After looking at Jemistry's Instagram page and seeing her flawless work, I decided to book an appointment with her. Despite her busy schedule, Jemistry was able to squeeze me in for an appointment. My original bundles and lace closure, which I provided, did not have the same color. Thus, Jemistry accommodated me and did a color correction on my bundles so that the color would match the color of my lace closure. And these are my results of the lace closure Install! I love how my hair looks and feels, and I'm really amazed at the results. For expert coloring, last minute appointment accommodations and amazing work, book Jemistry hair studio! First red flag was her scheduling a video consultation yet never calling and claims she forgot about it yet she set the date and time. Next the 100 dollar deposit which I tried to just role with even though to me that's very steep. Next I come on time for my appointment and there no receptionist. I text to let her know I'm here and she comes out and says I think your my client. Like what? Wouldn't most professionals say ex Ashley? Idk small indicators was pointing towards the unprofessionalism ahead of time. I promise I came in at 11 am and was nearly having my hair bleached until a good 1 to 2 o'clock before any other work started which was highly questionable to me but could be standard but was unheard method to me but I tried to trust the "professional". And next berating me and raising her voice at me like I was her child because I didn't like her work so far after asking if my hair color would stay as bright while she was adding the color on and could easily just make the changes. Her disgusting attitude persist after I just try to ask can she wash it out and she tells me no without explanation rudely while sipping on a drink. I go to the bathroom to wash the dripping color that she failed to wipe off the cape and then came back to yell some more about getting under a dryer like I'm a kid and washing my hands for 30 seconds due to her sloppy work would ruin things. I came in for midnight blue hair and this lady gives a dark skin woman blue blue hair. It was so unflattering but it didn't matter to her to put her name on what the customer felt unflattering because it's about the money for her. Even another customer in the shop looks over who was unaware and asked is that royal blue? Exactly royal blue and midnight blue two different colors. A good stylist would reassure you through the process and work with you but she fanned the flame by saying well that's what you asked for don't blame me! Yelling, you over her giving me all this attitude! Mind you I said nothing nothing prior to her tangent but surely my face did because its my hair! Been natural for years and its not what I asked for. When I did nothing but ask a simple question. She was very rough with my natural hair the entire time roughly raking the comb from the top to bottom. Any African American knows with black hair to detangle you start from the bottom middle and THEN top to detangle with a comb. She was so very obnoxious. Very disrespectful. Tried to do something nice for myself and just role with it and trust a "professional" and ended up with the experience from Hell. By 3 pm which the blow drying process would have just started after being there for the longest I just opted out, I had enough of the disrespect and just wanted to pay her for services so far and just be on my way. In which at first she tried it and to say I would still have to pay her for all services and my response is yeah only for what you've already done. Then there was comments about me messing up the screen because it close out during payment on my way out even doing that. I swear to God I was boiling. Thank God my sister was able to help me after leaving the shop with my hair and color to level things out. This is the exact reason people are leery of supporting black businesses because that representation right there. I love my people but I'm so tired of encountering this same archetype hairstylist everywhere! Very disappointing experience.

She took absolute excellent care of my hair. It grew like weeds in her care. Michelle chose an appropriate relaxer for my desired & hair type, and she ensured my relaxers never burned. She was usually able to get me into her chair on time, with natural delays here & there. They worked with me when I had an issue that caused me to require cancellation at the last minute. I also like their equipment and the seating was comfortable. I'll say that some of the stylists are really not good about replying to requests for information, and I usually had to call the salon to get a reply. The website is decent but really needs to be updated. A detailed FAQ section would save potential clients a lot of time. Both of these issues are easily fixable, though. Parking was usually fine & stress-free and it's on a major bus line. Although I'm taking a different direction with my hair, I definitely recommend this salon for folks looking for a permanent salon home.

My hair was way thicker than she thought and she said guess what we can pull out the pull off the style however you want it in the band 2 kn they were gorgeous. Everyone loved my hair and I was able to pair it with some of the hair accessories. I have then the second time she did my hair which is current. I love my hair I can style it anyway I want corn rolls the front and I let her corn roll. Whatever she's feeling whatever design she's feeling that day as long as she leaves some out in the back sometimes she'll say no I need to braid the back to get it to grow and her growth oil. Her oil for your scalp is amazing. It's $10 a bottle and it's worth every single penny I now have two bottles of oil scout oil. My mom has like four bottle bottles. The vibe is really nice. My hearing is very sensitive. So when I come to the shop, she make sure that in her area she turns down the volume completely on the TV or the music and I'm very sensitive to smells. She make sure it smells like Kashmir as she make sure that I'm OK that I have water she just is very, very wonderful and very lovely and she listens to you and gives you exactly what you want. She goes above and beyond, and I asked her to wash my hair and scrub my scout real good and she washes it in scrubs it not to where it hurts but she asked me before I get up out of the shampoo bowl when she shampoos it and then conditions it she said that I get all the areas of your scalp that itch. I say yes yes yes ma'am I even fell asleep when she was washing and shampooing and conditioning my hair and she does deep conditioners. It's awesome. I love her and her prices are reasonable. She doesn't request much. She just wants you to be satisfied, you cannot walk out that door unsatisfied she will go back and rearrange her schedule if you're not satisfied with your hair, but she checks in on you during the appointment and says OK do you like it? Is this OK? Is this all right and if you say no, she said OK we'll start over. We'll start over. I love it. I love her shot. She used to have two shots but now she converted it to one which is wonderful. I have even taken a few cards and giving them away and left them with different people like today. I left one of her cards with the lady at the library South Bowie branch and said just let her touch your hair just and if she helps it grow, it's wonderful and she's a licensed. She has her licensed cosmetology and a Loctician and even silk press she does those she does it all. She's so amazing. I leave her card on different people's cars. They want to have their hair done all natural even if you want a chemical in it she won't mind, but she will tell you the pH balance of your hair. What's good for it? I had an evening appointment so when I walked in, they had been juggling clients all day. I'm sure they were exhausted but it never showed. I really appreciate the ladies who run and work at this shop. Their authenticity, skill, honesty cannot be quantified and I haven't found another shop in the area with this much juice. This is the best sew-in I've had in a long time. It looks like it grew out of my own scalp! Rita did my hair and she was very sweet and fun to talk to. She listened to my concerns about not wanting a weave that's too tight, and she checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was comfortable.
