There were all sorts of scams and unnecessary repairs including: 1. Leading Edge replaced the front brakes at 119k miles and then again at 130k miles. Brakes again after 11k!! Front brakes should last at least 40k miles, usually more like 60-70k. 2. Leading Edge replaced the lower control arms at 116k and again at 146k. Control arm bushings last at least 100k miles. If you need control arms again at 30k, either the parts were junk or the alignment wasn't done right. 3. Leading Edge charged labor to replace both the serpentine belt and the alternator. You have to remove the belt to remove the alternator, so an honest shop wouldn't charge for the belt when doing the alternator. To charge full price for both is outrageous. 4. Leading Edge charged $250 to replace the radiator and $174 to replace the radiator hoses. You have to remove the hoses to replace the radiator. Here again, it's a rip off to charge labor for both. 5. Leading Edge charged $475 labor (just labor!!) to install tires, clean the beads, and replace one TPMS. $60-120 is typical at most shops for all this work, especially if you are buying tires from them. $475 for tire installation is probably the most outrageous repair scam I've ever seen.

I had a previous terrible review posted for Caton Auto. It was a fair, accurate review and I stand…read moreby it (I will post it at the end). However, eventually I complained enough that they "unretired" a general manager who seemed the only one to understand how to address warranty issues and they agreed to repair my vehicle. It took a year to get the warranty honored and to be heard. Let that sink in- a year. And they had to "unretire" a person to get customer service to happen. Crazy. So I scheduled almost a month in advance. It still took them three days with minimal communication and maybe I'm just bitter but I am very surprised the unretired general manager (Mr. Kenny, if you're wondering who it is) never contact me again to see why I was frustrated about the length of time it was taking. Or to see if the problem was finally resolved. Or to see if I'd change my reviews. So, I am happy to report they honored the warranty but I would never recommend these guys unless you're desperate. If you're a woman, I would recommend you drive away as fast as your car can go.

But they are affordable, atleast the most affordable of all the places I called in terms of estimates for labor. Another huge positive is that they let you buy and bring in your own parts. The car ended up being a total loss :( due to frame damage and other issues but I paid $68 for the diagnostic (they take card & Zelle apparently, with a card processing fee because it's $65 for the diagnostic). Behind them is a shop that does frame damage so that's another positive because they got an estimate from them for fixing my car. My only con is that I wish they told me the diagnostic price upfront, since they don't have a website. They communicate with calls and text and they kept me updated with everything. I ultimately sold the car and had a tow come get it from here so they're used to that happening too. Overall I would recommend and I would go back but I'm hoping I'll never need to again!!
