The friend I took here was never told anything when we arrived! She was expecting surgery and the staff never confirmed what her appt was for. Dealing with an 82 yr old, they usually need to be told more than once. I had to go to the front desk and ask why the 15 sheets of info to fill out and why is the waiting room so full since she was told by her primary care this was an eye surgical center for cataracts. It wasn't!! It was an eye doctor appt! We drove 30 Miles and passed MANY other eye docs for this type of appt. I do fault her primary care physician too and written a review on her. This clinic though should have at least said something to her besides Hi. Fill out these forms and we will call you back shortly. I just started going here and I was impressed with all the new equipment that they had. I also bought a couple nice pair of glasses from their glasses shop that's down the hallway. They are efficient and they use a process that checks your eyes very well. They are much better than the other places I've been to even the boutique places that were very expensive in Bergen when we lived in New Jersey. North Texas Eye Center exceeded my expectations and I would recommend them to everybody. read more

I'll start by saying that I really liked the doctor, Dr. Pham. BUT...it started off by not getting called back until 25 minutes after my appointment time. Office was FULL! Shuffled back and forth to several different rooms within. The part that I really hated was getting the eye dilation drops and eye pressure test in a room with 10 other patients staring at me. It was so uncomfortable. Dr. Pham was very try pleasant, as well as the check-in/out staff, but the others on the tech team seemed rush and focused elsewhere. I've been going to North Texas Eye Center for years. The doctors are very professional and knowledgeable. The staff is okay. The wait is RIDICULOUS. I have NEVER completed an appt for less than an hour and a half. I understand appts run late but waiting for 1 to over 2 hours is not GOOD. I'm sure most if not all the patients would agree. They charged my wife for part of the exam she had told them up front she didn't want. They didn't do that part of the exam but charged her anyway without telling her. She found out before she left but they wouldn't refund the money. She even spoke to the eye doctor and they all acted like they didn't know how to credit it back so they refused. Very deceptive practice and they basically told her they wouldn't do it. This practice has gone downhill as it's all about the money. read more

TERRIBLE WASTE OF TIME... Made an appointment two months ago and discussed insurance at that time. Reminder call the day before and I asked if they had everything for insurance. Filled out all the paperwork, waited, started the exam and they said it would be $55 if I wanted a prescription, why would I be there if I didn't want a prescription? She said it wasn't covered by insurance -- I informed her I had never had to pay additional for a prescription before. Come to find out they don't accept VISION Insurance and they charged me Co-Pay on my MEDICAL insurance which DOESN'T cover vision!@#$%^&? read more

My son has been going to Dr. Frazee for his Uvetis for decades. He had a flair up and made an appt. He found out they do not take Obama Care insurance. These are the exact words they used. Awful. The charge for out of pocket office visit is $200. Then my son arrived they told him he had an outstanding balance of $244. They never mentioned this when the appt was made and told him he would be charged $200. He could not pay the balance and the office visit, it was too much. He asked they send a bill for the oustanding and they would not. He only has one good eye and it needed the doctor to look at it and prescribe the drops. THIS CONDITION IS EYE THREATENING AND HE COULD LOOSE HIS ONLY GOOD EYE YET THEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE $200 FOR THE VISIT W/O THE OUTSTANDING BEING PAID. THEY ARE DISGUSTING AND HORRIBLE UNCARING POS DOCTORS. Find another doctor. I will be filing a complaint with the medical board and all other entities that oversee this practice. Visited office for eye allergy late 2019. Dr removed a eye lash and charged me $150. Eye lash is not an issue(never been in decades and didnt even know about it) and not related to my actual problem. I tried talking to technicians and billing several times but advised to wait for a call back which never happens. I think this is fraud as I am reading in other reviews here as well. I hate to write a review on health care profession but this place doesnt seem to be right. I will be making a payment anyway but will report to state. read more

There are several doctors that operate out of this office, but I come here to see Dr. James Passmore. This was my second time to see him as this was a yearly follow up. I was very pleased with his level of care. I have type 2 diabetes and so my vision isn't all that great. he was straightforward with me and suggested that I go see a retina specialist last year which I did and that doctor was extremely helpful. I appreciate Dr. Passmore's honesty & his willingness to answer my abundance of questions. The entire medical staff was very professional and easy going and it actually made the entire experience very enjoyable. I definitely will keep him as my doctor and suggest that if you're looking for an eye doctor you should check him out! read more

