This is exactly what you'd hope to find in an auto repair shop. I worked with Chris. He was amicable and knowledgeable on the phone and in person. He was able to remember me by my voice, and never failed to call me by name. Talk about customer service! I went in for drums and shoes. It only cost me $83 more than doing it myself. The price is unbeatable. What's more, they have some laminated sheets to help explain all of the repairs. Those tools were instrumental in helping me explain the repair to my wife. All in all, I will return (though hopefully not too soon) to this auto shop. The customer service is amazing, the brakes are doing great, and the price was beyond compare. read more

Initially did an oil change, which I had no issue with. 2k miles after, the oil light came on. I called Youngs and they said they'll look at it. Took it to the shop the same day of calling. They put it on the lift without mentioning fees. The young man, then said there is a diagnostic fee because it's "more involved" without any explanation, I declined. Then he asked to top off the oil for a $10 fee plus the cost of the oil, I declined. Then he said there's a $10 fee for his mechanic diagnosis. I then asked him what was the outcome of the diagnosis? He said he didn't complete the diagnosis. That doesn't make sense to me!! Fees should be mentioned before hand, so the client can make up their minds if they want to do business or not and not forced to do business because the car is already on the lift. It's not the matter of money, but integrity and principle. They lost a customer!! read more

I've had my car repaired here a few times and the mechanics are very thorough and honest. You don't always come across honest mechanics these days. Some like to charge you for items that don't necessarily need to be repaired. Not a Young's! Whatever the issue is, it will be addressed. They have a fast and flexible appointments also. I been taking my car to this place for years until Keith started running the place. Nothing but disappointing service since. My latest disappointment was taking my 2020 vehicle there to have a bumper repaired then ended up needing a new battery. He took not even partial responsibility for my perfectly fine battery not working when I picked my car up. Stay far away from this place. They are all about a profit with no good customer service. If I could give zero stars I would - I went here on referral of a friend. Already knowing what the problem was I asked for an estimate and was told oh just bring the car in- I did so after the sales pitch (which was out of this world) was told there was a diagnostic fee that would come off if I got the work done (bad - I should have left at that point) but I figured oh well ok better be safe and fix the right thing. After having my car for 3 hours I get the estimate of 550.00 after I said oh that's too much I was offered 450.00. Red flag - not even an offer to wave the diagnostic fee as I needed to think about it. In short never go to a place that will charge you to tell you what's wrong via a road test! Oh and let me say they asked for a deposit on my repair parts even after I said I needed to think about it read more

My mother turned me on to Mr. Young's several years ago. I have always received what I consider fair pricing and great service. I've been coming to Young's since they were located in The Village. I have had several cars serviced here (Lexus GS and ES, Jeep and Cadillac). One time Mr. Young gave me a ride home when I didn't have transportation while my car was being serviced. Most days you'll find Keith running the shop and repairing vehicles. Keith is very knowledgeable, always has the answer and knows where to order special parts as needed. Forget about the overpriced dealerships and just say no to the big name tire and oil change shops. This is a small business you'll want to return to time and time again. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. Let me first say that their employee Jun is friendly, straightforward and a very nice guy. He unfortunately got stuck as the middleman in all of this. My beyond awful experience is with Keith, the unprofessional, lying manager. Here is what happened to me: I had to leave my car there & they did a $45 diagnostic test to determine the issue (which was exactly what I told them it was, after doing a lot of research.) They called and quoted me a max of $500 for the job... the part was $293 from O'Donnell Honda, and the labor would be the remaining $207 or less. They said I could get an aftermarket part on my own, but they would not give a warranty for the repair. I told them I would look into the aftermarket parts and call back shortly. My dad knows cars, so I called him and he said the part was definitely marked up, especially coming from a dealership. I called back and said I would need to look into aftermarket parts, and come pick up my car later that day. When I went to pick up my car, I told them I was going to get the work done there, but was going to try to get a quality aftermarket part for less. No appointment for the work was made, but I was told that I needed to put down a deposit. (Note- This is my first time going to a mechanic in my life. My car is a 2010 and this is its first issue. I'm no dummy, but I just figured this was standard procedure.) I put down $100, including the $45 for the diagnostic. I had to put it on my debit card because they don't take Amex. Otherwise I'd be typing all of this into the Amex dispute form too. After the fact, my dad flipped on me for putting down a deposit, and said that definitely is not a standard practice, and he would help me with this from here on out. He found a quality aftermarket part for $120. Awesome! Then he did additional research on the labor itself, and found out that this specific repair should only take an hour, maybe an hour and 15 minutes for a novice... but that means an experienced mechanic should really be able to do it in an hour MAX. Young's has a sign at the desk that says they charge $90/hour for labor. Now maybe they were just over-quoting in case there was an issue, but to quote me over double the time? Hmm... questionable. So my dad decided he could do this himself and I offered to take him to dinner for it. I called Young's and said that I could get it done for $50 from a friend personally, not at another shop. Naturally Jun had to speak to his manager Keith, and came back and said Keith decided that they would keep the remaining $55 as a credit toward future work. This led to me and Jun going back and forth about my "deposit." (Why didn't Keith speak to me himself? Why make Jun do your dirty work? Red flag.) First, Jun admitted to me that their deposit process is not standard, and said "we asked for a deposit since it's your first time here... and we just wanted to make sure... you know... well...that you know how it works." THAT MAKES NO SENSE. You're basically admitting that you did something uncustomary and took advantage of my inexperience to trap me into getting the work done. Why? Oh maybe because if I took it elsewhere I would realize you're overcharging me? I told him I signed a receipt that says "deposit"... it does not say "non-refundable," or "good for future credit" or any rules or fine print. Just "deposit." Multiple times he said this is their policy and I told him you can't just bring up (or make up!) a policy AFTER the fact, that I was not made aware of and did not sign for. No one in their right mind would pay $200 for something that they could get done for 1/4 of the cost! I paid a deposit for labor that was not performed, and I want it back... it's pretty simple. I knew we weren't going to get anywhere, so I said I'd have to come by the shop. I called my dad and filled him in, and he decided to call and speak to Keith himself. Well... my dad remained calm and professional, but here are some quotes from Keith: "No... you listen to me.." (multiple times, cutting my dad off) "sue me... file a complaint... do whatever you want to do because I told you the options!!" and lastly... when my dad finally raised his voice and said "NO, YOU LISTEN..." HE HUNG UP. The MANAGER of this shop HUNG UP on a customer. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and State's Attorney General over this. He responded to them with lies, (I.e. "I remember clearly telling Danielle that the diagnostic was optional." First off- I NEVER even spoke to Keith myself, so how could he possibly remember telling me that? All of my communication was with Jun, and my dad spoke to Keith. Second- Why would I get an optional diagnostic test when I came to them with the issue? Jun said they HAD TO do the diagnostic to be sure I was right.) Anyway... the claim process is still ongoing, two months after the incident occurred. C'mon... really?! Just do the right thing & give me my money back! read more

