Visited this spot with my boyfriend and I loved it. I'm always on the hunt for nice and study spots and this one was beyond my expectations. They just moved to a new location but no worries it just down the street from the old location. Great coffee, great service and great feel. Only down sign was the wifi just wasn't working that day. Wasn't sure if it was just down or if it was our laptops. Hopefully it won't be that way next time we visit! read more

Nice ambiance. The honey latte was delicious! A bit of a wait but worth it. Could be a bit friendlier though.

Great coffee (I'm a coffee snob) and friendly staff! They didn't know the what a mistro/ cafe au le was but they totally let me explain it and made it for me! It was a fun little teaching moment. The barista had a great recommendation on coffee. The building is a bit cold so if you get cold I would recommend a jacket! Not too busy or loud for doing homework. read more

When I visit this place for their house blend cappuccino and fruit strudels, I come prepared. I usually have my literature printed because I know it will take 30 minutes to connect to the WiFi. However, the last couple of times I couldn't connect at all. At that point, I had to go to a neighboring coffee shop to continue my work. It's not practical, so I don't frequent here often. I like this place, but would absolutely LOVE it if the WIFi was more reliable. read more

This is a great little coffee shop in Whittier! Everyone is friendly and the coffee is great!

Latte was average at best and I was refused the restroom 5 minutes before closing. I recommend going to La Monarca a few feet away.

Walk in because I have never seen this place before. I've been away from Whittier for 4 years so alot has change. But, I ask the gentleman what would he reccomend for me and he gave sample to try which was a huge help and the coffee was excellent. It 70 degrees in Whittier right now and the coffee was so good that I got hot coffee to go enjoy it in the sun read more

Nice location, coffee shop itself is nice and clean. Parking can be tricky depending on the time you come in. It's 9:30, apparently cook isn't here & they're not serving food. They have limited pastry selection and don't warm them up, like c'mon a microwave cost $40. To top it off cashier proceeded to make a rude comment to barrista about me asking for my pastry to be warmed up, "this isn't Starbucks". And that's why Starbucks has more business. read more

Waited half an hour for a latte on a Wednesday morning. Understaffing loses business. I won't be coming back here to be late for work again.

My bf and I went by and as soon as we walked in we were greeted. Good customer and friendly service. It was our first time there. We asked for a suggestion of latte's and they recommended a Honey Latte. My bf ordered Honey Latte and I ordered the Mocha Latte. Both latte's were delicious place is chill and clean. read more

I love this spot. I'm someone that likes to explore coffee shops. I had heard of this place and drove by it a few months and decided to give it a try. Fell in love with it. Now every Saturday morning I come up here to grab a coffee and walk up Greenleaf for a morning walk. Awesome selection of coffee. The staff is real cool. The coffee shop itself has a really cool, laid back vibe. Get the chocolate rain. Highly suggested. A Very good brew. read more

Watered down coffee with milk. Menu does not look appetizing even on pictures I can make a better avocado toast. Customer service is good to say the least. Ambiance is quiet and more for a study group. Will not recommend due to the hype of nothing just basic simple coffee with milk. read more

Nice little place in downtown Whittier. The decor is chic, the drinks are good. There are some unique items on the menu that you don't find at another coffee shops. Some of the staff are good and helpful. Others take a little too long. Almost everyone is friendly. I would probably go back again and give this coffee shop another shot. read more

I made an account to leave this review. Anyway, I went to this coffee shop with my boyfriend today and while we were sipping on our coffees, a homeless woman came into the coffee shop and asked for money for food, but I told her I had no cash and that I could buy her something from the coffee shop instead. As I'm walking with her to the cashier, a worker comes out of nowhere and immediately starts to kick the homeless woman out and denies me the opportunity to buy her food. He says, "she knows she's not supposed to be here.." So I don't know the full story, maybe this woman has came to the shop before and caused a scene? Who knows. But based on my experience today, this coffee shop showed a lack of humanity and a lack of compassion. I immediately walked out and will never return. I bought the lady some food at a restaurant nearby. Now, I can understand the business aspect of this situation as they are concerned with customers, but to be honest, I just believe the world needs more kindness and compassion. I would happily support a coffee shop that shows love and kindness to the homeless community. (No, I don't think it's their obligation but if they did it, then I'd definitely keep supporting a shop like that). I want to add that the lady was very calm and kind when she walked in, and when the guy kicked her out it felt very hateful and it was disappointing. Lift coffee shop - do better! read more

I love this place on my walks, their Hot Meatball Sandwich is so Delious, the bread is phenomenal