I would avoid this office at all costs. Their only concern is to bill you at the highest amount they can. They ignore your insurance, and you end up paying a hefty bill. I have vision and medical insurance, but they conveniently made the decision to submit the claim through my medical insurance, and they are not in network. I initially scheduled an appointment with them because they were in network with my vision plan. They ignored my questions and submitted a medical claim. The staff is not professional and not unable to answer any questions. This is the worst vision exam that I have ever had. read more

I recently went to the North Texas Eye Center to see Dr. Lewis Frazee, a Board Certified General Ophthalmologist. I somehow managed to get something stuck in my eye so bad that no matter how much rinsing in the kitchen sink, the thing just wouldn't come out. I've seen a lot of movies where they do horrible things which amplified my fear of actually seeing an eye doctor. Let me just say what was done was not exactly "fun", but necessary. I would highly recommend Lewis Frazee, as would Dallas Magazines "Best Plano Doctors" for three years running. Personality goes a long way. I would 100% prefer to have a Doctor that knows what they are doing to a doctor that is ultra friendly. Lewis definitely knows what he is doing; my only complaint was the staff was not very personable. No smiles, no fun, no "how was your day", or "how are you doing". Just very, very dry, and serious. I'm not sure if the staff like to work here, or if they're not allowed to smile or talk with patients. It would make the experience a five star for sure. Thank you Dr. Frazee for fixing my eye. I felt like the lion with the thorn stuck in my foot. You are the reason I can sleep at night again, and for that, I am eternally grateful! read more

I visited this office for a follow-up visit for a problem I was having. Upon my arrival and check-in, I was told that I needed to pay a $115 fee in addition to the balance remaining on my account. Paying the balance - no problem. It's the $115 fee that got me! I paid the fee, but when the receipt was handed to me it only reflected the $89 remaining balance, and then a total of $204 charged to my card. Wait, what!!! How can you hand someone a receipt and it doesn't show the breakdown of ALL charges? There definitely needs to be some retraining in this office when it comes to billing, please list ALL CHARGES on your receipts. read more

I went to Dr. Lewis Frazee and strongly recommend you chose any other physician. He was unprofessional and provided poor care. I have had multiple surgeries on my left eye for retinal detachment and a macular hole plus lens replacement for cataract. I have a small cataract on my right eye which I was expressly told to follow by my prior physician. At my first visit, he never introduced himself. I wondered when an elderly man wandered into my exam room in scrubs so had to ask if he was the doctor. His response, "I am". Then "look here" "put chin here" statements and off for some testing per nurse instruction. After returning from my testing, Dr. Frazee asked his nurse why the tests were ordered. She told him that if he reviewed my history, he would probably understand (that is almost verbatim). So it appears that he did not order tests himself, nor review my history prior to examining me initially. He also did not report the cataract on my right eye, but had to go back to look again after I asked him about it. He told me to "go find bigger things to worry about". He is quite elderly and in my opinion should retire. My one star rating is generous and I actually considered reporting him to the board. I have zero confidence in his skill and now have to go to another physician for same exam due to that lack of confidence in his care. read more

Stay away from this office. They make up diagnosis, they send improper bills, they're a fraud!!!!!! They even ignore your vision plan, and keep sending nasty bills for procedures like glass exam. It's impossible to understand their billing process, because they aren't solid and honest. That makes a good eye doctor look like a bad person. read more

Don't ever go to this Doctor. They are fraud. They send us a wrong bill and when we called to the office manager she denied to correct it. Before visiting them we made sure that they would cover our vision insurance. When my husband went there he made sure that he wants to do the routine annual exam but they charged us for medical diagnostic while he didn't ask for and they didn't inform us about it. The staff especially office manager were very rude and not helpful and they didn't listen to what we asked. Never go to this doctor. I would have given them zero review if I could. read more

