As a woman who doesn't know much about cars and doesn't have many men in my family (my dad lives 2 states away), I wanted to find a shop that was reliable and honest. ADAS Elite was one of the first to respond and told me how they would run a diagnostic test and gave me a price. I liked that I didn't necessarily have to make an appointment for a specific day as long as I could drop my car off at 9am. Drop off was quick and they kept me updated with what was going on with my car. My AC issue was complicated so I didn't get to pick up my car until the next day. The good news is they found the issue but the bad news is that I need to replace my fan assembly, compressor and condenser, which is a huge expense that I can't afford. I opted not to go ahead with the repairs and was charged only for the diagnostic test. They also discovered (and showed me photos) that some parts under my hood were shifted out of place as if my car was in a front end collision but I purchased my car brand new and have never had an accident in my car. They fixed some of the issues at no charge. Although I didn't leave with my AC fixed, I am still very thankful for the team at ADAS. I highly recommend them!

Afterward, I checked their Yelp reviews and was shocked by how many negative ones they had. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second quote. I already had a good idea of what was wrong with my car based on past experience. When I called this shop, the difference was immediate. They were professional, respectful, and didn't argue with me or try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. I specifically looked for negative reviews--and there were none. I dropped my car off early that morning, and they gave me a clear time estimate for when it would be ready. They even sent photos of the issue. While I didn't fully understand what I was looking at, the fact that they were transparent enough to share images--knowing I could easily research them--told me everything I needed to know about their honesty. I don't remember the technician's name, but they took great care of my foreign car, Lexi, and I'm beyond relieved not to be driving around with grinding rotors anymore. Like everybody, I waited patiently in your thimble-sized office, navigated your comically undersized lot, and quietly appreciated the humor of your staff through the years. Thank you for that. So why today was I met by two new faces at the service desk with such a strikingly different attitude? I was surprised to hear oil changes require advance appointments, and you now prefer online. I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. Old guys from the desk, you are missed by your customers! Maybe it's the same great mechanics working behind closed bay doors at Hollenshade's, I don't know. Two guys I've never seen before told me things about how the business works that I've never heard before and treated me in a way no one at Hollenshades ever treated me before. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is not the same Hollenshade's I've trusted for over 20 years. I'm genuinely disappointed that I need to find a new mechanic. I honestly don't know what's happening at Hollenshade's anymore.
