I've driven by this spot quite a few times over the past year and decided to stop by with some friends who came to spend 4th of July with us at Holden Beach. It will now be one of my favorite places to go when making a trip to the beach! Their heirloom tomatoes and delicious peaches from SC were incredibly juicy and sweet! The carton of blueberries are probably the sweetest I've ever tasted! They have a refrigerator stocked with containers of pimento cheese, frozen pies, local made sausages and cheeses. I also noticed that they sell bags of my favorite Amish popcorn kernels! Everyone was incredibly friendly. I will definitely be back!

I love having a little farmer's market right down the street from me, and the owners are very nice…read moreand personable (they even recognized me after I hadn't been there in almost three years, after moving back to town)! It's a smallish covered stand, maybe 15 feet long, with an additional air-conditioned room for their home-canned goods like beets, pickles, jams, relishes, etc. On my most recent trip I got tomatoes, lemons, green and yellow zucchini, pickling cukes, and jalapenos, but I've also gotten red potatoes, canned beets, green beans, peas (already shucked!), blueberries, cucumbers, strawberry bread, onions, okra, watermelon--and I know I'm forgetting some. I've been wanting to try some fresh eggs this year, but the super hot weather apparently isn't conducive to chickens laying eggs. I'd highly recommend a stop here--and be warned that it may become a go-to place for you, too! **CREDIT CARDS NOT ACCEPTED

A Topsail tradition for 50 years!…read more If you're lucky enough to visit Topsail (pronounce it 'Top-sul' like the locals) or better yet blessed to live on the island, then you'd do yourself a great favor by stopping in at Andrews Produce. Located at the corner of Island Dr and 2nd Ave (NOT 2nd Street) and open 7 days a week (even holidays) in season, from 9am-6pm. I always make a point to stop in multiple times a week for local produce and baked goods (get there early for the best bread selections) and the owners and staff make me feel like family. They have a good selection of fruits, vegetables, and jellies/salsas/sauces that makes sure you'll always find a little more than you planned on when you stopped. Cash only, so be prepared, but they will hold things to the side if you need to make a dash back home to get some. Limited parking is available on site.
