The food at the deli was great, the service less so. Despite placing an order online to avoid waiting in line, when we arrived at 3:30 (when our food was supposed to be ready, as we'd placed our order around 45 minutes earlier), the food wasn't ready. Our food (four subs) was STILL not ready for another 30 minutes. There was a steady line of in person customers, of course, but they had three workers actively making subs, and all three of them appeared to be prioritizing the in-person line. Only sporadically did they work on our online order, even though they were already behind on our order & those in line had only just arrived. Three other customers who had placed online orders arrived while we were waiting and were still waiting when we left. We finally got our last sub just as they finished serving their last customer in line. Again, this was 30 minutes after we had arrived, 30 minutes after our food was supposed to be ready, and fully an hour and 15 minutes past when our order had been originally placed. This was quite frustrating. I appreciate that the workers appeared to be doing their best, and they did apologize for the wait, which I also appreciate. But I could have gotten my food within 15 minutes if I had just gotten in line with everyone else. I'm not sure what the point is of having online ordering available, if the food isn't going to be ready when promised and the online orders are going to be so deprioritized compared to the in-person orders. Either they need to change their "ready by" times or they need to change their workflow. I will say, the sandwich, which was a vegan turkey situation, was absolutely delicious. I just wish I hadn't had to stand for 30 minutes and watch them make food for other people when our order had already been pending for longer than anyone in line. read more

Clean Publix! I just wanted to say thank you for my free birthday cake. I picked the Carrot Cake and it was delicious. What surprised me the most was that it was a big cake, not just a cupcake. Picked up some peach ice tea which was great. The cashier man was nice but didn't take the time to help me figure out the app. I finally figured it out so I could pay for my items. New to this app thing. Didn't know I would not get a receipt. He said it would be emailed but I asked for it and he gave it to me. read more

This has got to be the cleanest, nicest, well kept grocery store I've ever seen. We came down for a family vacation and ordered several meat / cheese / chicken salad / fruit trays to have at the AirBnB. I had never been in the store before, I'd never even heard of it because we're from the north. The manager talked to us. Employees showed us where to go to find anything we needed. I was very impressed. I wish Ohio had a Publix and not a nasty Kroger's that we currently have. See the pictures for these gorgeous food trays they put together. Ok, I'm as surprised as you are that someone is giving a supermarket a 5 star review, but I have to say, this Publix is really, really great and has improved immensely since just a year ago. Last year, we drove out to Lowe's as we weren't terribly impressed by Publix but whatever changes they've made, I hope they stick to it. The staff are LOVELY. So helpful, pleasant, eager to assist. The ramen and sushi are GREAT! My kids made us go back several times. The bakery had wonderful treats for them too and the rest of the store had a really comprehensive array of items. The wine section also had a really great array with prices that aren't overblown...I looked up quite a few and the prices were all within reason of expectations. If I were to nitpick, I would say they should step up their coffee game - the ones they have in stock aren't great so we had to get beans elsewhere. Their produce selection isn't always superb but we generally found more than enough to supplement what we didn't buy at Island Produce or other markets around. Thanks Publix! Very happy to have made you our primary store on this visit. We will do so again in the future. read more

We didn't want to go grocery shopping after spending 6 hours driving to our vacation destination so we placed a pickup order through Instacart at Publix. We had the fried chicken for dinner, which is amazingly delicious. The charcuterie board was incredible with top quality meats and cheeses. They will scan your id for beer and wine but its neat you can get that here too! The app makes pickup easy. The only down side is that they only have 2 parking spots for pickup orders and lazy ignorant people park there insteadof walking across the parking lot. read more

This market was squeaky clean and convenient. Stopped in for something quick to eat along with a few random groceries. They have a beautiful deli section along with craft cheeses, pre made salads, wraps and sandwiches. My Italian wrap was very fresh and delicious. The only bummer is there's no where to sit. This is the best supermarket I have found so far on Emerald Isle. Their staff is amazing. My Mom and I went in around 9:45 to get groceries not realizing they closed at 10. The manager politely told us that the store was closing at 10 but wanted us to take our time and finish our shopping. He told us not to feel pressured at all. I was really impressed by his professionalism and that of his staff. They were all so nice. This supermarket was so much closer to us than the others. We found it by accident when going to dinner earlier that evening. read more

This location is relatively new, very clean, and has a great layout. Had an awesome sandwich, and even better service at the deli today. You have to try the holiday flavor sub. Turkey with cranberry sauce, smoked gruyere cheese, bacon, mayo, and/or your favorite choice of toppings. Wow, i was blown away, almost want to go back in and get another one. With good fortune, Sadie will make your sub. Of several lunch time subs i have come for, she provided the friendliest service, and made my sub with the more love than anyone else has. We recently relocated to this area. Decided to check out the Publix supermarket. It is relatively new, very very clean, and carried items that my Philly-born husband loves, and my Cincinnati Skyline Chili. Needless to say, we were quite happy. The BIGGEST thing we noticed was that every employee we saw, smiled and greeted us. I mean EVERY employee. They even emptied my cart at check out, pushed the cart out and loaded the car. Honestly, it was the gold standard of customer service. I hope it continues, as I plan on doing my grocery shopping there since our initial experience was so awesome. So this review is based off the ramen station alone because the subs are great and everyone else in the deli is awesome. However, we've come to get ramen 3 times now and every single time (different times of the day I might add) they've been on lunch or break and no one can seem to find them or have any idea where they are. Maybe I'm being a Karen but to me this is ridiculous. What is the point of even being open if you're never there and won't reach anyone else in the deli how to make the food ! The customer service was great! Employees were sweet and attentive. Upon arrival, we were asked if we needed help finding anything. Once at checkout, they were good with efficiency and made sure things kept moving even with the high crowds. I accidentally dropped my container of sushi and was going to pay for it at checkout anyway rather than put disheveled sushi back on the shelf, but one of the employees went and switched it out for me which was highly appreciated. read more

Publix is the best supermarket by far in any state. Much better than The Pig, Food Lion Harris Teeter or Walmart. I'm glad to see so many opening up on the coast of North Carolina. The staff in any Publix is always friendly and walk you to the product your looking for. The shelves are nearly always full except for maybe milk on Sundays. Since I buy a lot of two for ones and look for deals shopping there I've very affordable for me. read more

We have been coming to Emerald Isle for years and this year we got the nicest surprise when we went food shopping! We were totally blown away by this gorgeous and amazing store! It's absolutely Immaculate! So clean and so well organized! The windows actually sparkle! The staff just could not be more friendly or helpful! Everyone had a big smile on their face and offered to help us find things! The deli gal was sweet as pie and so efficient-no wait at all! It's the absolute Gold Standard of customer service! The Manager that we saw, Carlos was so nice and helped us with an exchange and could not have been nicer! Note to Publix: All of your stores should be exactly like this one! Very nice clean newer grocery store. They help you out to your car with your groceries. Not something we experience in any grocery store in Ohio. The prices are higher, but we're on an island. We just went to your store because you are the only one in the area that sells Lingonberry preserves. I prefer it with my turkey for Thanksgiving. Trace 057175 Reference 1727521445 is on our ticket. We went straight to aisle 10, which seemed where it would be, and a female employee came right up behind us. Did not speak. My husband said as long as we were there let's check out the deli. That's the other side of the store. Looked at the pre-made cold subs, and there she was, right behind us again! She was following us! I told my husband we should leave. She walked past us at checkout, and I said hello, quite loudly, and she kept going and did not respond. I told Edna, the very nice cashier, that she had followed us. I will order my Lingonberry online next time I need it. We will not be back in your store. read more
