From the dry ass bread to the inhospitable staff, this place sucks

I was excited to try Levinsky and chose it over another nearby option, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The service felt unfriendly and, at times, outright rude. Hospitality goes a long way, especially when customers are choosing to support a local business, and that was noticeably lacking during my visit. The food was equally disappointing. I ordered a tuna sandwich that tasted as though it had been made from basic canned tuna with very little attention to quality or preparation. The bread was both dry and oddly soggy at the same time, making the sandwich unpleasant to eat. In fact, I didn't even finish the meal. It also did not have the advertised ingredients on the sandwich. My sandwich ended up costing nearly $20 after tip, yet it was roughly half the size of what I would expect from a comparable sandwich shop. Given the price point, I expected significantly better quality and value. I was also surprised by the condition of the courtyard, which appeared dirty and poorly maintained. Combined with the service and food quality, the disgusting overflowing bathroom the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this establishment. There are plenty of other options nearby that offer better food, better value, and a more enjoyable customer experience.

I've eaten there twice this week, and both times, exceptional. I really love how fresh and home-made everything tastes. Today, I ordered the Israeli salad, it totally blew me away. Like I don't know where they're getting these ingredients from, but everything tasted fresh, delicious and super high-quality. And I'm new to the area, so yesterday I ordered some slider/buns for a sampling of what this place had to offer. The server was super friendly and accommodating, taking the time to walk me through the menu and share his thoughts/highlights. In terms of location, although the interior is a little small, it's well laid out and cute enough for an intimate setting. Though for me, I much prefer the outside patio which is well covered and very chic. I'm a fan and I'll definitely be back for that salad. read more

From when we came to Lewinsky Coffee Shop, it was our first time and we didn't know what to order, so we asked the employee at the register for recommendations, but she wasn't really able to guide us. That said, once we ordered, the Jerusalem panini was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. Every bite felt comforting and satisfying, and the vibe is cozy and welcoming. It's a little on the expensive side, but the quality and taste make it worth it. Overall, a really nice spot with great food--we'd come back again! read more

I visited Levinsky in West Hollywood with a friend for breakfast. The atmosphere was really nice, the place is cute, and it has a great vibe that's perfect for a casual morning or coffee date. The food was good, and everything we ordered tasted fresh. However, I was honestly surprised by how small the portions were compared to the price. By the time we got the bill, it felt like we had paid quite a lot for what we actually received. I don't mind paying more for quality food and a nice experience, but in this case, I don't think the portion sizes justified the cost. The overall experience was pleasant, and this is meant as constructive feedback because the place definitely has potential and a welcoming atmosphere. Was excited to hear there is a new Burekas spot in the area! But the prices dont make sense. Food was good but $17 for eggs and avocado in between bread is a way to gouge customers not find repeat people that vouch for you. Too many other options in west hollywood thats more affordable and good. read more

There's a nice variety of flavors and toppings, and everyone can build their own combination exactly the way they like it. The place itself is very clean and well organized, and it's clear that they really take care of the maintenance and cleanliness. The staff were very friendly and patient, and the service felt warm and welcoming. I'm not Israeli or Jewish so maybe I'm unfamiliar with the cuisine, but for the amount of money spent the food there could have been more attention to detail. I ordered the sabich which was $17.99 and it came on the saddest ciabatta bread and wrapped in Saran Wrap. The sandwich filling was underwhelming and maybe at least toast the bread to give it some crunch? Wanted to try the frozen yogurt but they were sold out. For the price it could be better. read more

Was so excited that a kosher sandwich joint opened right in West Hollywood a few blocks away from my work! I just left there and the store was pretty crowded. The staff were so busy yet attentive enough to take my order. I wasn't planning on staying just gonna take things to go. Since I love matcha, I ordered iced matcha with caramel cold foam- sounded yum! And also I saw on their Instagram their iced matcha with strawberry cold foam and it looked sooooo good I wanted to try that but unfortunately they were out of strawberry cold foam. Anyways I wouldn't call what I received matcha, it was mostly milk and ice. I also heard great things about their egg salad bites they alas they were out of that as well. I got their cheese filled burekas and that was delish - wish I would have asked them to heat it. They didn't offfer so I didn't know if they did. It's not too flakey and not too dense, just right. I also bought rugelech and chocolate croissant that was yum as well. Overall I think I would give this place another shot since I work so close by. I probably won't get their matcha again but looking forward the fro yo and egg salad bites! read more

If you've ever had frozen yogurt in Israel, this place is EXACTLY that. Not similar, literally the same vibe, same taste, same texture. The yogurt is super creamy but still light, and the flavors actually taste real, not artificial. Even the toppings and how everything is set up feels like I'm back in Israel. I've tried a lot of froyo in LA and nothing comes close to this. You can tell they actually know what they're doing. If you grew up on Israeli froyo or just want to try something way better than the usual places, go here. 10/10. read more

Our family came on a Saturday evening after an afternoon in the mall. I got the Ahi Tuna burger ($18), a substantial slab of Ahi Tuna steak on a bun with a wasabi mayo and paired with perfectly crispy, well salted frites ($5). We also got the French lobster roll ($26) a decent, but not groundbreaking, sandwich with a spicy sauce. One of our children got the tomato soup ($10) which was phenomenal - creamy and tomatoey - and paired well with grilled cheese. The cafe was clean and positioned with a great view; service was good too, with the waitress making suggestions and accommodating our children's special requests. Prices, as listed above, were excellent for the quality and quantity of food provided in an otherwise quite expensive area. More Parisien then Indochine, Nicholas deserves the unusually high rating it commands for the area. OVERALL I think it's a casual spot that serves healthy quick bites, it's a good option to sit down after or in between a shopping spree. She's young and seems like she has a lot of potential, but she comes across as unfriendly and uninterested. A simple smile, greeting, or even a warmer attitude would completely change the experience. I hope management gives her a little coaching because it would make a big difference. I won't return.

The consistency was like as if you were to blend a bunch of avocados until it became a purée and added enough lemon acidic juice until it was slightly more watery and unpalatable. Then the kicker, pickled veggies! I could cry. Who in the chef came up with this?! It's the most unbalanced thing I've ever had in my life! With something already saturated with lemon, why are you serving me pickled vegetables? Would you also like to serve me a cup of vinegar juice to wash it down with? I vowed never ever to come back, until... I tried their lattes. Hear me out, they make their own syrups. Lattes are amazing, fire, 10 out of 10! So I'll come back for those, and I do, consistently. As for the food and the pastries, who knows maybe they do serve something good in this restaurant, but the first experience was such a miss, that I'm not gonna risk my tastebuds trying to find that out. There's too many really good restaurants in LA. Fool me once... As for the service itself: the managers, the employees, they're amazing; 10 out of ten nice neighborly great people. I just had to be honest about the food. ‍
