First and foremost, I don't know a gigabyte from a mosquito bite! I'm truly at the mercy of anyone that has the slightest inkling that does. Called Tech Surgeon, I was told the surgeon employee was hospitalized. Found that a bit ironic although, I truly wished his lightning speed recovery . So back to random search here on Yelp and chose Lewis Computers. Not only from a location standpoint, but it's reviews. To me I judge the total quantity of good reviews vs the bad. Very few bad reviews, so no impact on my final decision. My issue was not complicated, old laptop 11 yrs old and no longer would update windows and would not backup to external hard drive. In a matter of one day, he accomplished backup. Highlights of my experience: Excellent customer service Remove hard drive and returned. Organized the external hard drive by doc's pictures etc. Timely service, one day. Happy with his fee of 40.00 Offer to recycle old laptop, that's a plus for me! (being a recyclable conscious that I am.) In addition his advice to rectify minor problems with my I Phone. Lewis Computers experience was awesome. PS He sells refurbished w/warranty laptops. Currently looking at a new IPAD Pro, or Apple laptop. Yikes! $$ Strongly considering a purchase from Lewis. No comparison, but it will suit MY needs. read more

this place is the worst i came in with my 15yr olds gamer laptop to get it looked at because it power on. when i dropped it off, i was to that it would be a couple days before he called me back to tell me what was wrong with it. i forgot that i even took it untill my son asked me about it like three weeks later, then i relized no one ever called me... so when i called, i got no ansewer for the next two days same thing. so i drove back to palmdale and asked if he remeered me and about my sons laptop. he had some excuses on why i hadent heard from him and thin said the power port where my charger goes in the laptop was messed up.. told me how much it was and that is was going to me about two weeks before it was finished because he had to order the part .. i paid for it got a reciept and left .. so two weeks later i called and got no ansewer but a text from a different number and it was them .. i asked him if my sons laptop was finished, he said no it would take through the weekend and that he would call me when it was finished. i waited all weekend with my son breating down my neck ... wouldnt you know no call from lewis so i waited tell monday and called no answer this continued for like three weeks then i get a text stateing that he was in the hospital from covid and that he was returning to work that fryday and that he didnt get to fix it yet , but it would be the first thing he did when he got in.. so fryday comes same ole bull so when i finally go to pick up my sons laptop the next week, he tells me that he replaced the part but it wouldnt come on still and that he didnt know what was wrong with it. at this point im pissed .. i said to him i payed you for what reason .. he replied im sorry ill give you your money back i said thanks and thought that would be the end of that .. so, three weeks later i take it to another repair shop. i told them the situation and he opens it up in front of me to see if it was an easy fix .. do you know that lewis computer repair shop had stolen the brain and everything else valueuble and useable out of my son's laptop before he gave it back to me ... why would they do that to a 15 yr kid is beyond me. freaking crimainals .. my son is so upset smh horrible thing to do to a kid with autisum you bastards. when i called him to let him know i know but of course he lied and denied doing it. but im not dumb before the small complication my son had it worked perfectly fine now everything been stripped from it.. read more

LOVE THEM! Seriously took my laptop in for a fan replacement super nice people was told it was going to be done Friday. On Wednesday the owner called me to tell me the part wasn't there yet and it might be a little late. But they work miracles and had it done still on Friday. Will definitely go back for them to fix my laptop if something happens again. BTW my laptop is running perfectly fine 2 days later. read more

Well, let me start with me not being a computer tech person at all and having issues with my laptop for a year. As a graphic designer my laptop is my income and needed it fixed pronto. When I couldn't find the building Omar walked outside to help flag me down, had a fantastic talk about what was wrong as he fiddled with it and told me he would run a diagnosis scan thing. He texted me asking if I wanted data saved, and randomly throughout the scan to keep me updated on what was happening. After the scan he was going to go through other parts of the computer to be sure everything was running well. He also cleaned it because he noticed it was over heating. And I was told I would have it back days before I expected to! Omar went above and beyond what I expected and if I am ever in the area and need some work done I won't hesitate on calling Lewis computers. read more

