    dry mix - no good
    Clarisse T.

hmmm more like 3.5 stars. spicy broth was good but the dry mix was not. i literally didn't taste much for the dry mix and flavor wasn't good. ingredient comparison with other MLT are on par EXCEPT the meat - they def seemed lower grade. service was attentive for the .5 star. will come back for try again tho, hopefully they changed the meat.

Really liked the broth here. This is the mild beef bone. It was very good without being too heavy and fatty. Good selection of veggies and noodles, great fish balls but only two meats (beef and lamb). Would have liked some pork. $14.99/lbs - same as most of the places.

2.4/5 Food. - low quality ingredients - lamb was exceptionally gamey - very fatty beef and no lean beef available - very fibrous old vegetables - soup was actually just bad - overcooked vegetables and noodles I was starving too and I couldnt finish my bowl. I grabbed my usual spread at a mala tang place so no variance there. Their system clearly needs improvements.

We went around 5 PM on a Sunday, right when they opened, and the place was almost empty. The shop is newly renovated -- clean and spacious overall. It's priced by weight, at $14.99 per pound . The ingredient section is an open refrigerated counter, and the selection is pretty complete -- common vegetables, tofu products, wide noodles, meatballs, and various meats. We chose two soup bases: the non-spicy pork bone broth and tomato soup . The pork bone broth had a subtle peanut butter aroma, light and flavorful, and totally drinkable without feeling greasy. The tomato soup was nicely balanced between sweet and sour -- our kid loved it and drank quite a bit. The sauce bar is self-serve and has plenty of options . I especially liked the green Sichuan pepper oil (藤椒油) -- it adds just the right aroma when paired with the lighter broth. If you enjoy a bit of numbing spice , try adding just a little -- it goes a long way. We weren't too hungry this time -- one adult had about a pound of food, which felt just right. Not too much, no waste. Overall, the soup bases here lean on the lighter side, which is great for when you want something warm and satisfying without feeling heavy. Next time, I'm planning to try their spicy broth options to see if they're just as good.

Walking in, we were greeted warmly and directed to pick our hotpot ingredients. I love that they have the bowl sanitizer in the front so you know their equipment is cleaned. You also get your own individual tongs to pick your items with. Selection is pretty good - veggies, noodles, tofu, meats, etc. FYI, though, the veggies are located next to the raw meat, so there is potential for cross contamination. The beef bone broth was very tasty - my friends got the spicy beef bone broth at medium level and the sour spicy beef broth. The bowls were big enough to have leftover for later.

New Malatang spot! The price here is standard at $15 per pound and I really like how many options they have at the sauce bar. The meat selection is more limited compared to other Malatang places as they just have beef and lamb. I also usually get a side of rice instead of noodles with my soup, but they don't offer rice here. I really liked the broths I tried, as they had some unique flavors that stood out from other Malatang places. They also gave us complimentary dessert which was very tasty!

My first time trying malatang! Upon entering, there is a sauce station to diy your own sauce in front and then sanitized bowls and tongs on the right inside the cabinet. There was a lot of options to choose from - meat, noodles, veggies, seafood, tofu, eggs, even you tiao (油條 - fried chinese breadstick). They measure by weight at $14.99/lb. I got the beef bone broth and my friend got spicy beef bone, it was yummy! Decor is also super cute inside.

The combination of meat, veggies and the exterior crispy pancake created such an outstanding tasting effect. The lamb dish had one of the most tender meats I've tasted. The brown sugar sticky rice cake was soft inside and hard outside; with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was ok. They should've been kinder and more grateful. I liked how they have a sign posted on window saying that gratuity is at free will and you don't pay for the wrong dish they send to you. It showed accountability. That's why we keep coming back, for now.

There was no line for us to be seated. I was able to flag down a server to seat us since they seem to be extremely busy cleaning tables and servicing others. The hotpots are full of ingredients and the broth has always been tasty. Unfortunately, the meats seem to be overcooked. Prices have been going up over the years where only the monthly special is enticing for the value. Servers were friendly and checked in on us, but it took 25 minutes for our food to show up at our table after we ordered. The only consistent experience I've had are the oranges at the end of the meal. They are always amazingly sweet, juicy, and comes off the peel easily. I don't usually enjoy oranges, but I love the ones HomeEat offers! Will be back if in the area, but hope kitchen service will be quicker in the future.

WHAT AYCE Indian food from northern and southern India: chicken, fish, lamb, vegan, appetizers, desserts (plural!). Delicious! We tried stuff that we might never order in a regular Indian restaurant. COST $25 weekdays $28 weekends is VERY REASONABLE to me for a place that has no limit on what you can consume. We went on a Friday night, no time limit for us, but if they are super crowded I can see how they might put a time limit. FOOD 10/10 I wish I took a picture of the buffet line but I didn't want to be weird. There were so many choices, and several dessert items too, including soft serve ice cream, this place is a gem. Everything was awesome! They now have a breakfast buffet too, next time I'm back in the area I'd love to try that!

Not many renovations as you enter half the old bar seating area is the area in which their buffet is displayed. Alot of display's of happy hour promotions, catering, pricing which none reflected on aspect of the business or the other (website). Friday afternoon is apparently considered a weekend buffet even though there are many business's around for a quick biz lunch. So we were charged the 'weekend buffet' pricing per person. Around $28. The buffet is on the massive side. Northern, Southern and probably a couple other regions of Indian food. It's rare I get a Indian buffet with so many options. Was happy sambar was available, medu vada, idli's. But also tried out some dishes never heard of. Upon seating we were brought both naan and dosa. Coconut and tamarind chutney was a nice surprise also. Chicken option and fish were done well. I can't remember exactly what recipe as tried a lil taste of many, but the point is they cook their meat and fish well with great flavor balance. There were a handful of goat options also. Never had a chickpea salad like they offered nor bitter gourd pickle! Loved that chickpea salad. As for the bitter gourd pickle, it was a good pickle recipe but if familiar with bitter gourd, it was 'unique'. Too full for dessert but it does exist. It's on the keeper list.

We came on Saturday evening and they had just run out of biryani which made me SO sad but it's a good reason to come back! It's spacious with plenty of seating so would be great for bigger parties too. My bf has a nut allergy so we could only order the andhra chicken curry and the goat curry (which are the same, btw just different meats.) The flavor was truly flavor-ing, and it had just the right amount of kick. I loved the spiciness!! Only note, there were quite a bit of bones in both entrees and I'm taking off a star for this. In the chicken especially, it seemed there were more bones than actual meat which was sad because the chicken was SUPER tasty. Tender and juicy and held the curry just perfect. The naan was also delicious as I prefer a thinner, flakier naan and they delivered! Also you MUST get the mango lassi here, they didn't skimp on the mango and it's the perfect reprieve from the spicy meal Will definitely be back to try their biryanis.
