First thing I walked in to see a display table filled with various hot items and of course it was all about the Dodgers of various item but I liked the fun and cute shirt of Ohtani with his name in kanji is cool but as I browsed around I noticed as tiny collegiate section and the Oregon Ducks will always be a special place in my heart though wished they had more selections. There was a friendly staff Nick who was so nice as I enjoyed browsing around was very nice and knowledgeable making it nice to shop for various items. Monday, 12/01/25 2:53pm I had the worst experience with an employee at Lids third floor Ala Moana Shopping Center. First, no greeting when I walked in and the music she was playing on the boombox was very loud. As I looked at the 49rs hats I asked her kindly which was the newest model and she points at one that I know is an old style and said "this one." Then she continues to work on the sewing machine. As I made my decision I told her politely I was ready to be rung up. No response and she continued threading the sewing machine. She finally comes over to the register with an attitude so I asked her what did I do wrong to make her treat me the way she did as a customer: She lashed out at me and said I'm the one with the attitude and said she doesn't want to sell me the two hats I had decided to buy. She then told me to get out of the store. I asked to speak to the store manager and she rudely said she was the store manager. With her attitude I didn't believe she was the manager so I went to the back store room door and knocked hoping a store manager or another employee would come out. Unfortunately she was the only one in the store at the time. After much thought I assumed she was having a bad day or I caught her at the worst possible time of the day for her. I walked up to her and apologized and asked if we could start all over and asked her to wring up my merchandise. She refused twice but finally after much thought she did. She was trying very hard not to get upset and I finally got a little smile from her at the end of the transaction. I later went to the Lids Locker Room where I always receive excellent customer service from the entire staff. I told them about my experience upstairs and they were very apologetic. They told me the woman who I was talking about was the assistant manager and not the store manager. They even asked what can they do to make things right. Now this is what you call customer service! I also shop at Lids mall level. The manager there has been there for many years and is always friendly and helpful. Had I shopped at Lids mall level or Lids Locker Room from the beginning I wouldn't have experienced this bad service. read more

We're in the second week of the NFL preseason. I needed a new Cowboys cap with my last name embroidered on the side. Where do you go to get that? Lids of course! You can find almost any cap you need here. They do all kinds of different embroidery. I got my last name embroidered for $10.99 extra in the Varsity font. They were running a special. It was a BOGO half off. I purchased my Cowboys cap and a Warriors cap. The staff here were friendly and helpful. I told the sales guy that I wanted the font that was on the back of the jerseys, which he told me was Varsity. Then, he measured the cap and told me the size of the fonts we could use. They use a computer system that controls the embroidery machine. They hook up the color of thread you want to the machine, press a button and the machine does the rest. Being a 100% hat guy, I always stop by to see what they have in stock. Sometimes they carry special edition NewEra MLB hats but they have almost every other sport covered as well. Fitted, low profile, truckers, rippers, snap backs, stretch, visors, the list goes on. This is a shout out to these two employees: Rodney & Addison. Excellent customer service. Although our team wasn't the team they cheer for, they were still very fun and enjoyed small talk and talked about their team and ours. Having been at other retail stores that despise our team and decrease their sales efforts, we were very happy with these two guys. Thanks for making our purchase a fun and easy one. I hit up this place today because I needed a rock and roll-inspired number to wear to the sneak preview of Rock of Ages that evening. I'm happy to say that Lids had the style I had in mind. They also carry a range of fedoras, straw hats to be worn in the sun, and sports caps. They also do on-site monogramming (but don't ask them to duplicate any copyrighted logos--big no no!). Prices are probably a tad higher than I would have expected given the mass-produced feel of most of the merchandise (all made in China). But if you need some special headwear to complement an outfit or costume, give these folks a try. Nothing great, but nothing horrible either. read more

