I've seen Dr. Claire Chu twice now, once a year ago and again yesterday. She is very professional,…read morecaring and easy to talk to. Last year I was referred to her since my regular eye doctor diagnosed cataracts. Dr. Chu checked my eyes and said I was borderline needing the surgery and suggested I wait. I was glad she was honest and not just trying to get a patient into surgery to make $$. This recent visit confirmed what I already suspected, it was time ito schedule cataract surgery. I noticed that I was having trouble driving at night and was relying on my glasses a lot more. I've got a pre-op appointment scheduled and the surgery as well as the post surgery appointment. The office staff was friendly and very helpful. The office observes Covid-19 safe protocols. Masks required, temperatures are taken, a place for clean/dirty pens. I feel I am in very good hands here!i

I had long forgotten that this is indeed a beautiful world with so many beautiful colors before the surgery, but now, it feels like a completely beautiful new world to me. Dr. Larry Taub was so skillful that I experienced almost no pain at all after the surgery. I was able to go back to my normal routine almost immediately starting next day. He was very patient and understanding. He eased all my nervousness and worry before the surgery and he made sure everything goes right after the surgery in my follow-up visits. The staff of Dr. Taub's office are very professional, effective and friendly also. I highly recommend Dr. Larry Taub for anyone who needs a cataract surgery.

I recently went to the North Texas Eye Center to see Dr. Lewis Frazee, a Board Certified General…read moreOphthalmologist. I somehow managed to get something stuck in my eye so bad that no matter how much rinsing in the kitchen sink, the thing just wouldn't come out. I've seen a lot of movies where they do horrible things which amplified my fear of actually seeing an eye doctor. Let me just say what was done was not exactly "fun", but necessary. I would highly recommend Lewis Frazee, as would Dallas Magazines "Best Plano Doctors" for three years running. Personality goes a long way. I would 100% prefer to have a Doctor that knows what they are doing to a doctor that is ultra friendly. Lewis definitely knows what he is doing; my only complaint was the staff was not very personable. No smiles, no fun, no "how was your day", or "how are you doing". Just very, very dry, and serious. I'm not sure if the staff like to work here, or if they're not allowed to smile or talk with patients. It would make the experience a five star for sure. Thank you Dr. Frazee for fixing my eye. I felt like the lion with the thorn stuck in my foot. You are the reason I can sleep at night again, and for that, I am eternally grateful!

The support staff were pleasant, thorough, and efficient. However, they did something which I found questionable. Having noticed a mild cataract in one of my eyes, the technician asked me if I wanted to take the extra time to complete the preoperative cataract-removal paperwork, in case my doctor found that the cataract might merit surgery. In other words, even though I might not need it and my doctor hadn't even examined me to assess the cataract severity yet, I was asked if I wanted to be administratively prepped for surgery. As it turned out, my cataract did not merit consideration of surgery. My brief visit with the ophthalmologist was thorough and my exam, doctor assessment and future follow-up was all covered. What I found disappointing that the ophthalmologist seemed to lack friendliness or empathy.

I was there because I had an eye infection. When she walked in the room she was actually smiling. I commented that she looked like she was in a good mood. Her reply was' I'M HERE FOR YOUR EYES. Like I don't want to know you and I don't want you to know me. Rude! She made a condescending remark later and I had to tell her I'm not stupid. Maybe she should have been an anesthesiologist so she could have minimal patient contact.

I said I would write another review after my surgery and share my experience, so here I am! A few days prior to my surgery, they called to confirm my appointment, asked if I had any questions, and offered a prescription for valium. They did a great job making me feel confident about moving forward with the surgery. Upon arrival, they took my payment and put me in a patient room so that Dr. Ahmad could further discuss what I should expect after surgery, recovery time, and over the course of the next few months. FYI: I was having Xanthelasma growth removed from both eyelids. Dr. Ahmad does surgery on site. It wasn't much different than the patient room other than a table full of surgical tools and bright lights. I was given a squishy toy to hold and was told not to touch my face. For this procedure, I was given local shots for numbing (this is why they offer the valium to reduce your anxiety). Dr. Ahmad talks to you as well as his staff. The time goes by fairly quickly! I went home and I followed Dr. Ahmads post-surgical instructions. He gives you his personal cell phone so that you can reach him directly if you need him, I really appreciated that. I wasn't prescribed any pain meds -- I was worried about that, but honestly, I was not in pain. I took Tylenol PM to help me sleep the next couple of nights. Then there was that moment that I needed to contact Dr. Ahmed directly, so I did. My body was rejecting the stitches. This required me to go back in and get more stitches in both eyes. No matter how many times I text or called, Dr. Ahmad's office helped me every step of the way. Today, my next appointment is 8 weeks away for my final follow-up. I want to share my experience with you, and this is a huge vulnerability for me to post pictures like this of myself.

That could not be further from our experience. Dr. Alloju has cared for many veterans, including my own father, who recently had cataract surgery with him and is now seeing phenomenally. Our experience from start to finish was excellent. Dr. Alloju provided exceptional care, and the staff was equally wonderful. Cassie Camacho, in particular, went above and beyond to help facilitate everything and make the process seamless. Everyone is entitled to share their experience, but I do think credibility matters when making serious claims about a physician and their staff. When a review repeatedly gets the names of the very people being criticized incorrect, I think it's fair for readers to take the rest of the account with a grain of salt. Our experience with Dr. Shashi Alloju and Cassie Camacho was nothing but positive, professional, and respectful.