This is a family owned business and they do not disappoint me at this Auto Repair shop. As you can see, you can find a cheaper way or for someone else to do it. But in my personal opinion, the mechanics do not lie here and just help you out with your vehicle to your potential. If a dealership for example tells you to get it done, Young's say you don't need to get it done, you can wait a little longer to get that done, and it won't harm your vehicle. Think about it, of course you want something cheap like I said earlier, but sometimes dropping money does pay off the damage that you need for your car. Not everything is cheap, money has it's way to fix things. Cars are like humans, as we get older and cars getting older, we start breaking down and need to take care of ourselves better and make sure our car is in a good condition for us to drive it around until it cannot run anymore. Young's Auto Repair is a great place to get your car done at, they won't rip you off, trust me on that. read more

I came in late today for an oil change. I was finished in approximately 35 minutes. I'm fairly new to Young's, but growing up in EV many of friends and family members have utilized their services for years. A few years ago I brought my other car in because I thought it had a leak. They looked over the entire car, but couldn't find a leak. Since this was a car that my dad willed to me, it has special meaning and I wanted to be sure, so I took it to the Chrysler dealership. Young's diagnosis was spot on-no leak and no unnecessary charges. These gentlemen are professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. read more

I've been aware of Young's since it was in the Village before they knocked down the Uplands. Most recently, I came into the shop because I knew I needed breaks. Stopped pass on A Friday around 8AM. The guy at the desk(I believe his name is Chris, I'm horrible at names but can remember a face) welcomed me in. We chatted about the brake pads. They would need something me time to look at the car to determine how bad it was. Before I left, I asked if they do tires. They do! I had to go to work, so I left and Chris was very nice with reaching out for updates throughout the day. I got a great price for 4 tires, oil change, filter changes and of course both front and rear brake pads. Customer service was amazing, and the fact that I just popped up with no appointment on a Friday was even better. They were able to order my Toyota parts and tires with no issues and do all the work the same day. I picked my car up around 4pm, just in time to get my weekend started. read more

I'm normally not a complainer about business. Sorry today, I have to write about my experience with this business. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday afternoon to get a diagnosis and was looking for a return call the next day. I can understand when I didn't receive the call, because it was hard to hear the problem. I waited two more days, and then I called to get some idea when I could give the okay if I wanted it repaired. Again, I didn't get the call so I called. He wasn't sure of the problem and said he would call. I didn't give the call so I went into the business to try to find what the problem was. When I asked about the problem, I was given an explanation, which is what I was waiting for all the time. Mr. Young has become Americanized, because he became upset about the question and explained that he didn't need my money. I have never had any business in all of my years, tell me they didn't need my money. Good luck with that attitude with future customers. read more