This bottom store isn't as neat looking compared to the higher level store but I don't care. Walked in greeted right away and asked if needed assistance. No refunds without a receipt. Purchased Jan 29, 2016-Returned to store one week after purchase for a refund on new jersey with tags. Sales clerk told me to come back and speak to manager. Later when I returned to store manager was gone. I was told to come back for a second time. I returned again and was told my the check that he could not do it but the manager could refund to my credit card with my bank statement proof but clerk refused to give me manager's name. It has been back and forth since. Don't shop here!!!!! Not worth the hassle. Went to all three locations in ala moana center loved all of them.. The one located upstairs across footlocker good customer service brought and customized a snap back for my husband there... Then went to one located next to Cookie corner customer was also good brought a another custom snap back from there but got offered different options for designs than the first lids not sure if the other location didn't have that option or I just wasn't offered that.... Horrible service from store manager Sarah. I went to the Lids in Ala Moana Mall, on the third floor. I purchased a hat and discussed to have it personalized. After speaking with the employee and signing the form I was advised of a 1 hour wait time. When I returned to pickup my order I could see that it was still being worked on but it was not being done correctly. So I asked the employee if she was making the hat for me. She rudely replied Why am I asking? I told her that i can tell that it is my hat and that I asked for the letters to be stacked. she said that is not how its written on the form that I signed. I let her know that I discussed the layout with the other employee and he ensured me that it could be done. She again rudely replied that it was not what was sectioned on the form. I was tired of going back and forth with her So I asked to speak to the manager . Sadly she smile and said I hi my name is Sarah I'm the store manager how can I help you. Like really? She thought it was funny. So unprofessional. I told her that I didn't want the order anymore. She went along and started yelling and cussing at one of the employees because they didn't do there job correct when they took the order she never once apologized or try to rectify the problem. I go here often for most of my hats. They got all kinds of caps from classy fedoras, baseball, fitted, snap backs, flex fit, top hats, beanies, etc. They have a wide selection of MLB ones which is most of their inventory. They also have some other ones such as UH, Marvel Superhero themed, other college, etc. One of my favorite features that they have is their custom embroidery caps. They can practically put anything on the cap and they should have most of the designs that you are thinking of. They also have a lot of lettering and fonts to choose from. I used to do custom caps a lot back in the day but not so much anymore unless I really want and need to. They also have blank caps if you just want something plain and no design. The prices are not that bad. If you sign up to me a member, you get 20% any cap. Sometimes they have some bargain discounted caps on a separate table to choose from. I don't understand why people come here to buy their hats. Most of the designs are too funky or oversized and don't look good. Sometimes you just want a team had with the original colorways. I don't need a hot pink on purple with green stripes Dodger hat. And why do they only carry LA or NY or SF hats, there's other teams that people may actually follow. They do have a huge selection of hats, but 80% are designs I wouldn't wear or made by manufactures that I don't trust. I walked into the shop to support a local player who plays with the Notre Dame Irish. 25% off all items and more on the web. Clerk has advised me to check out their website, they insisted there are more stuff there that they don't have in their small petite store. On their web, i found great stuff. More so, shipping was free if you spent over $50... sweet, so i took advantage of that. Plus my items ordered came in on time and gives you tracking if you want. If it wasn't for the clerk, i would have paid more for a couple of hats and a figurine from my local retail store. The only thing i wish they could do better was represent the east coast teams like the Washington Redskins for me fellow employee likes his quarterback RGIII. Looked online and noticed the 50% off NFL head wear for Teams that were not going to the playoffs online and instore at participating stores. I called the Ala Moana store and asked if they are participating in this sale. I was told yes, I arrived the next day and found a hat I wanted, I asked the store clerk once more if they are participating in the sale as it was stated online, he said yes. The manager mind you was on a ladder within earshot stocking MLB hats. When I tried to purchase the hat it would not ring up at the sale price. He asked his manager if it was not an eligible hat, he was told no by the manager and that they are no longer participating in that sale. Being a Pro status member that has spent over $2k in the last year and a half , which they can see when you scan my card and see me points, I expected atleast a sorry sir for the miscommunication from the manager.
