We had a terrible experience there. We just got a used car from another state and went there for…read moreinspection. The car passed the inspection from another state already, and when they did NY state inspection, they told us the rear brake was low and advised us to get a new one. So we spent $1000 on that. And we didn't negotiate the price, which was a mistake. While we were waiting, we saw all other customers negotiate, so don't forget to do that if you want a more reasonable price. After the replacement, it passes the inspection again. And we were on our way cross state for the holiday. Only after about 30 miles, we noticed the rear brake had major issues and it was not safe to drive, but by that time, we were already in New Jersey. We had to call towing company spending money to tow it, and it definitely delayed our trip. We went back the next day, and they wouldn't take accountability for this. They said when they inspected it, it was all fine. Even when we ask them, how come this happened after we spent $1000 replaced a new brake. This is unacceptable. They did end up repairing it for free, but we couldn't make to our holiday gathering on time and wasted so much time waiting for the expensive towing.

The guys thoroughly troubleshot the issue: they drove it and figured that it was actually coming from an oil leak. They power-washed the engine bay, drove it some more, and determined the exact source of the leak. They gave everything another look and after finding engine gunk determined that the car probably didn't have the most regular oil changes in its past. (In my defense, it was a used car - I'm an every-5,000-miles kind of guy). This also surprised me, since the car had been to a certain 3-letter luxury car dealership twice in the last year and this leak was never discovered. The next day, the issue was fixed, all fluids topped-off, and I was on my way. The guys stayed open late so I could pick up my car and explained all of the work that was done; no shady up-sell. I've been to many mechanics over the years - national chains, "quick lubes", luxury dealerships, domestic dealerships, "discount" tire shops all around the country. This place is, by far, the most thorough, honest, and professional place I've ever been - I felt like I was personally being attended to.
