Wow! All I can say is this place is amazing. Went there thinking I was going to have to drop off my gun and wait a few weeks to get it back. They were able to do everything while I waited and the price was very reasonable. read more

Was initially quoted 3-5 day lead time. Tyler has had my gun for over 3 weeks and has stopped responding to emails. This is for the installation of a magazine tube and stock. read more

Unfortunately had a terrible experience here. There are 2 sides of this business: Tyler, the owner and John, a contract employee. Tyler is absolutely useless and has no idea what he's doing. I brought in a Mosin PU Sniper to be refinished and factory zero'd. Was quoted to take a month. 4 months later I ask what's up, they hadn't even started refninishing it. Finally get it back a month and a half later and Tyler did it completely wrong. He just indexed the scope turrets which I specifically said I didn't want. When I called him back to inquire why it was done wrong after 6 months, he gave me all sorts of attitude and said to bring it back. No explanation, just attitude. John said he'd take it over, since he's their dedicated ComBloc guy. 2 months later (after being promised a 1wk turnaround) they've still not touched it. Tyler refused to let John work on it, even though he knew he could. I requested a refund in-person during an office day for the scope zero since Tyler refused to do the work correctly or at all. Turns out, Tyler had left John in the shop with less than $50 in the register and was unreachable on the phone. Unreal how they botched a simple job. I'm sure if all you want is pinned mount or something you'll be fine, but DO NOT go here with anything of value or with any job beyond a pin/weld. Tyler if you read this, get your shit together. Hiding your business on Google to escape negative reviews is AWFUL optics. read more

Stay away. The owner is ok but the front desk John is a wild card. Couldn't find my item and exploded calling me an asshole for demanding my item back. In front of another customer. Worst service possible. Months in their possession with no proper apology. Unbelievable. read more

Tyler and John will go out of their way to get your firearm working right! Very impressed with their communication and effort to work with FRT supplier to get their system working right on my Sig Spear LT. Highly reccommend for all your gunsmithing needs! read more

Took two of my dad's childhood guns there to get them re blued. They had them there for 11 months and finally received them back three weeks ago. They have been indoors and not in the elements and they are already starting to rust ! I'm am very disappointed in this. I don't mind paying to have a job done right but every turn has been problematic. My gun store shipped the guns to the repair shop last November 2023. My gun store had to call up to liberty repeatedly to get an update from them. They told use the guns would be ready in June, then July, then they would be ready in August, and finally arrived three weeks ago. Between the long wait times, guns starting to rust after three weeks, and the cost, I would suggest looking elsewhere for repairs. read more

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I came in today and was immediately helped. Not a ton of inventory of firearms to purchase, but super knowledgeable for gun repair. read more

Fast work and reasonable prices. I had them install a couple suppressor mounts. It got done right and on time. He used a lathe and gauges to ensure concentricity, which is superior to using only a bore rod. There are so few options for this sort of work, it's great that this place exists in Austin. read more

Great professional work! Super nice guys . Added a red dot to my 9mm these guys did an amazing job great price and quality! Highly recommended I will be bringing my firearms here. read more

We always try to go local and help small businesses but went in the other day just to get a quote on switching out a handguard on our AR-15 Diamondback... guy wasn't at all interested so quoted $9600! Ridiculous. Went somewhere else and got the job done. read more

Tyler did an excellent job repairing my 9mm Springfield Hellcat red dot sight. I dropped the gun and damaged the red dot sight, and he was able to quickly and very reasonably make the repair. I would highly recommend him and his shop for any gun needs you might have. read more

Choose liberty for my first FFL transfer, Tyler had me in and out very quickly. Was a very smooth and easy process. I came back in 5 minutes later because I noticed a missing pin, (not liberty's fault at all, they are simply responsible for the transfer of the firearm and I did not purchase the gun threw them) Tyler confirmed my suspicion and didn't hesitate to find an extra pin he had laying around to put into my gun at no extra cost. Amazing service and I will be coming back. read more

I was looking for a gunsmith to have a 50 year-old family rifle re-blued. Liberty didn't have a ton of reviews like BlackJack up north but from the first time I reached out they treated me like my project mattered. Tyler at Liberty is first class & knows his sh*t. He gave me great turnaround, as he worked my piece into another project he was working on. Their shop is what you'd expect from a good 'ol Texas neighborhood gunsmith. read more

Did a great job replacing the sites on my 1911.. friendly service- called me to let know they weren't opening when roads iced over

Tyler has done a few things to my Glock-19 and I couldn't be happier. Enjoyed hanging out while watching him work.

Tyler is unbelievably knowledgeable and helpful. I had an extremely poor experience at a gun range down south multiple damaged items with no response from the gunsmith shop. Tyler not only helped put my mind at ease but helped me order specialty items specifically for my lower. I will be returning for any and all firearms work I need done. 5 stars. read more

Fast and great service. I picked up an FFL item and also brought a slide with a stripped screw, which they extracted for me at no extra cost. Definitely recommended! read more

Did a great job tuning up my Glock. Fast turnaround time, and very knowledgeable. Will come back again for future needs.

I purchased an M1 carbine about a year ago that was mechanically in good shape, a decent little shooter. The finish showed years of wear and after being in a war or two it needed some help. I decided to have it reparkerized . The guys at Liberty Gunsmithing did an amazing job. It took a little bit longer than expected but the results were A+ We had an issue with some small parts but the owner did an outstanding job explaining the process to me. I highly recommend their services and will use them again in the near future. read more
