One of my pandemic go to spots, especially now that I live in NE and I am a quick drive away. First, the beer: the IPAs and pale ales are uniformly great, the lagers are solid, and I enjoyed the saison. There are a lot of local beers available, but Level is a top 5 for me, rivaling Breakside, Ex Novo and Baerlic. The branding is unique and I like it a lot, video game 80's style graphics (I think!). There are four food carts out front, and even on a chilly day during the weekday one was open and served a great lamb kofta. There is a backyard open area with a dog run, and chairs to lounge about. There is a large covered patio with a firepit next to it. Lots of space to bring your pup and have a pint. read more

Bitter sweet place... First, I love the beer here! I like the outside area and the food carts right outside, however... The 3 times I've been here, it's the kids that have been here that have ruined the experience. I don't really blame the kids, it's the parents that seem to be not aware that the kids are on top of the tables yelling or throwing rocks out through the fence onto 148th street. The first time we were here, one of the staff had to ask who's kid was running around and for the parents to watch their kid. It's quite a bummer because I do like the beer. read more

A solid brewery! I rolled with their sour at first and was very happy with my choice. All the gaming decor was pretty cool, too. I noticed they have a few dedicated food trucks parked outside of the brewery, as well. Unfortunately I wasn't hungry so I can't attest to the food, but the beer is great!! Service was pretty rough. Only two people pouring taps at 5:30pm and they weren't very nice. Stood in a cattle line for 25 mins waiting for their service. Their beer was decent. Wine selection minimal and when asked about spirits. The answer was No. laugh in the face. Kind of caught us off guard when we were trying to have a good time while trying out a new establishment. You have to bus your own table, stand in a line to get served at the counter though a small door opening and walk through a maze of high top tables inside to get outside into the greenhouse. Space outside was pretty nice, a lot of kids for a weeknight, but nice to see families and the puppy dogs. Greenhouse was pretty loud because the plastic walls, but still nice, breezy, and open. Food carts were pretty cool, easier ordering and they gave you a buzzer when your food was up. Which was a nice touch to their service. If you want to use their video arcade games, make sure you bring singles because if you ask them to break your ones or give them two dimes and a nickel in exchange for a quarter. They aren't having it. They will simply throw away the two dimes and nickel because they do not accept that type of currency. Don't ask me to explain, but that is their policy. Apparently they are too good for dimes and nickels folks. The five people standing at the counter all looked as surprised as you are probably thinking. Hopefully they will change their Level of service to have us come back. Two stars represented the food carts food (would love to have given the food carts five stars), but want to be true for the Level Beer service. read more

This exceptional brewery does it right on a number of levels (get it?): 1. Great beer. The few times I've visited I've been blown away by a different beer every time. 2. Great food options. I like that Level Beer focuses on the beer, yet provides some great options for food. Our favorite is Bam Pow! Burgers, who just kill it with their grilled cheese sandwich. Trust me, it's the best I've ever had! 3. Great ambiance. The space is funky, old and has lots of character. I love the beer garden and the long tables. Kudos on the kid play area, where parents can easily keep an eye on the kiddos while enjoying a brew. My only gripe is how far they are from my home! There has to be a really good reason to justify making the trek to Level, and you better believe I've created some really good reasons. Went to this brewery for the first time. Such a cool experience. I feel like if you lived in the area it would be an epic local spot. Hole in the wall, old, weathered, warehouse turned brewery, revived feeling main space. Super thought out, heated, kid and dog friendly outdoor tent space. Delicious food trucks outside. Super weird location. Very industrial, and around other warehouses. Beer was excellent- I had IPA's. I'd definitely go back because of the epic outdoor space. read more

Excellent beer not so excellent service. I visited this establishment 1 hour before close and was greeted and served promptly. After about 15 minutes a couple families came in and ordered two beers, one of the individuals handed some cash to the bartender and he returned it stating they were free. Don't think it was the owner, regardless it just seems like poor practice. A couple minutes after that I stood up and asked for a second beer at which point he pointed at the taps and explained he had closed them down already. It was 8:30 and business hours are until 9:00pm. He seemed to want to get out of there quickly and they don't sell anything else other than food so why not change the business hours to 8:30 rather than misleading customers to think they are open until 9:00. read more

