Just giving an updated review…read more.. Recently went for my two year exam and this office is SIMPLY WONDERFUL! Doctor Cruz administered the exam and helped me find the best prescription for my contacts (which is a process cause I have astigmatism and different prescriptions in each eye. She helped me with an abundance of patience!! Jeanine helped me pick out a trendy new pair of spectacles and educated me about "Blue Blocking" being offered on the lens I use in my frames. So pleased to have this option for my glasses considering I use a computer screen for almost 10 hours a day. I left the office that day, more knowledgeable and with a better understanding how to care for my "tired eyes." Received a call from the office in 5 days that my glasses and contacts were ready for pickup!!!

I purchased a great pair of glasses in December, it took me hours to choose and I felt supported every step of the way! I just ordered contacts, and since I have to wait he gave me a few free pairs!!! While I was checking in I asked a question and the staff gave me such great information. They organically know their stuff and love their customers! I normally buy contacts on line, no more, this is my go to place! Thanks Dr. Gold and staff

Empire eye care is a good, efficient place to get eye exams, and glasses…read more A family member recommended Empire eye care, being that I needed to get new glasses. The location is easily accessible from all trains, and highways. The exam was good, the eye exam testing equipment was state of the art. Impressed by the newest technology for testing vision. Picked up a pair of glasses. Grateful to the guy that did my exam that helped me choose my new pair of frames. There is a 7 day wait to pick up new frames. However it seemed that my glasses came back fast. Overall my experience was okay, and hopefully yours will be as well.

Service in person was great at first, but the eye doctor's response was not great when I reported…read morethat the glasses I received were not addressing the issue I wanted to fix. He questioned my knowledge about how to use the glasses, but he complied to replace the lenses in the end. I later realized that the prescription was not customized to my eyes, and I could have bought a cheap pair of glasses with the same prescription online instead of spending $300... Less than 6 months later, the frame started cracking, and now it is broken and no longer holds a lens. I may have been just out of luck with this place, but I will not go back again.

What a great, refreshing customer experience especially for New York! I wasn't happy to find out…read morethat my former doctor since 2000, Dr. Thomas Chang, was nowhere to be found and trying somewhere new is always chancy. My first visit was to stop by the location to see it in person and to make an appointment. Just from this initial visit I knew i wanted an appointment. The gentleman (Mr. Paulino?) in reception was friendly, attentive, asked engaging questions and followed up with an appointment reminder call as he said he would. The appointment was equally smooth as I arrived early, was taken after a short wait and was done with exam, new frame selection and fitting in under 30 minutes!!! Again, Mr. Paulino answered my MANY questions with patience and care. The eye doctor was also friendly and informative and I felt comfortable and informed during the entire process. So no more trekking downtown because my NEW eye care spot is walking distance from my crib, too. UPDATE So today I received a phone call that my glasses were ready. Again, since the location is so close I decided to go pick them up ASAP. Upon entering the door of the location, imagine my surprise when Mr. Paulino greeted me with, "Hello Mr. Miles, welcome back!" Who remembers names these days, especially in service? The glasses were to my satisfaction and function. I really hope the location survives and thrives! ALL THUMBS UP

We were talked into transition lenses, special glare protection, and additional upgrades, bringing the cost to nearly $2,000. Now the transition coating is peeling off the lenses and he can barely see properly through them. When we contacted the office, instead of helping resolve the issue, the office manager repeatedly directed us to our insurance company and their third-party vendor. She was rude, disrespectful, talked over me, and would not allow me to properly explain the situation. I find it unacceptable that a business can happily sell a customer nearly $2,000 worth of eyewear but, when there is a problem, suddenly say it is "out of their hands." If you sell the product, you should be involved in making sure the customer is taken care of when something goes wrong. We paid for what we were told were upgraded, premium lenses. A year and a half later, the lenses are deteriorating and my husband can barely see through them, yet we're being passed around instead of helped. This experience has completely destroyed my confidence in this business. I would not recommend Pelham Parkway Vision Center to my family or friends based on how this situation has been handled. The best part I said I will leave a review and the office manager said" go ahead do what you gotta do " what customer service skills !!!

It required a dermatologist appointment, prescription ointment, and several weeks to heal. I determined the cause of the irritation by placing the frame on my forearm. After a few hours, there appeared a swollen, red, and itchy outline of the frame. When contacting Anne and Valentin about the incident, their response was to tell me their return policy and say they could not replace the lenses because they were from another vendor. So much for good customer relations. Maybe it's a French thing.
