I'm not sure if all 3 were employees or if they were friends of an employee. They were talking loudly, cussing, and laughing all the while huddled on the counter, held up by propping themselves with their elbows, circled around a cell phone that was on speaker!! This went on for the entire 30 minutes I shopped around. When I went to checkout, they didn't leave much room for me to step in and lay my items down. On the counter was a half eaten greasy looking cold taco, which the employee put down, in order to pick up my items to scan!! I will not go to this store again!!

We will be taking my hard-earned money elsewhere…read more We have spent hundreds of dollars at this store over time, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Last year, I purchased a suit for my son that ended up being too big. The weekend before Easter, I brought it back in with the receipt and tags still attached to have it altered. I paid $50 to have the pants altered. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until Sunday morning, while getting my son ready for church, that I had accidentally left the suit jacket in the store. I the next day, but the store was closed for Easter Sunday. First thing Monday morning, I went back and spoke with the manager, Cari. She took my information, I noted the description of the jacket, and told me to give her a couple of days to look into it since it was right after the holiday. Days went by with no follow-up. When I called midweek, she said she hadn't seen it. I followed up again on Saturday, and at that point she told me "it's not looking good," but she would continue to check. I even suggested reviewing the cameras or speaking with the security guard who assisted me and handled my items when I first arrived. In the end, I was told the store is not responsible for "personal items left behind." This was not just any personal item, it was a brand new jacket purchased from that very store, never worn. I even brought my receipt and showed proof of purchase. To make matters worse, I was then told the suit didn't come with a jacket, which is simply not true. When I originally purchased it, there were plenty of matching jackets on the rack. I've worked in retail before, and this is not how situations like this are typically handled especially when there is clear proof of purchase and an opportunity to review what happened. Now I've paid for alterations on pants that are essentially useless without the jacket and the alteration cost more than the suit itself. This situation was handled poorly from start to finish, especially the lack of communication and follow-up. I will be returning all of my recent purchases and taking my business elsewhere.

I've been in a few times and after today (literally had to take a Benadryl from the dust and had the worst customer service experience) I will never step foot in here again. I've been a very loyal jcrew customer for most of my young adult- adult life; we're talking decades. Living all across the country and constantly traveling for work, I've just always relied on JCrew as my staple. They're everywhere, the customer service is almost always top notch- even offering to style when they see you struggling for a last minute event! One of my favorite event outfits to this day was actually put together by an awesome jcrew floor person helping me when I was too stressed to think for myself (not this location). This location has single handedly ruined my multi-decade love affair with the brand/store. Why so bad? Listed below: 1. It's absolutely filthy. The hangers literally have dust stuck to them and are sticky to the touch. It's truly disgusting and honestly concerning given the times we live in. On top of that, the store today was about 90 degrees (it's 70 outside). I don't recall this from my past visits but it just goes with the gross, unkept vibe of the entire store. Seriously- I've been to goodwills cleaner than this place. I wish that was hyperbole. 2. The inventory. They have very limited inventory. The pieces are essentially just basic casual pants, tshirts, sundresses and sweaters. Very limited business attire and none of their elevated pieces. The store is flush with xxs-m sizes. If you're lucky you'll find a L and the XL's are so rare I'm convinced they only have them if someone brings in a return. So disappointing. This does not reflect the city they're serving as the only jcrew in the area. Clearly this is a move to keep out a certain type of clientele. 3. The staff. Holy moly. Could not care less. I had returns I wanted to exchange today and did circles around this store desperately looking for something to fit my taste and my size. Very hard since I'm a 12/L -XL. No one offered me help despite there being a good number of staff buzzing about. What really pissed me off is this: I had a couple of items that I bought final sale online. Everyone knows it's an unspoken rule that if you go into the store, ask nicely and treat it like an exchange/spend a bit more than what you're returning, they'll do it for you. The person working the cashier told me they can't take back final sale. They got a 'finger wagging' from some entity. I was about to give them $60 of final sale merchandise (plus one regular return) and purchase over $300 of clothing. I shared my surprise since I had always been allowed to do that in all my time shopping with jcrew, even at this very store, and that I wasn't interested in purchasing the other items if that was going to be the case. She dug her heals in with her condescending tone as if I didn't understand the phrase final sale. Given the precedent set by these types of exchanges occurring literally for decades and how truly out of wack and unreliable jcrew sizing has become these past 2yrs I feel very taken advantage of. Now maybe jcrew really has decided to change their policy to just really hit customers hard and remove any flexibility or respect for customer loyalty during these challenging economic times. Or maybe this salesperson couldn't be bothered. Either way, this store is abysmal and has been for a while with no signs of any effort or desire to get better. Not only will I never walk into this store again but it's so bad I'm done with jcrew as a brand with this being my only option in the area.

Bogo sales are final, but he provided a gift receipt when I told him the shoes were for someone else who doesn't make it out there too often. The person loves the shoes, but due to a foot issue, they were a little tight on her, so she actually came to the store and moved up a size (and had to pivot to different colors) on her subsequent visit. I'm so glad the employee offered the gift receipt. Had he not, we'd be stuck with some shoes that couldn't be worn and we'd be reluctant to try the Merrell Outlet again. Now we're fans!

After being followed around the store for the first 10 mins I tried to ignore the behavior and go try on the items I had picked out. While in the dressing room trying on about 7 or 8 items and changing I was repeatedly asked to give back the items that I did not want. I had not even made a decision-I was floored that in the middle of me trying on clothes-she wanted me to open the door and give her shirts/shorts back that I hadn't even made a decision about. I did not get to even finish trying on the clothes before giving up and putting my clothes back on. At no point did I feel welcomed or valued as a customer. She showed complete lack of respect for my privacy in the dressing room and basic courtesy. I am sure I am not the first person to be treated like this at this location but I do hope that I am the last. I went right next door to Banana Republic and had a wonderful experience. Please do not shop here -there are other locations that will treat their customers this way.
