Terrific beer and wine selection with a bar to sip while you shop if desired. The real asset though is the staff well trained and always helpful. I had expected to find higher pricing than normal, since it's at the beach, but everything seemed to be reasonably priced and inline with the pricing at other food lions. The location offered both cashiers and self check out options, so my interactions were rather minimal, but it as a good experience.

I have only good things to say about this Food Lion. I shop for groceries around 95% of the time…read morefrom this store. They have good products and pay attention to their displays and prices so that it is easy for me to make my choices. But, the reason I usually choose this store is the customer service. I experience great customer service all the time. If I ask someone where to find a product they not only tell me but they walk me to the correct location. I order my groceries online and pick them up later in the day. With the exception of a few items, I get what I order and packaged well in heavy paper bags. The employees who bring my groceries to the car are always friendly and insist on placing the items in my trunk so they will not be damaged. I do pickup 70% of the time now. To cover all the bases, check out is smooth and I have even come to enjoy self-checkout. I literally have no complaints. Any dissatisfaction I have is easily resolved by both the employees on the floor and/or management. And, yes, I look for good things to happen and I expect to receive good customer service. This store does not disappoint.

Food Lion refused to provide the turkeys this year at full price. No discount asked. Last year they provided them but made it very difficult as though they did not want to support this PURCHASE! This store takes our local money but does not want to be bothered to do a simple act of community support and love. I will no longer shop here which I did weekly! I hope others will join me in avoiding store that will not support out community. Goodbye Food Lion! By the way Lidl offered to support the procurement of the turkeys and provided the greatest support my friend has ever received in his many years of this charity. Shame on you Food Lion. This is a smaller grocery store that is clean and well-organized. I thought the prices were pretty good and was planning to stop back to shop on my way out of town, as the prices were less than I was used to, and I wanted those deals. This store carried items I hadn't seen before. But as it is smaller, the brands they carry are fewer than I am accustomed to, with a lot of the products. And other products had more selection than I could imagine, so maybe they order just what those who shop there want. I wanted to try the breakfast in the restaurant inside the store, too, as I really enjoyed my burger and fries. It will be my first stop in Beaufort on my next visit.

The produce section was not as plentiful as what we are accustomed to. Do Coastal Carolinians eat veggies? If so, I'd like to know where they shop for them. There were only 2 people running the check-out lines, both lines were wrapped all through the front of the store. We opted for the self-checkout, despite having a crap-ton if items. As expected, we were quicker than the folks in the line, even with a register that help needing assistance "your item does not match the weight, assistance is on the way". Geez! I heard it a million times. Some calibration may be needed on their scales. Nevertheless, we got most of what we needed and didn't kill each other before leaving.
