I even had a slow leak that no other tire spot could figure out after charging me for new tire valve stems leaving me still with a leaking tire. These guys not only found my tire leak but charged me a fraction of what it cost me to replace the tire valve which wasn't the culprit. I believe they even sell used tires but I'm assuming that service since they do have racks of tires in the garage. These guys are my "go to" guys for tire repairs. As far as I know this shop is a simple tire repair shop, I don't think they do alignments and such.

I just did the front brakes and checked the rear brakes while doing a brake fluid flush a month ago, all the pads and rotors were well above requirement, but something could have frozen up so when I did the rear brakes today. The rotors and pads were still all well above the requirements to pass. I went to Mavis to speak to a manager and was told they failed because of a score mark so shallow it would be hard to feel if your eyes were closed on rotors that were otherwise in good condition . I asked him to explain how such a shallow score mark on an otherwise good rotor with evenly worn pads could possibly pose a safety issue and he could not answer me, he said it was at their discretion. Here's a shocker an elderly woman just brought her car in for an inspection and guess what, she needed brakes too. She overhead me and asked my advise and I told her to take it to elswhere and recommended a local shop I use. I usually stay away from shops like Mavis for just this reason and always use a reliable local mom and pop shop for any work I'm not comfortable doing. Unfortunately he needed it done on short notice and I had just checked everything so I couldn't imagine it being a problem, but these franchise shops prove me wrong once again. But should you ever find yourself in such a spot, the answer is simple. Slow your roll. Exit the highway as soon as possible. Find a mechanic to patch you up and get you back on the road. Oh yeah, and pray to god it's not Saturday, since most reputable mechanics take their weekends off. Well, on a recent Saturday such a fate befell me and my poor Mazda5. The car is old, but in good repair. It's serviced regularly, and just recently got a clean bill of health. So that brain twisting screeching sound was really quite a mystery. Did I mention I know nothing about cars? Still, I pulled into a nearby Denny's to look under the hood to see if anything was clearly broken. I looked under the wheel well to see if some piece of metal snapped. And I saw nothing. So I hopped on the Yelp app and found that the Meineke next door was not just open, but also well reviewed. The team there saved my life. Not literally of course. As it turned out, my life was never in danger. But they were able to get my car on the lift, and take it out on road, all within about an hour of my showing up. They determined that it was nothing. Maybe it had been something. Whatever small piece of road debris had gotten into the wheel well, had apparently worked itself out. They could have told me something was wrong with the bushings. I could have been taken for hundreds of dollars at that moment. But instead, they sent me back on the road with a smile, and refused to take any money for their time. Sure, they didn't actually fix anything. But their trained eye gave me peace of mind. And that's worth a lot. Thank you random Meineke. You guys rock.
