To come to the point - I went to Gateway on the opposite end of town from me, to look at another vehicle that ended up not being a good match for me, but, next to it was a Honda Pilot, little older, with some miles. Vehicle had some moderate work done yet, Ben offered this information without my even asking. Try getting THAT somewhere else!!! Perfect vehicle for my needs. Love it! Now it's time to talk money and I meet Ben, the co-owner and main sales force. The vehicle seemed to need a couple minor things to help make me comfortable with the purchase, and these were done, WITH a LOANER car, thanks to Ben. Dave at the front counter is Ben's right hand man, and very capable. Every employee I bumped into or interacted with at Gateway was at minimum professional, and as I understand it they are all ASE certified! Between them all, the agreed minor repairs were completed, my full smile installed, deal struck. A good deal. In closing, now many hundreds of miles later, my vehicle is running and behaving perfectly. I bought this at a fair price and Dave and Ben did what they said they would do, and did so respectfully and promptly. They handed me information NO used car seller would ever do, and kept their promises. I would not recommend anyone buy a used vehicle before looking at what Gateway has to offer. I took it to an auto body down the road and they were obviously trying to get me to agree the bumper needed replaced and it would take a day to fix. Went to Hallett and the owner came out and looked at it, turned to me and said "give me 5 minutes." He unscrewed a couple screws and had it fixed right there for free. Wouldn't even accept a tip. I'll be back here for any future issues. Dude was so cool and nice - I recommend anyone who needs their car looked at/worked on to take it to Hallett. 11/10 experience

He was patient, thorough and walked me through the initial inspection and explained where certain costs came into play. They did the work in the time quoted and in my case the actual cost was significantly lower than the estimate. I still need some chrome they couldn't find a match for but it wasn't part of the quote in the first place. I'm very happy with Dent Crafters. I hope I don't need another body shop but if I do they'll be my first call!

Unfortunately, during the service, the windshield was further damaged and ended up with a crack instead. Was notified of the damage by owners and offered to replace windshield at half cost. After discussion, it was agreed upon that the windshield would be replaced for free. They were able to get this accomplished fairly quickly within a week or so. (I thought it odd that a repair/replacement of a liner surrounding a tire didn't require the removal of the wheel, but it apparently doesn't.) I was a customer of Dave's and was disappointed to see that they had been taken over by B Street. However, I found the new shop to be very clean, attractive, modern (but with cool old automotive signs) and spacious, and the people are just as friendly and professional. The work got done as fast as possible and they took care of dealing with my insurance company when my insurance company was dropping the ball. I HOPE I never have to come back, since that means something bad has happened to my car but I would not hesitate to return to B Street - Irvington if that was the case. RECOMMENDED!

I stopped by this shop with a live person who answered the phone and the woman came out and gave me an estimate for repairs in less than 10 minutes. She was so kind and explained what was needed. The lady who hit me asked for another estimate. I went to another shop later in the day and the estimate was 30% higher!!

However, I must admit that the actual service failed to live up to this billing in any way shape or form. I went there to get an estimate on some body damage on my bumper. The woman working there informed I would need an entirely new bumper for some relatively minor damage, and I thought this was odd given three body shops in town had told me it was clearly repairable without replacement. She gave me an estimate that is literally 68 percent higher than that I received at two other Omaha body shops. When i told her that, she said, 'Well you better get in line there as fast as you can then,' and 'We couldn't even paint it for that.' To me, this is a blatant admission that you charge much more than other and are more than willing to admit to their potential customers before sending them out the door. I just don't understand that business strategy. To top it off, this woman was extremely rude and seemed like she could take or leave my business. With so many other body shops in Omaha, you'd think they'd want to acquire more clients by treating them nicely, but obviously this is not a priority of West Omaha Auto Body. The reviews are good (at least four of them) on Yelp, but I've since been told endless horror stories about dealing with them when I went to find a better price and a business that cared about my needs. I would urge you to seriously consider your options wholeheartedly when considering using West Omaha Auto Body. I don't want to be treated like my money and car doesn't matter, nor do I want other patrons to be given the same treatment.