Great brewery outside the inner parts of the city. I loved the retro gaming theme to it. They have wide selection of IPAs for $6. I ended up getting the saison with apricot notes, which was more of the sour end for what I'd expect out of a saison but I still enjoyed it. They have an small indoor seating area but a much larger outside inside a greenhouse patio too with corn hole boards. For food, there are food trucks you can purchase and bring inside. There was a Mexican, burger and gyro food trucks They have a few arcades that you could play (coin operated; coin machine on site). It would be pretty dope if the arcades were free to play if you were a customer. Oh well. Definitely a nice brewery and conveniently located for any post gorge hikers returning into the city. Video games, cornhole, outdoor seating, polite staff and a back area for your dogs to play. They've expanded quite a bit as well as added more on tap. We love this place! We've been too many times to count...the beer is amazing, the food carts are awesome, but the biggest draw for us are the kids' spaces! We love that our kiddo can run around before and after we eat, and doesn't have to sit in a chair! :) Last weekend, we held our 3-year-old's birthday party at Level and it was wonderful! The space was perfect, and Stephen (events and taproom manager) was so great to work with! He was super helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout setup and the party. There's a great space that works for indoor or outdoor events, and it was a nice day so we were able to float in and out. Just perfect. The beer selection is great. The staff is friendly. They have an outdoor area that is very nice. In the winter they have heat outside. We've been customers since they opened. Although, we haven't been back for some time. We are frustrated about the beer mugs. We purchased them because they offered a dollar off the beer price for the life of the mug. During Covid19 they stopped this. We totally understood why they did during Covid19. My question, why haven't they brought that back? I feel like we were ripped off. Also, on Sundays there is usually only one food cart. They should have more available on the weekends. read more

When a San Diego kid drives 10+ miles out of his way for a hoppy pale ale...you know it has got to be good. My business partner and I stopped in here at the start of a trip for some local beer and ended up spending over $100 in beer and shwag, that is how much wen enjoyed it. We samples several beers and there were some great standouts, the smokey pale was a great one, as was the brown ale...but the stand out for us was the hoppy pale ale, which was a perfect example of this ever popular beer. So, we came back on our way out of town as well for even more beers. The staff was friendly and helpful each time of course and the location has a great mix of tap room, ample covered outside tables, some completely outside tables and even a small children's play area to make the parents lives a bit easier. This all, along with the three local food trucks that have taken up residence outside, make this a one stop shop for sure. I can't wait to stop back in here on my next trip to town. read more

