6:10am when they are supposed to open at 6am. The staff continue to run in & out with food bags. It's rude because they have customers standing outside waiting to get inside. On Christmas Day, I called the pharmacy to check on prescriptions after my spouse left urgent care. After being placed on hold for about 30 minutes and hung up on several times, I decided to drive to the store, remaining on hold the entire drive. When I arrived 20 minutes later, the phone was still ringing--no one had answered it. I walked into the pharmacy as they were already starting to close before the posted time. The pharmacy closed at 5 PM, but it was 4:59 PM, and they had already closed all their doors, ready to leave. I explained my frustration to the pharmacy techs. One of the techs, Azrya, was completely rude and displayed no professionalism. I took a picture of her name tag with the intention to report the poor customer service. She walked up to me, tried to grab my phone, and pushed me. I then requested to speak with the store manager, who was not there at the time, but I spoke with the shift lead. At 9pm I was told It would be ready at 11am the following day. I explained that I needed the prescription and had been waiting for hours. I attended this location after scheduling an online appointment to get the COVID Vaccine, in addition to the HPV and Meningitis vaccines for my son. I went to front of the line to speak with an employee working in the pharmacy. I arrived fifteen minutes prior, as instructed on the Walgreen's website, but was instructed by a male pharmacist to get in line. I got in line and ended up having to wait an additional 14 minutes, but the line went fairly quick. After getting to the counter I had to complete paperwork for my son to receive the COVID Vaccine. I asked about the HPV and Meningitis Vaccines because they were also scheduled in my appointment, but the pharmacist told me to reschedule an appointment for earlier in the day (early morning time). This location of Walgreens is hell on earth. The pharmacists are pretty nice -- but only when you can actually talk to them. Otherwise be prepared to stay on hold forever or, God forbid, you actually come to the pharmacy in person and end up waiting in line forever. It will happen. The retail, non-pharmacy part of this Walgreens is nothing to write home about. Some young folks work here, and they are friendly and kind. I admire them for balancing their work and their schooling. You call and they have you on eternal hold, I hear them pick up the line and place back on hold, to that horrible music. This place is a mess!! This location has the worst service, personally I think the store is intentionally understaffed because it's in a predominantly African American community. I came earlier and was in line in the drive thru, left my mom in the car and went inside after waiting 20 minutes. To my surprise there was a pharmacist and 1 cashier with 13 people in line. I'm a frequent customer of this particular Walgreens location. Services (mainly pharmacy) started off GREAT. My prescriptions were filled in a timely manner and the customer service was splendid. Unfortunately, lately the pharmacy service has gone down tremendously! I'm not sure if it's the influx of customers since they've taken on RiteAid....but its HORRIBLE. Wait times for prescriptions, lines and hold times are beyond POOR!! After repeatedly miscounting a controlled substance buy a vast amount I will never go back to this location for my medication. I have never had this issue with any other pharmacies. Have a claim in and lawyer says next step is call DEA For gross mishandling of a controlled substance. I had paid for a controlled prescription on 3/7/22 in the early evening. The total pill count prescribed by the doctor is (28) pills. There were (3) pills missing out of the prescription bottle. In addition, the pharmacist was contacted to resolve the discrepancy. He mentioned that the pills are counted by (5). His response is that he will check the store camera. Cashier with short locks couldn't answer not one question I had, and I had to ask him to find someone to help me! Was looking for a particular natural skin care brand and they didn't have it in stock but had its price and label on display. "Oh nah, we don't curry dat" I was told. Fine. I'm not one to complain much so I strolled to the cashier again with something else they had I wanted ( although the one I wanted they also didn't have that in stock), paid for my item and tried to sign up for their rewards program. If zero stars was an option, that is how I would rate this Walgreens pharmacy. If you ever get sick and need your prescription timely, avoid this place. The lines are outrageously long, both inside and out. The wait times are even longer. On Friday morning, my doctor sent my prescription there electronically and since my insurance changed since the last time I was their I received a txt message saying I needed to call. It is now Saturday and I have still not been able to reach anyone. I have not started my medication. Worst experience ever. Systems Down & Unprofessional Staff with a cavalier attitude. This pharmacy staff had the nastiest attitude I have ever encountered. I daughter's seziure medication was transferred from Takoma Park to Clinton 9.2.15. Now I understand that my situation is a different from most so I try to make proper arrangements, 16 yrs no pass problems. My daughter is 16, she lives at home an she's on life support, it's important that we keep her at meds at a therapeutic level. 