Glen Burnie (GB) Transmissions recommended Premier Auto & Truck to me when my car was significantly losing power while driving. I had been to 2 other shops before GB Transmissions who both convinced me the issue was the transmission, but GB Transmissions told me it wasn't a transmission issue. I asked for a recommendation and they told me they were confident that Premier Auto & Truck could take care of whatever was going on. I really thought my 2008 Subaru Legacy was just dying on me. It was an hour before closing on a Tuesday night when I drove into Premier Auto & Truck. Tim took me on last minute, listened to what was going on, helped me get a rental car, and then he and his team went to work on my vehicle the very next morning. It is now Thursday evening. My car has been returned to me and it is working just as it should be working. I rarely get to say this: They do everything the smart way. They used cameras in every internal part of my car to find out exactly where the issue was and to make sure they were only fixing what needed to be fixed. They did a great job at a fair price. I actually had several issues going on with my car, 2 of which no other shop or even the dealership could fix over the last 18 months. Tim and his team took care of both issues in about 2 days and at reasonable prices. Tim even followed up with me a few hours after I left the shop to make sure everything was still driving right. I live in Montgomery County (2 counties away) and I will happily be driving back to Tim and his shop when a car of mine needs any future services. I've always heard of auto mechanic shops like this existing. I'm really happy that I finally found one. I only wish I had known about Premier Auto & Truck sooner.

A mobile one man car repair shop run by a young man. very cool…read more i was stranded at the mall! i went up to hanover for lunch and a movie with a friend. my friend left, i stayed to shop. as i was leaving, my 2019 honda did the thing where every service light comes on the dashboard. this happened before so i knew i could not drive 90 min home. nobody was open by 8 pm sat. so i stayed overnight. Sunday i called around to the 3 places i found that were open on sunday. Jovon agreed to come to the mall to read the scanner and see what was wrong with my car. even though hanover is not his usual area AND he had a family member that just got admitted to the hospital (i overheard him on the phone), jovon met me at my car in the mall. he tripled checked his readings on two different scanners. unfortunately i had to go to a honda dealer to get my car fixed. Jovon only charged me for the diagnosis!!! which was like $50 but i gave $75 cuz he travelled. jovon was sad he could not fix my issue. but the diagnosis was very helpful. i knew exactly what to ask the dealer to look for which let them know i could not be fooled.

They were quick and didn't take long at all for the inspection. They gave us copies of the quoted repair work needed to pass since they failed us. They gave us two versions- cheaper parts ($1,800) and more expensive parts ($2,400). We needed work done on the steering column which honestly I never noticed had any problem but apparently there were tons of issues. We took the quotes to another mechanic we heard about and told them what needed to be done (without giving them thoroughbred's quoted prices) and the other mechanic quoted us at half the amount. So needless to say we took the repair work elsewhere. I took off a star because it seems Thoroughbred is pretty overpriced and price matters a lot to me when it comes to work on my car.

Would not recommend. Took our car in for Maryland Safety Inspection and it failed because the…read moreparking brake did not hold the car. Was informed it needed new rear brake rotors for it to work, so we authorized $576 in work - $209 in parts for two new rotors and $354 in labor to replace rotors and adjust the parking brake cables. They informed us after that this did not fix the issue and that they adjusted the cables as much as they could. They said it would be an additional $876 to replace both cables - $176 for parts and $700 for labor. I asked what cables they are using and they confirmed they were the Febi Bilstein cables which you can buy a set of for $27.38 online. 530% parts markup. I asked them about this and they said they could drop the parts price to $140, which is still a 400% parts markup! The situation felt fishy so we did not authorize the work and picked up the car. I Googled how to adjust the parking brake on the car, clicked the first link, and followed the instructions. Cost me $0 in parts and was extremely easy and now the parking brake held. Took the car back to the shop for re-inspection and it passed. Either they are incompetent and do not know how to adjust a parking brake cable, even though I was able to do it myself quickly by following the first result on Google, or they are trying to make a quick buck, which seems very possible considering the 530% parts markup on the cable. At the end of the day they made $576 off of us (plus $110 for the inspection) replacing rear rotors that likely didn't need to be replaced to fix the issue anyways. Very glad we didn't authorize $876 in a "fix" that was not needed. At least they were very friendly... can't say I will be bringing any of our cars back here.

I arrived at the shop 20-30 min after that phone call and found that the car would not start when I arrived. As mentioned previously the car was running and was driven to their shop and had to be towed out. The owner states they would like to handle this offline. As stated they will not return my calls and in the time it took to write that response he could have called me but did not. They did not charge me (I would hope not after damaging my car and performing unauthorized work) but it cost me $1200 to just to repair the damage they caused. The receipt is attached. I don't want anything from them at this point beyond admitting their mistakes and an apology for damaging my car and lying to me about it. But I know that's not going to happen so I just want to warn others to beware of this shop. Use their services at your own risk.
