Went into Capland in Mission Valley to buy two Padres hats. The female sales associate told me the prices for both hats, but when it came time to pay she suddenly said the total was $119. That immediately sounded off, so I double checked the math myself. After realizing I caught the mistake, she quickly changed her tone and said she would "hook me up" and charge me only $100 instead. The receipt clearly shows the actual total was $100 to begin with, so it really felt like she was trying to overcharge me and only backed off because I noticed. I work out at 24 hour fitness right next to this kiosk and while they have a large selection of hats you can't actually purchase anything. It's just a fake business, maybe laundering money? I've tried for the last 3 days to pick up a hat after my workout but the person attending the kiosk is too busy on their phone to bother helping anyone, makes me wonder if they actually sell hats. Just order your hat directly from new era, this will be a huge waste of time and you'll get treated like shit. Right in the middle of the mall, this spot is easy to miss if you're walking with your head down. But if you happen to look up and you're looking for a hat, you won't be disappointed. I came here for some padres paraphernalia for my homeboy who loves hats but isn't from San Diego. Found a bunch with different logos and colors and it was hard to choose just one. Hats that I looked at ended up being around 30 dollars each. Happy I found what I looked for and I also ended up getting a lanyard for myself. I was looking for a specific Chargers cap to give as a gift to my cousin. I immediately went to Lids but, unfortunately, they didn't carry the specific hat I needed. As I was about to leave the store, another customer directed me to Capland. Costumer service was great but their merchandise is overpriced. As I was taking off the price tag before wrapping the gift, I noticed that they placed their price over the original. So.. It is unfortunate that I have to write this review. I purchased a new era hat about a week ago from cap land. My first impression was great I have actually bought a couple of hats from them before. Here is the problem after only having the hat for 3 days I noticed that it was falling apart at the seem. I thought no biggie just go in and they will exchange it for a new one. I mean I did pay $37! Well I was wrong after the lady would not even look at me, she just kept looking at the seem that was coming out like it was a baby dinosaur that was giving birth? I had to ask her to look me in the eyes and actually tell me she would not exchange it. She said that they don't guarantee. I get it had I had the hat for 3 months and it fell apart that's different. 3 days!!!!! So I left pissed off that I just payed for a piece of sh*t! And supported a bad business owner. Never again.