1. Rx transferred from Takoma to Clinton 9.2.15 2pm. I stressed how important this was, I'm was advised it would me ready by 1:30pm on 9.3.15. 2. Just leaving work 9.3.15 6pm hmm I called to verify the rx is ready. The normal phone recording was never received, just checking. 3. The very young female answered Walgreens she did not state her name nor did she want mine, I offered she declined stating the system is down. There's nothing we can, again I asked if she could manually check rx. No the system is down you will have to call another pharmacy. I tried to explain that this medication has to be order it's not stocked or self item. Again, I understand ma'am but the system is down. 4. I called the Forestville, Md store they do not have it. They pharmacist checked the system an could see that Clinton had the medication. So she suggested you might try going to the Clinton store to see if they can do a partial fill or a 2 or 5 day supply. 5. 6:30pm I arrived at the pharmacy they have the medication, they held two bottles up. I thought thank heaven I don't have to go to the ICU tonight. The lady with the red locks looks at me an states, the system is down you can not have this medication. It's now 6:45 I should be home by 7pm to releave the nurse. I asked for the pharmacist whom acted as if she really didn't care to deal with the situation. I can hear them making comments about how she's new an, they only have four hours left. She never really addresses me she put the concern off on the other person lady with the red locks. 7:15pm. I'm still at the pharmacy an this is now costing me $35.00 per hour to stand her an listen to say what they can't do an what I either should or need to do. Q. I stated why can't you call the other pharmacy in the area. A. I don't have there numbers!!! Wow I look up the number on my phone an gave it to them. They all stated the medication has to be ordered. I heard one lady state that mom said Takoma Park did not have it. I corrected her because that's not what I said. I'm am almost nuclear at this point. 6. 7:30 Wow they found another Walgreen's pharmacy in Hyattsville, Md that can fill the medicine for tonight. Q. I asked what time do they close? The next nurse does not arrive until 11pm I can pick it up then. A. Lady with the red locks replied 9pm. Now I have to call some one to try an get they by 9pm. 7. Before I can get out of the parking lot, Walgreens of Hyattsville called " Clinton transferred your rx to our location an we do not accept your insurance". Ok I have two insurance will you try the other? No ma'am we do not accept either. But I'll see what I can do, I'll call you back. 7:50pm I'm just getting home an I feel helpless. I have no medication regular to stop my daughter's seizure, options but to call 911an give back up diazepam. Walgreens you failed today. Once this is resolved I will never go to this store again. The staff in this pharmacy at Clinton, Md is by far the worst have ever experience... How much harmed would it have caused them to give a 1 or 2 day supply. You had the order from the doctor, the medication was previously processed by Walgreens an you even know that I had a zero co-payment. Walgreens fix this!!! This is the incident that got my blood boiling there was an "African" American woman as the management this specific night I was just a bystander to the what happened this white male and his son asked to use the restroom and the child looked as if he was going to burst at any moment she looked at the white male and his son and with the rudest facial reaction said "your need to get the code first" OKAY. so isn't that what that white man was trying to do??? it wasn't as if you were going to shot it out to him in the middle of the store!!! So carry your fat ass to the restroom with your customer and open the damn restroom up for that poor child. So a few aisle over there she was again but this time she was having a convo with an "African" American male and her whole attitude changed oh she was super sweet and kind to this customer I was dumbfounded I left my full cart and walked out of the store I was hoping to see the father and son to advise them that they didn't have to be treated in that manor instead I called up the Corporate office to let them know what I witnessed this was the second encounter of prejudice I have encountered in my few months of being in MD! If I could give this pharmacy a half or quarter star I would. In the last 6 months the quality of service for this particular location has drastically declined. The pharmacy's poor business processes and lack of good customer service are the primary reason for the low rating. Even after receiving a notification that my prescription is ready, I am routinely informed by the pharmacist assistant that the medication is either out of stock or it has not been filled (come back in 2 hours). I would rather drive five extra miles to another pharmacy that has their stuff together. I hate that I have to play the guessing game with this store. read more
