looks surprisingly nice. This place had a ton of selections, although I wish they had a lot more SD hat varieties. Oh well! I'm satisfied with my purchase. read more

horrible service. waited outside for over an hour while they kept embroidering hats for customers and kept them waiting inside to receive them for 15+ minutes at a time. seemed like they wanted to work as little as possible. when it was my turn to enter after waiting for an hour or more they said they had to close the store but were still allowing people inside to browse. i can't believe i waited over an hour to buy one of their hats and contribute to their sales just to get the door slammed in my face lol. read more

The service was actually VERY friendly and helpful, and we felt that they had a great selection of warmer hats. Unfortunately, they charged us $5 without our authorization as follows ... "hey, do you have a Lids card?", no, "it'll save you 20% on everything today", great. Hours later and reviewing the receipt ... they charged $5.00 for this stupid Lids card we'll never use again, and we only got the 20% on a couple of the hats. We saved $4.30 over all on four hats, because we weren't expecting the $5.00 charge. Boo to you, Lids! read more

This place is aweful. I was looking for a certain size hat, I called them to see if they had it. The guy that answered the phone said yes. . . I dont think he even checked. A 45 minute drive late, I walk in and there are 2 guys working (probably stoned of their ass) They did not have the size I asked for. I was really annoyed so I called and asked to speak with the manage. The guy said "I AM THE MANGER" Dude. . . .No you are not!!! Instead of taking responsibility for making a mistake they tried saying I called the wrong store. I said, no I called this store and YOU answered the phone. . . . Pretty good hat selection at this lids. Sadly this is he second time I have been where they didn't have a San Diego hat in 7 3/8. The staff is pretty decent but the store is small and they haven't had my size twice which has been a bummer. read more

There were two people working here. The woman was really stand offing and arrogant. Not helpful an made me feel uncomfortable there. However the man there was nice and did the exchange for my hat. Went to the All Star game but they were sold out of the special edition LA hat that I wanted. Stopped by Lids the next day and they had several in my size alone. I tried on a few to make sure I got the best fit possible. They give you a 2nd hat for 1/2 price so I found something cool and unique that I probably wouldn't have purchased otherwise. Went to this location looking for a certain hat. The hat I was looking for was at the store and I asked the worker Craig if they had my size. He handed me a stack of hats and not knowing that my size was the first hat I sat there with a puzzled look waiting for him to help me. He finally gave a gesture of pushing the hat towards me with no words spoken. I tried the hat on and thought it was a bit snug. I asked if there was one size up just to try the difference. Craig replied "That hat already looks too big for you man." So disregarding his opinion I went to purchase the hat. Immediately Craig started bending the bill of my hat telling me I need to "shape" it. How about your employees don't touch a customers purchase without first asking if its ok to start bending and misshaping a hat. Also was asked if I had a Lids card. I replied "yes, a long time ago." Craig preceded to look up my account and then went ahead and directly charged my card an extra $5.00 without consent. Get these f**kin kooks out of here and send them back to the lame town they came from!!! read more

This store is great. They have a great selection of hats and the employees are very helpful and kind. I came here after having a bad experience at the San Ysidro store. We got a few hats. When we left we realized we didn't get the discounted price we were supposed to on one of the hats. We went back, they apologized and refunded the difference without any hassle. They were very happy to help everyone in the store and made sure everyone was finding what they were looking for. I will get all my hats from this store from now on. Thanks guys. read more

Great selection like any Lids store. Employees need some etiquette though. There were two guys, one of them was helping another customer (he sounded helpful, but needed to learn enthusiasm).The available worker to did offer his assistance, all while on his iPhone though. He was knowledgable on sizes, pretty helpful. I was looking for a SnapBack but ended up with a fitted. 3 stars for being on the phone. It's the little details that count. read more

I should have read the review prior to going to the store to buy a hat, called first to make sure they had what I wanted, I got a coupon from Google offers and when I went to purchase the hat the clerk took the coupon ripped it up and said that it was expired. I didn't get my $5.00 off that I was expecting and they were making rude comments about the team hat I purchase.
