3/30/2026: Your hours say 8am-6pm but when I pull up, your sign is closed and the door is locked. However, there's a nerdy white male in the garage bay pretending to work. I gesture if he's closed and doesn't even acknowledge me. So that's when I take my business elsewhere. It seems that they only service vehicles that they want to service. Go to Route 94 Auto down the road instead. This is not the first time that you've been nasty to me because I don't look like your usual customer. A word advice, business is all relationships. Brought multiple vehicles to this shop, mostly for simple issues like oil/filter changes or new brakes. These issues were usually fixed for reasonable cost. But for more complex requests, like replacing a cruise control switch, the shop just ignored them for days until finally I had to pick up the car. This happened on three separate occasions for this particular issue--dropped the car off, the car would sit for days with nothing done, so finally would have to retrieve the car. I had a truck that needed a new transfer case motor in order to switch from 2wd to 4wd. The shop replaced the motor but it didn't work. Brought the truck back and the mechanic said it needed new front hubs. He literally stated the hubs were in pieces. This part isn't made anymore, isn't available as an after-market item, so I personally bought a set of used hubs on eBay and brought them to the shop, expecting that they would be installed in the next few days. I ended up waiting a few weeks, with nothing done. Fed up with waiting, I retrieved the parts and took them to another local garage to install them. Problem is, the other garage told me the hubs weren't the problem. The transfer case motor wasn't working. So I brought the truck back to Levine's to demand they replace the motor (it should still be under warranty), or refund me for what I paid them to fix this, as well as the parts I bought on eBay that I thought would help them fix it. They refused, LYING about the underlying issue, and hung up on me. Bottom line is, Levine's Garage often won't get to your vehicle in a timely manner, leaving it to sit for long periods of time. But more importantly, it is sadly apparent that Steven and Arlene are more interested in getting, and keeping, ALL of the customer's money meant to fix a particular issue, even after the customer's issue is never fixed, either due to faulty installed parts or incorrect diagnosis. My first visit to Levine's Garage was a couple weeks ago to inquire about getting an oil change. My second visit was yesterday morning (in my pajamas) because I hit a pothole in the City of Newburgh and did something to my muffler (making a horrible noise). I left my car with them (Arlene the receptionist) was AWESOME and said they'd call when it was fixed. Honestly, I had no idea what this sort of repair would cost. I picked my car up this morning and they even did the oil change that I had asked about before my mishap with the muffler. Extremely fair price, excellent customer service and even threw in some humorous remarks to turn my frown upside down. Smiling still as I write this review. Levine's is a totally amazing service shop. I've been going to them for a good 20+ years. Oil changes, Tire services, brakes, you name it are always completed satisfactory. They've maintained my Honda's and Toyota's from 2008 to 2024. I only need to go to them for terrific auto services, honest and satisfied work. Arlene and Steve are just the best owners of a service shop. I am an 80 year old lady. I was sent to Levine's by a friend. How lucky was I. They treat me wonderful. I come in for silly things sometimes and they check my car out, fix something small, hand me my keys and Arlene says, "Go home." She knows me as Margaret, the truffle lady. She is very funny and a good witty sense of humor. I have never heard her speak rudely to anyone. They are the best. They don't take advantage of women like a lot of garages do. I tell everyone to go to Levine's. I went to a Chrysler dealership to replace my airbag on the passenger side. They had the car for 2 hours and I went 5 miles home and the light popped on saying, that bag wasn't working. A DEALERSHIP. LMAO!!!! Go to Levine's. read more

The above negative reviews are totally off the mark. This a great great garage. No rip-offs guaranteed, and work done quickly and well, but Mrs. Levine has a quick and acid wit, and if you jerk her around she's going to jerk right back. She's a very funny lady and makes those Saturday waiting around repairs a delight. Her funny is so smart and subtle that I'm certain she's used to having most of her jokes go right over our heads. She has been a great help to us, and the times my daughter had little things go wrong with her clunker when she was in high school, they would sometimes fix them for next to nothing as a favor to a loyal customer (smart). The comment about not tackling complex jobs is also just silly. They build performance machines from the ground up for a hobby. They can handle anything. We found this place about 5 years ago. I'll never go anywhere else. read more

The mechanics are fine and go into detail for the most part, however when my power steering cooler was on its way out, they tried to tell me it was a completely different part that needed to be replaced which was completely fine, and the lady at the front desk and who answers the phone is the rudest person I have ever met, and is impatient and doesn't like customer input. read more

