I had a new brake line put in my pu truck, a new rotor, and some minor stuff. They had my truck for 3 and a half days. Charged me 25 hundred. Of that 25 hundred, they charged me $1900 for labor. Highway robbery! I wouldn't recommend anyone to take their vehicle here! read more

Trustworthy service. There are probably cheaper places in town but quality work and good service have their own value. Randy, the shop manager, is a great guy to work with when scheduling and getting an understanding of what's going on with my cars. Takes a couple weeks to get in for Oil and filter changes but if you have an emergency of some kind they are good about quickly getting you in to least take a look and tell you what you're dealing with. read more

My stabilitrak light kept coming on, causing my car to slow down and other lights to come on. I took it to Auto Specialists and they called themselves fixing it. It continued to do it so I brought it back. Eventually Randy told me I should sell the car because it couldn't be fixed. I sold the car to a girl in my office and she took it to a guy who used to work for a car repair place and he fixed it. The part was $80. The car is still running and very well I may add. My husband took his car in for an oil leak. They charged him over 1800 and claimed all the leaks were fixed. He called the next day and told Randy it was still leaking and Randy told him to bring it back. Almost 2 weeks later Randy called my husband and told him they found the problem and it would be $500 and $300 for labor. Why would he have to pay more when they charged him for fixing the problem, but didn't fix the problem. We are very disappointed and will NEVER take any of our vehicles there again. They definitely took us for a ride. If you have money to burn, this is definitely the place to take your vehicle, but if you want it done right, stay away from Auto Specialists. read more

Randy was personable. the mechanic after working on my vehicle, did not indicate verbally any issues other than low tire pressure and unsure of leak. No comments about fluid levels, battery, brakes etc and n indication they had been checked. We live in a world to assume nothing. Got home and oil leaking. took back in and gasket apparently cracked per Randy. I later called to ask if I could bring my car in to check the battery., due to uncertainty of being checked recently. That question wasn't answered, after brief discussion, Randy told me I should replace the battery, age unknown. Needless to say won't be going back there. read more

I drove with my daughter from Kansas City for the day to get her moved into her new dorm at Creighton. We started having car trouble as we got close to Omaha. I called so many auto repair places, but everyone was closed for the holiday weekend. Thank goodness this place was open. Ethical beyond anything you would expect. Honest and very competent. Randy has built a wonderful team here. This place is worth its weight in gold. Honest, ethical good people. I work with two large families that have generations of people that take their cars here. They recently did the exact same thing to my car that my dealership wanted to do and did it for $500 less! I was so happy I almost cried. The only thing to remember is that they are generally 1 to 1.5 weeks out for appointments, which is a good sign, a busy shop is a good shop. It's so worth the wait. I promised myself to tell this story as often as possible. I took my 2009 F-150 into a competitor last week for an oil change (The competitor rhymes with Jenson Tire). As Jenson usually does, they "suggested" a few other services that they felt should be done along with the cost for each service. One service that I felt needed to be done right away was replacing the tranny pan, filter, and gasket. The company I work for does business on occasion with Auto Specialists and my boss suggested I call Randy. Randy seems to be very personable and honest. We talked over the phone about the service and he gave me a quote. Without knowing what Jensen quoted me, Randy came in $98 cheaper. And they had it ready to pick up before noon. Randy and his guys are amazing! So honest, never urging a repair that is unnecessary! It was recommended by a friend and I rave to everyone about them. Dealerships and oil change companies have told me a few times I need things repairs that cost 400-2000 dollars. I go run it by Randy and am told that either nothing needs to be done and don't charge me a dime....or one thing that costs 100 or less is all I need. They wait until my brakes really need replacing before recommending it. Best place in town, hands down. I have always had problems with shoddy mechanics. The experience I've had here over the past couple years has been nothing like before. They are friendly, quick, and very reasonably priced. They are the types of mechanics who will be completely honest with you about fixing things that need to be fixed, and not fixing things that don't need to be fixed. I had my breaks changed and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was working correctly, and put my safety first in my situation. I do as much of my own auto repair as I can. When it's something I don't have the time or skill to tackle, I take it to Auto Specialists. I've been taking vehicles there for around 5 years, and they've consistently been honest, helpful, and reasonable. I've used them for minor and major work, including rebuilding a transmission. There have been several times when the problem turned out to be a cheap and simple fix, and they were straight with me instead of seizing the opportunity to make up a problem and charge me more.