What a cool find. This is definitely a local hangout and you can see why. While it is a brewery I would venture to guess there were more kids and dogs than adults. Not in a distracting way - the majority of the public space is outside, under a greenhouse type roof - there used to be a farmers market here. Plenty of room for corn hole and other backyard games. I got beer here about 4-5 times during quarantine and just this week for another beer pickup. The beer is always amazing, cannot be beat! Get anything and you will be impressed. There are also a few food trucks to choose some great food from too. The staff is taking sanitizing and safety very seriously. We went here to celebrate a friend's new career beginning, and had our party out on the back portion of the brewery. There was plenty of seating, lots of toys and fun for the kids to have. There was also a DOG RUN! WOW. Talk about dog FRIENDLY!!! That is so awesome, and thoughtful of the owners to do. Our dog had plenty to do and to wear himself out with while we were there. Their beers were all very good. I had a wheat hefe type beer and it was delicious. We had a quick taste of the Watermelon Basil beer before we left and it was SO good that we ended up taking a 32 oz can home! DELICIOUS!! So back tracking into this, the location seemed quite FAR away from everything PORTLAND, and it looked kind of shabby when we pulled up. I was super concerned that it wouldn't be clean or wouldn't be comfortable but all of that was quickly put to ease once we got in. Our kids and our dog, and ourselves had a really fun time, and we WILL be back to try more of your beers and the excellent service we got. REALLY cool place. And the closest to our favorite brewery back in St. Pete, FL 3 Daughters (shout out!) that we have found. Level has cornhole, arcade games and other outdoor fun. My boys (9, 7) have never been exposed to a true arcade game.... UNTIL NOW! I dropped no less than $10 into The Simpsons, and to see their glowing smiles for 45 minutes was the highlight of my week. I, on the other hand, lasted only 3 minutes on Star Wars pinball. They also have the old PacMan and some hunting game. Oh, also a driving game. Easy access from Vancouver is a plus for us. Outdoor seating is huge, under a greenhouse thing, and heated. You can also sit outside the greenhouse thing to be actually outside. Food carts are actually really decent. Awesome layout, customer service was great. Not even a real beer drinker, but thanks to these guys...having a blast trying all the varieties. Wish there were more food carts, but my picky about taqueria food hubby put a 4 stars on that cart, too! He wants to go back soon as possible. Just coming out of covid lockdown, felt like they have that in consideration, too! Wondering if they do live music-they certainly have the outdoor property. Nice brewery on the opposite end of PDX airport! We swung by after stopping in Cascade Plaza and it was nice out so the lady wanted to be in the sun and I wanted beer. I can't remember the name of my beer (genius something) but it was a hazy IPA. I tried a sample and initially didn't like it, but it grew on me and I ended up getting a pint. The lady ordered the pale ale and it was refreshing. For food we shared the impossible burger at bam pow burger (food truck - they have a taco truck too). A mighty tasty burger but really salty! The entire burger was vegan which may scare some away, but do not fret. It's a good burger. Idk if it was just our burger, but I'm pretty sure we got a good weeks worth of sodium in that burger...but again, it was good lol. Nice signage and very nostalgic gaming/movie decor/paintings indoor. Plenty of outside seating, however we came during a busy time and sat out front by the parking lot. Personally, this is a long quest/trek for someone from Hillsboro, like myself. But, my husband and I went up there early evening on a Saturday, and got to hang out for a bit with our dog, Remy as well. And, then afterwards we walked around Kelley Point Park, and then took Germantown (Country Roads/back roads) back home to beverly- HILLSboro. It was extremely worthwhile in my opinion, and I'm glad we made it up there. The spot is very fun. They have about 2 acres, so it's fun to walk around and enjoy the barn lifestyle. When we were there; there was 3 food carts on site. I'm sure they were all delicious, but my husband and I both went with the Mexican Cart, and got the vegetarian burrito and guacamole and chips! It paired really well with the Beers from Level. I really enjoyed the artwork in the inside, they were video game and nintendo- themed, so it was a good partnership with Level Beer! I also liked the Seinfeld & Larry David artwork as well, for good measure! It was fun walking around inside and checking out the artwork while drinking amazing beer. They do have tables inside that are available, but the outside space is really well designed with a variety of communal tables, or private barrels for standing tables. They even had a 'lil kiddie wading pool in the way back, and then they also have other games and activities like corn hole. The Music selection was spot on. And, that sums up the ambiance of the space, their mantra is all about balance, and their space reflects that, and it's not overly- trendy it is just a cool spot. And, the beers are amazing too. They have a good tap list from other brewers, as well as collaborations with Level Beer and other well known breweries; such as Laurelwood, Breakside, Culmination, The Commons, Ex Novo, Widmer, Deschutes. I unfortunately did not get to sample all of the collabs; but I surprised myself that my favorite was the Schwarzbier on nitro that was a collab between Level Brewing and Deschutes Brewing. It was creamy, it was amazing. And, from briefly skimming the Level Beer website- about- section I learned that at least 2 of the 3 co-founders of Level Beer have a rich history with Deschutes, so it is neat to see a really good beer be produced from that enriched history. I also personally loved the collab with Culmination and Level that was the: Verdict Lager. Self-described on the menu as: with pineapple, jalapeño, cilantro and mint. It is probably obvious to the reader at this point, and I do not need to say it, but it paired PERFECTLY with my veggie burrito and the guacamole. It was light and refreshing and was perfect on a warm, summer evening. And, it was a nice change-up for me, as I tend to stick to IPA's, so it is good to have a good beer that is NOT an IPA for once!! read more