Coffee side is great but they also have food service which is terrible. Hours are unpredictable. I have gone 5 times and 3 of the times they were not open even though their hours says they are. It's always something with them, no electricity, they can't come in, etc. Don't bother unless you want to waste your time. There are plenty of burrito places in town. read more

If you enjoy coffee, you're going to love this place. Had probably the best cup of freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee that I've ever experienced here. It'd be rude to even try to compare Lift to Starbucks.... Next time I plan to try an espresso drink...maybe the Gibraltar.... Also loved the shiplap interior, plywood floors, and aircraft parts turned furniture...what a cool, hip vibe for Uptown! read more

I've visited this place a couple of times before to study. It's a great study spot. The seating is a little off; long table against the wall removes one whole side for sitting, the tin/aluminum bar is too high to comfortably write on. Also, the flavored coffees are way overpriced, which is one of the reasons I started going down the street (Hadley and Greenleaf) to the brunch stop for the same latte, but cheaper. Overall, it brings a great vibe to the uptown Whittier read more

What is there to say besides that this place really knows how to set the mood. They have amazing coffee and a dedicated staff that knows how to make it. The sandwiches during the deli ups hours as well are to die for!!! Personal preference so far is the meatball sandwich!! But the amazing Armando knows my order everytime I roll through, and best chai Iv had so far! read more

Best coffee in town. Friendly staff. Clean. Great place to read or just people watch.

A much needed coffee shop in Whittier. Elegant, dark/cozy and charming style with an art-coffee-house feel. I'm definitely coming back.

Coffee is good, better than typical chains coffee houses. The actual store is a bit sparse, could use a bit more art or stuff to look at because it's a bit plain / boring. Feels like a business that's not committed in staying open and doesn't want to make the investment in making their store welcoming. read more

I love this cafe, love the coffee the atmosphere , the location, yes coffee can be expensive if is a daily expense but its worth to try it

As someone raised in Whittier, I have been on the lookout for a great, cozy and friendly coffee shop. Lift Coffee Roasters accomplishes that with ease. On this particular occasion, I was happily greeted by the barista who asked how my day was and chatted with me for a bit. My coffee (a nice smooth pour over) was delicious. The customer service was great especially considering at that time there was only one barista making the drinks and I got it within minutes. If you ever visit and Rachel (the barista who I got today) is working you can be sure you'll get great service with a smile and knowledgeable recommendations if you're new to the coffee world. (Note- I've come in multiple times and it seems pretty consistent that all the baristas are super friendly.) Good job Lift and thanks for being a nice addition to the Whittier Community! read more

Such sweet workers. I accidentally dropped my coffee and they made me a new one and they were so sweet about it I felt so embarrassed but they were so kind about it. The coffee was also so smooth and creamy I loved it. Amazing spot with adorable plants and wood tables!! read more

I got a cold brew and the whole thing was filled with ice. I don't get it I thought the rule of cold drinks is supposed to be 1/3,1/4 of ice and no more. I paid $4 plus for a cup of ice. Feel like this place is a hit or miss with who is working and what service drink you are given. read more

I have been a handful of times, and I've never been satisfied. Mediocre coffee at best.

Some people behind the desk have a bad attitude. I asked for less ice and the guy literally just spilled out a quarter of my coffee then remade it and I felt like I was drinking rice water. Have better customer service. Hot coffee is good, iced coffee is not their best on the menu. They also have these cards to stamp when u buy a coffee and they never ask for it when ur at the register, I feel like the whole structure is pre-mature. read more

This coffee shop was one of my favorite spots to get homework done in college or catch up with an old friend. The atmosphere is relaxing and cozy, with several places to sit. Very fast, knows what they're talking about. I love uptown and this is my favorite coffee shop. A cozy homey feel, while you're still able to go about your day quickly. Went for the first time today after work thought I'd give it a shot... smh... should of kept on driving... I go in, I ask for cold brew and if they can add a little chocolate and the lady at the counter looked at me like if I was crazy "we're not supposed to add chocolate to our coffee, uhhh" and she sold me on cold brew w. Hazelnut "tastes the same" they poured it out of some plastic bucket on the counter half coffee and little syrup then added half ice. Wtf? $5 for half a cup of ice and stale coffee? No flavor whatsoever after I explained I was looking for something cold to take care of my sweet tooth... You should listen to your customers... I would of payed extra for the stupid chocolate syrup. Good luck staying a float... smh... oh and I tossed your coffee as soon as I walked out the door and walked to Monarchas Coffee down the street where they took care of me and gave me what I wanted... And cheaper, and 10x more flavor. Sorry guys yo can keep you hippie watered down iced coffee Don't recommend this place... Stay away unless your a hipster with no tastebuds read more
