Would not respond to a problem with his initial service. I was forced to seek remedy from someone else.

All good things must come to an end…read more Watermark has raised their FFL fees to $40. Effectively, they're saying "please don't buy guns somewhere else and get them sent here - we don't want that business." Lesson learned - I should have checked before I sent my transfer if their price had increased. I get it. They want to sell their own inventory. That makes sense. But the business that will be lost in people who also needed accessories and ammo is likely significant as they decrease traffic into their store: Every time I went in for a transfer o tried to buy something - even if just a bottle of cleaner - to support them. There are too many other options at $25 or less. If you do want to put hands on a gun before you buy and want to buy local, their selection is huge. They just added a room of additional parts and accessories, which also houses their gunsmithing area. Their gunsmithing is still spectacular, especially older or less popular guns, and their cerakoting service is reasonable and really well done. Net net they're a plus to the gun community in a growing part of the Austin area. They're just not the great deal they were before for transfers and the stress of growth is showing, so I'll have fewer reasons to go back.

Spent many many hours assembling, fitting, filling, draw-filing, finishing, patina the metal. Turned out extremely beautiful. Decided to put a tang peep site on the gun, purchased a Johnson Peep Site which came with 2 screws that I asked Jim to drill and tap back by the tang and showed him exactly where. A couple weeks later, Jim calls me in preparation to work on my barrel and was very confused. First he thought he had to buy the peep site...no Jim, I dropped it off with the barrel. Few days later, I called and he was telling me that he had to order the screws, no Jim, I dropped those off with the barrel and peep site. Get a call to let me know the barrel was ready, go pick it up and Jim has installed the site about a 1/3rd the way up the barrel and the condition of the barrel showed it was not handled badly. Rust, scratches, little dents, etc. Told him this was totally unacceptable, so Jim's assistant, Tim brought it to a competent gunsmith in Leander to get the holes drilled in the right place which they did but now I have 2 holes in a very expensive barrel that I spent 2 months working on and no apologies but did get charged full price for his sloppy work. To be honest, this crushed my soul given the price I paid and the numerous hours/weeks I spent working on it. CRUSHED MY SOUL!!!!! Do not go there, go to Leander and save yourself the headache and grief.

During pistol practice, a round became misaligned while loading my magazine. I immediately stopped, raised my hand, and alerted the RSO because I take firearm safety seriously. Instead of calmly explaining the situation, the RSO escalated immediately, told me my gun was "broken," said it was extremely dangerous, and instructed me to leave the firing line and go to a gun smith, without attempting to resolve it or providing any reassurance. You would think that I just armed a bomb. At the front desk, it was later confirmed that the firearm was not damaged and that the round had already fallen free, which made the earlier response feel excessive and confusing. What made this worse was the owner's public response to my Google review, which was dismissive, condescending and tried to gaslight the situation, instead of acknowledging how intimidating the situation was, the response reframed my experience as something I should be "pleased" about and implied incompetence on my part. He also tried to say the RSO was watching over 9 lanes with 18 people but there were only 2 other people there shooting in the entire range. Overall it was a really terrible experience and upon checking others reviews It seems the owner has a pattern of responding defensively. I would not recommend this range unless you are okay being talked down to and treated as incompetent. It did not feel women friendly and I will be making sure I take all my friends to any other local range. No one should be punished for trying to learn and asking for help.

Phone calls during normal business hours go to voicemail, but are never returned. Emails regarding technical issues not responded to. Pay $4-5,000 for a pistol -- but you're on your own if there's a problem. Just try to get some help elsewhere. Then there are delays... "You need to contact our company before your order can be processed." There's no accountability when they take your money, but it takes weeks to actually reach someone in their customer service department to resolve the issue. Either they've cut back on staff to the point where this is a "bare-bones" shoestring operation, or they're not really concerned about the impact they have on their customers. This "don't care, don't have to" attitude has to change. It boils down to this: who is serving whom? After having an issue with an order (Dawson Precision charged my credit card, but I was unable to reach the company for technical assistant AND/OR customer service), my credit card company reported they were unable to reach the company and months later, the issue is still unresolved. The internet order is processed by a machine, which determines there's something wrong with the order: WHO KNOWS WHAT? Try reasoning with a machine. The machine doesn't care that your merchandise doesn't function properly, or that your order is delayed months. It doesn't care: it doesn't have to. Being polite, tactful, and diplomatic doesn't seem to work... not sure what does. This much I can report: there have been problems (and delays) in six of nine orders placed with Dawson Precision -- not one of them having anything to do with the item ordered being out of stock or back ordered. Six problems with nine orders: 66.6% of my orders placed online have had lengthy delays. That's a very bad track record. I hope your experience is better than mine.
