I noticed that I was having trouble driving at night and was relying on my glasses a lot more. I've got a pre-op appointment scheduled and the surgery as well as the post surgery appointment. I had to go to the front desk and ask why the 15 sheets of info to fill out and why is the waiting room so full since she was told by her primary care this was an eye surgical center for cataracts. It wasn't!! It was an eye doctor appt! We drove 30 Miles and passed MANY other eye docs for this type of appt. I do fault her primary care physician too and written a review on her. This clinic though should have at least said something to her besides Hi. Fill out these forms and we will call you back shortly. The real issue was optical prescription. I took it to Costco to make lens. Upon receiving the new lens, my vision became a lot worse because my left eye could barely see anything. Opticians at Costco suggested me to go back to Key Whitman for an re-exam. The second time I had the same lady (not sure if she was a licensed optometrist). The exam equipment was ill prepared. The chart was not even in the center of my view. We struggled a lot with the machine to get through the exam. I took the new prescription to Costco. The optician saw the results and told me that it was impossible that two exams would yield such different results within 10 days timeframe. They strongly suggested me to get a second opinion from another optometrist. I later went to a new independent optometrist office, paid exam fee to get a new exam. This time, I noticed that in this other optometrist office, the service and equipment were day and night comparing to those at Key Whitman Allen office. Now I am wearing the new lens from the latest eye prescription and cannot be more happy with it.

I said I would write another review after my surgery and share my experience, so here I am! A few days prior to my surgery, they called to confirm my appointment, asked if I had any questions, and offered a prescription for valium. They did a great job making me feel confident about moving forward with the surgery. Upon arrival, they took my payment and put me in a patient room so that Dr. Ahmad could further discuss what I should expect after surgery, recovery time, and over the course of the next few months. FYI: I was having Xanthelasma growth removed from both eyelids. Dr. Ahmad does surgery on site. It wasn't much different than the patient room other than a table full of surgical tools and bright lights. I was given a squishy toy to hold and was told not to touch my face. For this procedure, I was given local shots for numbing (this is why they offer the valium to reduce your anxiety). Dr. Ahmad talks to you as well as his staff. The time goes by fairly quickly! I went home and I followed Dr. Ahmads post-surgical instructions. He gives you his personal cell phone so that you can reach him directly if you need him, I really appreciated that. I wasn't prescribed any pain meds -- I was worried about that, but honestly, I was not in pain. I took Tylenol PM to help me sleep the next couple of nights. Then there was that moment that I needed to contact Dr. Ahmed directly, so I did. My body was rejecting the stitches. This required me to go back in and get more stitches in both eyes. No matter how many times I text or called, Dr. Ahmad's office helped me every step of the way. Today, my next appointment is 8 weeks away for my final follow-up. I want to share my experience with you, and this is a huge vulnerability for me to post pictures like this of myself.

But as he is now so booked, I tried a different doctor for my severe dry eyes. After checking me she recommended what she called an IPL treatment and I said if she'd look at my records she'd see I'd already tried those and they didn't work, but that I'd tried an RF treatment a long time ago and got some relief. So we booked an RF Treatment. When I went for it, I was told it often takes 3 or 4 treatments and they can be 6 months apart. After 2 months I still had lots of burning and so I went back to the same doctor for a follow up. She looked at me and suggested a couple of products to use (she forgot to give me a printout so I don't know what they were) and said I could try another RF but I'd already had 2. I said no, I'd had 1. She argued with me until I proved to her she hadn't looked closely at my record and she was thinking I'd had one in Jan '26, but it was actually Jan '25. So she booked a second one. Then when I showed up and they had me back in the chair, I realized they were prepping me for an IPL, not an RF. I don't know whether the doctor was simply careless in the booking, or decided to book an IPL not having looked at my records. Either way, the carelessness is very disquieting. And their website will no longer recognize my email or password, and there is no way to correct it without just calling them. For a group with such advanced eye technology, the website is truly pathetic.

When I went back post op, was charged even though it was supposed to be part of the surgical fee. When I asked about it, I was told that I had a "bump" on the "other eye", so it wasn't considered post surgical. When I tried to dispute the charges I was asked to reschedule my appointment. The lady at the front desk was very rude. I'm in shock frankly as I work for Baylor and have never been treated poorly at a Baylor facility in the past.