Their service is astoundingly awful. It starts with their inability to provide customer service at the front desk. Their phone lines are off during business hours and in fact state that you have reached them during after hours. I called morning, and afternoon was unable to reach a single person. They have hidden fees for typical items that are usually included in eye exams for contact lenses. I was charged the fee for my 2 hr exam plus given the wrong prescription. When I told the provider the prescription on one eye was far too strong and that I could not see anything with it. I was told I was wrong and that it was the right prescription. I was then charged for the contact lenses and the prescription. While checking out barely being able to see out of one eye I inquired the front desk that my prescription was included in the paperwork, she confirmed. It was only when I handed it over to be filled that I was told the prescription was not there and that it was a receipt. I called to ask about it but no answer. I drove back and was charged yet again because of some hidden fee. Do not waste your money or your time. The staff is unprofessional. The providers do not listen to their patients. Been going here for years. No problems with Dr. Frazee, a nice calming doc. Nancy in contact lenses was awesome. Since Nancy left, contact service has been horrible. Started to complain to her replacement (who has difficulty speaking English and has a very heavy Asian accent -- and I don't mind that and absolutely make every effort to understand her because I prefer to always be a gentleman, but when I became frustrated with her not sending out a refill on my contact lenses without another visit when I had been there three times in one year, she hung up on me! I called back, got voice mail I don't know how many times, finally someone calls me back, tells me I have to come in AGAIN before they can fill the order, when I had an eye exam, vision test, glaucoma test all within a year! I explained, your records are not correct, their "new" computer system is all screwed up because the staff doesn't know how to use it correctly. I explained again that I work out of town and am only home every other weekend and to please fill the contact order and I will make another appointment when I book my next flight. They refused. I then informed her that the last time I placed the order that they said I have to come in for a vision test, which I did and when I got there they told me that I did not have to come in (after they performed the test and charged me of course). I told her, if that's how your going to treat a patient that you've had for years. You just lost me as a patient. Having office problems is one thing, but there is no excuse for staff to be rude to a patient. Both the Lewisville and Plano offices have a weirdly depressing atmosphere anyway. My advice: Find a happier more upbeat place to have your eye care performed (remember, it's your money, spend it in a happier place with a competent staff). read more

I used to visit North Texas Eye Center (Dr. Frazee) for regular eye check-ups. I stopped going to this place and found a better doctor. I have two major problems: one on fees, the other on time for check-ups. 1. They always did something more than what my insurance authorized (usually without letting me know in advance) and charged additional fees. 2. Often, their patient queues were completely screwed up. When traveling a room to another for tests, some assistants put patient folders on top of the stack while others do at the bottom. Very often, my turn was delayed for tens of minutes. As the result, my eye check-up sessions took between over 1 & 1/2 hours and 3 hours. (Yes, over 3 hours!!! Of course, I had appointments) I complained but, guess what, I was treated terribly not only by the staff but also by Dr. Frazee. There is a minor problem. They (including the doctor and staff) were very ... uh ... unpleasant, or, rather arrogant. Well, some other doctors are, too. So, it is a minor problem, I guess. read more

Made an appointment using EyeMeds, which I've used in the past with this office. When I arrived I was told that they could no longer file under EyeMeds due to my beginning stages of cataracts (could have told me that when I made the appointment). Said they would file under my medical insurance and that the refraction charge would be $55. Which I agreed to pay. Once I was in the chair and was dilated, they informed me that there is an additional $120 for an office visit. I should have left immediately, but did not since the procedure had already started. What's the purpose of asking for my insurance coverage when making the appointment? If told then that EyeMed would not cover a visit to an ophthalmologist, I would have had ample time to make a decision, and chosen to see an optometrist. The visit negated having and paying monthly for EyeMed vision insurance. I won't be going back to this office. read more

If you would like contacts lenses be prepared to come back a second time because the won't prescribe them same day. Ive worn contacts for 33 years, this isnt industry standard. This physician will go elsewhere and send his patients elsewhere too read more

We LOVE this place. We have a family of 4 and all of us go here. Sure it takes longer then some of our past eye doctors but it is for good reason. They give plenty of time to their patients to make sure they each get exactly what they need to see properly. When we switched over 2 years ago to them it was the first time all of us were fitted for proper contacts. My son has poor vision and his old eye doctors offered no hope on seeing 20/20 or even close. We switched here and it is the first time my son's eyes with contacts he sees close to 20/20! We will not go anywhere else! Everyone is friendly and supper helpful. They care about their patients! read more

Have been seeing Dr Lewis Frazee for around a year now and am so impressed with his knowledge. I moved to this area about two years ago and starting seeing another opthamologist in Flower Mound. After constant calls to reschedule my appointments, and my communicating to the doctor that I felt that they really didn't care about me, I decided I had had enough. Dr. Frazee is an extremely busy doctor, but takes the time to make sure I understand what is happening with my eye health, reassures me, and doesn't take hours of my time to do so. I have NEVER been called to change my appointment. He is proactive and positive. I have complete confidence in his care. Awesome Doctor! He is located in two locations, Plano and Lewisville. read more