I have been going to Levine's for 6 years now and trust them completely. No, the "waiting room" isn't a room, but for an oil change its quick. They only do what needs to be done and are very fair and honest. That is hard to find if you ask me. They have even given me rides home and picked me up when I had no one to help me out. My check engine light came on my 2016 Infiniti. I had the car towed to Levines. I asked that they do a complete tune up and check the brakes especially because my brake light would come on occasionally. They had it for 4 days and charged me for the spark plugs and diagnostics. When I picked the car up I noticed the brake light would still come on. I called the mechanic, he told me it was due to "the car compensating for the check engine light". Within 3 days my check engine light came back on and within moments my car broke down. I had it towed back to Levines where it sat untouched for a month while they gave me numerous excuses of why they could not get to it. After a month of this I decided to have the car towed to the Nissan shop where within one day they had the car tore down to point of breakdown. Nissan tells me that I need a new engine (luckily covered by warranty) because when the initial breakdown happened it was not properly diagnosed (which they charged me for), that they had just changed the plugs cleared the codes and gave the car back to me. Turns out my car had a timing issue and when they just changed the plugs to get it running and did not address the other codes it essentially caused irreparable damage to the entire engine. On top of that my rear brakes were metal on metal and the fluid needed to be flushed badly. I was shocked because this means they literally did nothing in the 4 days they initially had it but change the plugs. They told me my brakes were fine. I called Levines about this and Arlene basically told me "oh well there's nothing we can do for you". Nothing about the over a month of rentals coming out of my pocket, no refund for the initial hack job with the plugs, diagnostics and the neglect of my brakes and nothing for the three tows I had twice to their shop and once to get the car from their shop to Nissan while they did nothing. Do not bring your car to them. They cost me thousands of dollars and months of my time and this was all during the holidays from early Nov until the end of Dec they essentially destroyed my car and accept no responsibility. read more

If you need work outside of oil change or inspection - go somewhere else. After they did work on my car over $500.00 I had the same issue the next day, after calling for 2 weeks I was told to take it to a dealer that was 45 minutes away to find out Levines garage left many hoses disconnected and even left a clamp on a hose while performing a smoke test. Pretty sad that I drove my car for two weeks and had to call daily for assistance when they were negligent. I picked up my car from the dealer and Levines never called to tell me what the dealer found. The dealer took pictures to show Levines. read more

I have been taking my family's vehicles to Levine's for about 9 years now, and have never been disappointed. The one thing that has always stuck out to me about Levine's is that they are very honest -- never trying to gouge you or oversell repairs that aren't needed. We set a yearly budget for car repairs so I sometimes ask them to do a little more than needed, and they always come through efficiently, on-time, and with great communication. If there is anything that comes up you can bet you'll know about it promptly. As for the complaints about the lady who runs the place, she has always been great to work with, but you have to be a New Yorker to understand where she's coming from -- personally I find honesty more refreshing than pampering! You'll get much worse from kids anyway. read more

I saw some of the negative reviews and felt I needed to describe my experiences with Levine's. My brother has been taking his personal and work trucks here for years and has always had good experiences. This is the kind of shop that will not do unnecessary work to run up the bill. My first experience going to them was for a job that required the fuel tank to be removed and reinstalled. Monro Muffler Brake quoted me $800. They did the job for $300. Monro's price was over 2 1/2 times that! And just yesterday, I dropped off my car with the "Check Engine Soon" light on. I went to Advanced Auto beforehand and they read the codes. It had a P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor code and a P0327 - Knock Sensor code. I did some research and found that replacing the Cam Position Sensor usually corrects both codes. I forgot to mention that and they called and told me they only replace the Cam Sensor and the "Check Engine Soon" light went off. She even said, "I don't want to replace the Knock Sensor if I don't have to because it's behind the manifold and that's a bigger job." read more

Never had a reason yet to be annoyed with them. Fair prices, responsible service. They don't pad the bill with extras, I get car back and do not have to come back for the same problem, They have given me lifts home, they have let me take the car and pay them later... ( not sure they do this for everyone, LOL! ) Point is they are HUMAN, competent, fair, and reasonably priced. I used to love coming here only because the woman at the front desk was very friendly. I always thought their prices were high. When I called Friday afternoon desperate for new brakes and looking to make an appointment for Saturday, the same woman who I always thought was so friendly was a rude bitch on the phone. She said in nasty voice "we're only open 8-12 noon so you better bring your car early!" I said, "early like 9 or 10 ok?" and she said " No! Early like 8 am!" then I told her "if you're gonna be like that then forget it." then she hung up on me. I will never ever bring my car here ever again and I will tell everyone I know not to bring their car here. It is an absolute joke of a repair shop. I found a new place close by, New Windsor Auto Repair Center, on the corner of Windsor hwy and old forge hill Rd where they are very polite and professional and they do excellent work with extra care. read more
