Come here to ruin your day, customer service is the worst, and that's saying a lot because I'm a very patient and lenient person.
For clarification this is for the tiny Lids shop in Pearlridge, not the larger "Lids Locker Room" We went to both and the experience varied greatly.
There were no other customers at this location at this time. My Nephew had a few ( yes just a few) questions before committing to a hat. Every question he asked was met with a condescending tone or remark and she gave the impression that she was wasting her precious time.
I already hated the atmosphere but I didn't want to ruin the day for my Nephew. He then chose a hat, and then wanted to custom embroider it. LOL I just wanted to get out of there but this was what he wanted. He wasn't sure at first if he wanted text or a graphic ( an additional $17 -$20+) So as he was thinking over his decision, she kept talking to him like he should know the process. In the most condescending, patronizing way she explained, text is not a graphic, graphics are pictures, text are words like this *points to text*...If you could hear the tone used. He was deciding the color, she brought out a chart with the colors. He wanted to see how it would look in red, she replies snarkily "there's red isn't there" like WTH lady you are grown , why are you speaking to children this way? This was supposed to be a fun quick process and it turned into a very painful annoying exchange. Her tone continued this way through the whole interaction, she was talking to him like he should know better and at the same time he was dumb for asking questions. I felt my blood boil over several times but I didn't want to ruin my Nephew's day or embarrass him. It was so passive aggressive, that if I blew up it would be on me, and I was holding back so much if I said anything .. it would just come flying out. After that ordeal we signed the order, she didn't tell us an estimate of when it would be done and just had us leave a number. I left there with the grossest feeling, I kept it to myself not wanting to spoil the day. ( Poop show doesn't end here)
THANKFULLY my other nephew decided to get his hat at the bigger 'Lids Locker Room' store a few doors over. Going in there was like being cleanse of the evil muck that I was just immersed in. The young lady employee in the hat was an Angel in my eyes at this point lol. Seriously she was so sweet and knew how to talk to children and was very patient, and their store was much busier too. Such a pleasant experience this time around that I felt guilty about my other Nephew having to go through what he did. The nice employee had us sign the order and let us know it should be ready within 30-40 minutes.I set the timer, we went shopping for a good hour and came back to pick up the hats.
Went to the heavenly larger store first, and was greeted with a friendly "Are you ready to see how your hat turned out?" My Nephew was ecstatic, he loved it. I really am grateful for this awesome employee for her positivity.
We begrudgingly made our way to the smaller poopie Lids store.
Once we stepped in the rude older lady employee left.. which was confusing.
The male employee asked us if anyone called us to tell us if it was ready, we said no, but its been over an hour so we assumed it would be done. He then informed us " Oh I think she's about to start on it"
WHAT???? For a whole hour she didn't start on it??? WTH.. The bigger, much busier store finished right on time and provided a much more pleasant experience.
I see her walking back from the other store with green thread in her hand *face palm* Really???? I was appalled, I endured her rudeness and she is incompetent too?? Like you can't be rude AND lazy.
I assumed her rudeness some what came from a place of passion for her job... I gave her too much credit. That was the icing on the cake for me, I had to remove myself from there and took my Nephews to tilt.
(My Boyfriend went in asked her when it would be done and she told him 30 minutes )
I let my Nephews know that I was disappointed ( without showing how annoyed I was) that the store didn't start on it yet. My Nephew responded " Yeah and that lady was rude and unhelpful too" lol that's when I knew for sure it wasn't just me. I felt so guilty that he had such a lousy experience.
I had to explain to him that usually when people behave that way they are unhappy and miserable inside and it just leaks out like poison. I told him let's not let it ruin our day and make us unhappy people too.
That lady needs to get her act together, seriously. You really shouldn't be rude and then on top of that super incompetent.. like bruh
So please, if you have the option, go to the bigger Lids store instead, I don't know if they swap employees but I would avoid this shop and this particular employee. May positivity change you somehow so no-one else has this horrible experience read more
