There are also a lot of treats and candy that reminded me of a Pier 1 or World Trade Market. And you can find some European brands of things you just can't find in regular stores. I see Lidl as someplace to go occasionally since they are out of the way for us but if we lived closer we would shop more regularly. Ok last thing, lots of people compare this to ALDI. I don't they really are different, the bakery is far better than anything at ALDI, they also sell lower end oddities like a Dollar store, and many German or EU food products. They do carry some of the low-end brands that ALDI sells and for both stores that's part of their value. Some folks are ok to have 3rd rate quality to save a little money. For us we are selective and I don't mind hitting several grocery stores to get the best that each offers.

My youngest granddaughter's eyeglasses kept slipping to the end of her nose so we stopped into Wal-Mart's Vision Center. We were instantly approached by Kelly who had the brightest, most genuine smile. She asked us how she could help. We explained that my granddaughter's glasses needed adjustment but they were purchased at BJs in Raleigh, however, she could not wait a week to have them fixed when she went back home. Kelly took them in the back and within minutes, they were fixed. I asked her what the charge was and she looked at my granddaughter and said, "Just one big smile." She got it - from all of us. Thank you, Kelly! You are an asset to the Vision Center!

I have only good things to say about this Food Lion. I shop for groceries around 95% of the time…read morefrom this store. They have good products and pay attention to their displays and prices so that it is easy for me to make my choices. But, the reason I usually choose this store is the customer service. I experience great customer service all the time. If I ask someone where to find a product they not only tell me but they walk me to the correct location. I order my groceries online and pick them up later in the day. With the exception of a few items, I get what I order and packaged well in heavy paper bags. The employees who bring my groceries to the car are always friendly and insist on placing the items in my trunk so they will not be damaged. I do pickup 70% of the time now. To cover all the bases, check out is smooth and I have even come to enjoy self-checkout. I literally have no complaints. Any dissatisfaction I have is easily resolved by both the employees on the floor and/or management. And, yes, I look for good things to happen and I expect to receive good customer service. This store does not disappoint.

Food Lion refused to provide the turkeys this year at full price. No discount asked. Last year they provided them but made it very difficult as though they did not want to support this PURCHASE! This store takes our local money but does not want to be bothered to do a simple act of community support and love. I will no longer shop here which I did weekly! I hope others will join me in avoiding store that will not support out community. Goodbye Food Lion! This is a smaller grocery store that is clean and well-organized. I thought the prices were pretty good and was planning to stop back to shop on my way out of town, as the prices were less than I was used to, and I wanted those deals. This store carried items I hadn't seen before. But as it is smaller, the brands they carry are fewer than I am accustomed to, with a lot of the products. And other products had more selection than I could imagine, so maybe they order just what those who shop there want. I wanted to try the breakfast in the restaurant inside the store, too, as I really enjoyed my burger and fries. It will be my first stop in Beaufort on my next visit.