Took a month an a half to fix a broken screen. Had to keep calling them. Went down there like 3 times an screen was still not fixed. Still blurry. Finally they fixed it but now my computer doesnt stay on unless then charger is plugged in. Guy had an attitude when trying to check the computer. Had very bad vibes comin from him also. My last time there at Lewis computers. Last time i got my screen fixed it took 2 days. Didnt't feel like arguing. Just left. I will just take a loss an just do business in Los Angeles for now on. I am saddened to have to write this review about this company in prior years they were good. But like with time when you change employees and management so will the quality of service. Took the same laptop to the 5 years ago (the better tech at that time) suggested not paying the high cost for the keyboard. Called in advance tried to remind the person of my prior history and suggested results. The tech checked for the cost of a new keyboard now it was $80. Took the laptop in and after waiting 3 weeks the tech could not replace the new keyboard and it works. He then suggested not diagnosed the "motherboard" may be damaged. I asked to pay the balance owed on the keyboard and take my laptop and leave, the women in front refused, she then told me what I paid in a deposit was for a diagnostic. Giving me back broken keyboard and keeping the keyboard. I never asked or diagnostic, I asked him to order the keyboard and put it in. Instead, she keeps money and keyboard. Lastly, the reason I drove two and a half hours round trip from Los Angeles was that when I began doing business with them it was that they were a Christian based business. Years later I now regret doing business with Lewis Computer. The Tech there is not as good as the prior guys who worked there and he needs help or support system as his knowledge is really limited. read more

Even if you have to travel a long distance, you'll see later that it was absolutely worth it. Not only are the Lewis' Technicians totally knowledgeable about everything computer-related, but they are also patient, extremely generous with their time, and they back their workmanship with integrity. And on top of all this, reasonable charges, too. What more can you ask for! I've had 3 Computers worked on successfully there...and at affordable prices. STOP. I have been going to them for about 10 yrs. even giving them my old systems for parts. In September of 2018 I took them my daughters IPad pro. they were suppose to remove my daughters info for me (just clean it up so I was the only user). They kept it for about 4 full months never returning calls and rarely answering the phone. I was still making payments on the IPAD PRO through verizon when THE TECHNICIAN AT LEWIS COMPUTERS locked the tablet. IT WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED. AND THEY HAD NO WAY TO GET BACK INTO IT. It was useless now It wouldn't even turn on. The young man who disabled it refused to take responsibility as well as the owner (his uncle), apparently the kid was denying responsibility and the uncle accused me of trying to take advantage of them...I had to fight and take words of abuse accusations of being dishonest and trying to pull one over on them FINALLY the owner agreed to send me home with a working desktop from the sales floor. THE DESKTOP MAC HAS AN ADMINISTRATORS SIGN ON AND THE YOUNG MAN HAS REFUSED TO LOOK UP THE PAPER WORK AND GIVE ME THE ADMIN PW SO I CAN RESET IT. at this point I would not even give 1 star but seems i have too read more

I recently called them asking if the carried a part and they told me yes. I arrived there 45min. Later and ask them about the part and the guys looks and me and says no we don't carry that. I ask him to check cause they said they had it. He walk to the back and instantly walks right back to me and says nope sorry. I see this as a pitiful rude excuse for a company. I highly recommend not bothering with them cause they obviously don't have the time to check the back for the part.wish I could give zero stars. read more

Omar was great after group in Lancaster kept my computer for 2 weeks only to tell me it was the memory that was causing an error - which is wasn't it was the motherboard that had failed. Omar was able to salvage my hard drive and transfer it to an external hard drive case and allow me to continue to move forward with my business... and for less that the other group wanted to charge to just transfer my files. George is an awesome person and very professional. He is very knowledgeable in what he does. I had bought a Mac computer last year and I have gotten this white screen with a flashing folder. I took it to Lewis Computer to see if they can fix it. At the time I was an online student and my computer was and is my life when it comes down to school. George was able to fix my computer. I was still having trouble with it and was ready to trash it, but he went beyond the call of duty and fix it to were it is running as if I just had bought it last year.
