I had a slight challenge playing phone tag with the coaches but very glad I was persistent and this place was fantastic. Augustine and Sarah were the coaches that I interacted with I told them some of my specific limitations and they were very hands-on in monitoring movement standards to make sure that I was comfortable with the workouts. The other members in the class were very welcoming and it was nice to have that hometown feel where everybody is just looking to get a little bit better each day while suffering through the process. Thanks CrossFit Oroville I appreciate your hospitality.

Loving the daily recipe ideas that are posted breakfast can get boring just eating eggs so I am loving it! As a working mom it helps me not get bored. Chris being a Physical Therapist has my injuries and safety in mind- checking in often, making sure I am not hurting anything and he is making me stretch cuz I am "THAT" girl who says who has time for that and would run off if left to do it on my own. I didn't get bored which I started getting bored with other work outs and I am competitive so I wanted to beat the boys in my class.I have to go strait from their gym to my work and they have a clean wonderful shower for me to use which makes it possible for me to work out in the mornings. I'm impressed great job team.

This post is long overdue. Hard to say enough great things about this place. I was visiting while…read moreon vacation over the 4th of July and the entire staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. From the owners to the trainers, each came by to make sure I had what I needed and to answer any questions I had. I also had the opportunity to watch them engage with their members, which crossed the spectrum of beginners to extremely fit. In each scenario they were able to scale the exercises to the person and make it just challenging enough to get an ideal workout. Despite having every piece of equipment you could possibly need, somehow CrossFit Gold Rush is greater than the sum of its parts. It has the owners and staff to thank for that. Oh, and 2018's Fittest Woman on Earth (over 60 years old) often trains here. She is an absolute inspiration and couldn't be nicer. Cant wait to visit again soon.

Red flags!! Red flags!! Red flags!! "After a change of management"…read more My health professionals recommended I join a fitness program to overcome my PTSD, so my husband and I /working professionals/ 35+ years of age started this gym about 6 months back. I've noticed, that when others got in late for a session, they didn't join the class and worked out on their own, so the day I got in late I thought I could do the same and hurried in. I was minding my own business until I asked Cam (the trainer) a question.. and - that was it! He told me, you got in 30 min late so I won't help you which was understandable so I walked away to my corner, because I didn't want to disturb the class either. But then I saw him complaining about me to the Gym Owner "Susan" who then came up FURIOUSLY towards me and started YELLING, in the middle of the gym while the class was in progress - 'that I can't be walking in 30 min late and ask Cam (the trainer) questions ever again'.. and so on.. she went on schooling me for next 10 min and questioned me about things like - "where is my husband", why do I owe her any explanations about my personal life again? Did she want a confirmation that I was singled out so she could berate me further? I was put under so much stress and pressure by watching her monitor me so I couldn't put up the equipment right and there she started to insult me again- "You don't even know this much, you have been coming to the gym for so long you should know at least this by now... And so making further such personal attacks" No one treats their clients this way after I had already apologized to her and had requested that I can do it on my own, so please let me be. I'm still taken aback by this experience and this incident has taken a few days to process, for me to put it together, so I can share my experience with you, for you to know actually what happened with me. There is no place where one should be schooled like a child and with no dignity, especially if you are in the health industry. It's so disappointing to see an elderly woman over 60 years of age, shouldn't you be the one encouraging and not putting down a woman client? I'm confused, shouldn't you be the one acting a bit more professional being the owner? Couldn't you have taken me to the lobby to discuss this rather than create a big drama in the middle of a class and insult me? But I also learned by digging in deeper that this is a new management since Covid so the story kind of makes sense! She has created problems for us in the past about other issues as well - like before joining, she said dogs are welcome, but then later I was told by her to get special permissions from the trainer each time I want to bring my dog in the gym, and this is a SERVICE DOG for my PTSD we are talking about. Why are the clients here not treated with basic equality and basic dignity? She never tried to care or ask why I needed a dog to bring with me, but created problems so I had to avoid bringing my dog. The lady has to deal with her power trip issues and get educated about the basic mannerisms of being a gym owner. Hope, someday she'll know better and learn to maintain her cool! NO ONE is supposed to be treated this way, her actions were DEMEANING and VICIOUS towards me. I would encourage everyone who is facing this behavior to please speak up, stand up, and educate, and don't entertain this nonsense. My husband and I are people of color, and are proud to have been graduated from the Ivy League universities of Cornell and Yale respectively, and run several businesses and own properties around the world, and we have worked hard to achieve our dreams, especially in another country. I feel, the lady not acknowledging and being disrespectful towards us just shows her lack of exposure, experience, and immaturity. I'd not recommend this gym to anyone, especially to People Of Color, who are doing well for themselves, by working hard, away from their homes... I know their struggles and endeavors to thrive against all odds, do not allow discrimination, WATCH OUT for these ones!!!

My son joined in the summer of 2025, right after graduating high school, to strength train before college tryouts. He could not say enough about it, and recommended it to us. I wondered how an 18 year old and his parents could both love the same gym, but tried it anyway. I had never really used barbells or done CrossFit when I joined, although I have always been generally active. Kirsten and Matt have created a special, welcoming, supportive community. All the coaches were amazing, and Lisa and Ashley in particular were incredibly helpful to me - their patience and knowledge inspired confidence that I could continue to improve, and showed me that I actually wanted to. As the year went on, I found myself looking forward to going to the gym - something I have never felt before. We are moving out of the area, and I never would have thought I would be sad to leave a gym, but I truly am. I hope to visit when we are back, and I am grateful for everything the CFD community has done for me this year.
