The support staff were pleasant, thorough, and efficient. However, they did something which I found questionable. Having noticed a mild cataract in one of my eyes, the technician asked me if I wanted to take the extra time to complete the preoperative cataract-removal paperwork, in case my doctor found that the cataract might merit surgery. In other words, even though I might not need it and my doctor hadn't even examined me to assess the cataract severity yet, I was asked if I wanted to be administratively prepped for surgery. As it turned out, my cataract did not merit consideration of surgery. My brief visit with the ophthalmologist was thorough and my exam, doctor assessment and future follow-up was all covered. What I found disappointing that the ophthalmologist seemed to lack friendliness or empathy.

I noticed that I was having trouble driving at night and was relying on my glasses a lot more. I've got a pre-op appointment scheduled and the surgery as well as the post surgery appointment. I've seen a lot of movies where they do horrible things which amplified my fear of actually seeing an eye doctor. Let me just say what was done was not exactly "fun", but necessary. I would highly recommend Lewis Frazee, as would Dallas Magazines "Best Plano Doctors" for three years running. Personality goes a long way. I would 100% prefer to have a Doctor that knows what they are doing to a doctor that is ultra friendly. Lewis definitely knows what he is doing; my only complaint was the staff was not very personable. No smiles, no fun, no "how was your day", or "how are you doing". Just very, very dry, and serious. I'm not sure if the staff like to work here, or if they're not allowed to smile or talk with patients. It would make the experience a five star for sure. Thank you Dr. Frazee for fixing my eye. Both hubby and I have had cataract surgery performed by her (at her previous practice) and just love how she connects with her patients. She is an expert surgeon and takes the time to really explain all options and answer all questions. She is so approachable and we look always look forward to our appointments with her. The staff is equally as friendly and welcoming. Her new practice is inside the medical building next to the old Richardson hospital located on Campbell Rd near Collins Rd. Address is 399 W. Campbell Rd. She's located on the 4th floor. The office is beautifully decorated with a white textured wall at the reception area and with a predominantly blue color palette. Very soothing, with pops of orange color in the artwork and accents. We both are thrilled with results of our Pan Optic cataract lenses. We also both required a follow up procedure due to the uniqueness of our eyes. I needed a Yag procedure a few years ago and hubby needed his lenses polished post cataract. She even explained that the surface of his eye was similar to a raisin and needed to be polished to smooth it out. Now that's down to earth language that we can understand! I've been to this location 3 times, one per each of the last 3 years. First year I was there, my…read moreeye glasses had to be corrected 2 times because they were not good to me. I was told that it was maybe because I was used to "cheap" eyeglasses (I used to have them done in Walmart, or Sam's or Costco). Second year I went there, I was sure my measure had changed because I was kind of uncomfortable with the old eyeglasses. The doctor told me that the measure had not changed but pointed out that my 62 year old eyes were not the same as younger eyes. Really? Do we need a reminder we are getting old? I decided not to be so sensitive and gave them another opportunity this year, because I believe in second chances. BIG MISTAKE! After waiting for a week or more, I was told my eyeglasses had been sent to another location in a different state. Then, when I finally got them, once again, I could not read with them. They took it back to make an adjustment. Mind you, this time I was wearing THEIR glasses, not the "cheap" ones, as before, so it was not a matter of adjusting to a better quality. A week or more after I received the new eyeglasses. The left lens was incorrectly cut and kept falling off the frame. Took the eyeglasses back for yet another fixing. 3 weeks in a row I was told that the eyeglasses were going to be ready "next week", and Brian kept apologizing profusely for all the issues. After the 3rd time the eyeglasses were not ready when I was told they were going to be ready, Brian told me they were giving me the money back (I did not ask for it, he offered it), which they did. Today I went there decided to just get my prescription and have the eyeglasses done somewhere else. Something I didn't do before, because I did not want to wait again for the glasses to be ready somewhere else. This time the glasses were finally there. Out came Brian with the eyeglasses, and put them on the table while telling me that they did not have any warranty anymore because they had refunded me with the cost. Again, I did not ask for it! So, at this point, I hope this time the glasses are fine, because I will have to start all over again somewhere else if they are not, due to the refund and lack of warranty. Needless to say, I WILL NOT GO BACK THERE. I have never given a review before, but this time I really felt the need to do it, not as a revenge, but an opportunity for them to improve their service, and an advise to any other want-to-be customer, so that they don't have to go through what I did.
