I'm sharing events that happened and you can judge. I brought my Ford truck in to get a second opinion about the VCT system beginning to fail and to see if they could do better on the price. I ended up paying $5,582 to get this system replaced here. Higher than the estimate I had at another place. I assumed this is the work that actually needed done. The work started in mid February. They were great about messaging me at first. I received a loaner for one day for the time the truck was there approx. 2 weeks. As soon as I get my truck to drive it is making cold start acceleration rattles just like before I brought it in. I reached out to them about it using their texting number that we had communicated on before. It took about a week to get a response due to some kind of circumstances going on with the advisors there. They were puzzled as to why it didn't work. I took a video and sent it to them that in fact was still doing it. I drop off my truck March 13 to have them check their "Guaranteed" work. I get a loaner car from them by March 18. The car was an equinox that was barely drivable and dropped oil in my driveway. On one occasion I was afraid it was going to overheat and shut down at a stoplight. Not to mention the extreme shuddering it made at 45 mph. I took it back the next day. They didn't seem to believe me so we got one of the mechanics to drive it and he said it shouldn't be driven. They had no replacement loaner for me. The truck was finished this time March 27th. I was unable to pick it up. They offered to drive it to me on Monday the 30th but the person driving it had sounds happening again so they decided to keep it. Now suddenly it is a hub assembly problem and needed a transfer case replacement. They are fixing it for free since it was during the time they had it. I wonder how could a hub assembly suddenly go bad? I don't know. I got the truck later in the week again with no loaner vehicle. I get the truck and April 2nd it made the cold start acceleration sounds again. Its the same parts they had worked on. I was unsure if I wanted to bring it to them yet again or take it someplace else. Plus, they didn't have a good working loaner for me. All the while the truck keeps making the noise. I brought it back April 13th. They got it done Wednesday April 29th. Again, no loaner car for me during this time. As soon as I turn it on an orange wrench appeared on my screen. I turned it off and back on and it was still there. I drove the truck to my home in Omaha and yes, the sound came back again. I texted them about it the following morning on Thursday. They said sorry and they would get back to me. Friday came and went. Monday I texted them that I had scheduled my truck to go to Baxter Ford to fix their work. They promised me a loaner and to come get the truck. By May 7th I gave up. My truck sits in the driveway with an orange wrench on my dash screen until May 13th at my appt. with another place. read more

Exceptional service during a stressful time! We were on a cross-country road trip when our Ford Escape started having serious turbo issues. Despite being far from home and on a tight schedule, the team here went above and beyond to help us out. Jason, our technician, was incredibly thorough and clearly explained what was going on with the turbo system and vacuum pump. Jill at the front desk was friendly, organized, and kept us informed every step of the way. They got us in quickly, diagnosed the problem, and made sure we were safely back on the road. Look at negative reviews. The common thread is dishonesty. You have been warned. Following are facts that I would take a polygraph on that reiterate all the negative reviews. 1. Charged $8650 on work that was not authorized, and failed to do the work I wanted. I wanted the front repainted, they painted the trunk. I wanted badges swapped that they never did after we talked about this over 10 times. Guess $8650 couldn't get badges swapped. 2. Car was supposed to be there 1.5 months. The car was there over 6 months. Does that sound legitimate? 3. Car was stored outside with windows down and top down. Interior was destroyed. Will post photos if allowed. 4. Left over 40 messages for owner to call me over 4 months, he would not which says everything about this business. 5. Caught salesman driving the car on public streets and then pulling into the shop. 6. Was charged $3500 for labor to install a blower motor for a heater. I never authorized that amount. I also had to get the motor. Why would anyone spend nearly 4 grand on a blower motor for a car that is worth about 8 grand? 7. Repeatedly lied to by service advisor. Told me after 2 months the mechanical work was done, and then found the car completed disassembled. will post pics. 8. None of the work actually done or was done correctly, and already is scheduled to go to an honest shop this time. They worked on stuff that I did not want instead of doing the repairs requested? 9. After paying for the repairs, still could not get car, because it supposedly was going to be "detailed", 4 days later, it was not even properly washed. Will post photos. You will be better off doing anything with your car, than taking it to this place. read more

We had a very disappointing experience purchasing a 2006 Chevy Express van from this dealership. At the time of sale, we were verbally told that the "as-is" paperwork we signed was only related to prior body damage. Two days after purchase, the van began experiencing serious transmission issues. Within three days, it would no longer shift into second gear or go into reverse. A licensed mechanic in Wyoming inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the transmission was completely dry of fluid and showed signs of a long-term leak, including transmission fluid burned onto and adhered to the transmission pan. We were advised that this condition could not have developed in just a few days and was present prior to purchase. After discussing this with the dealership, we were initially led to believe there would be monetary assistance with the repair. That agreement was later withdrawn. This was a costly and stressful experience involving a major mechanical failure almost immediately after purchase. Based on our experience, we would not purchase another vehicle from this dealership and encourage others to proceed with caution. read more

Had a great experience at Unique Auto today. Went there due to a sudden and mysterious mileage drop on my 95' Astro camper van. Was greeted by a very friendly and super knowledgeable mechanic named Ted, who, perhaps simply out of a mix of curiosity and generosity, proceeded, without charge, to test drive it, run some tests, and do light some tinkering, spending some solid time trying to troubleshoot an issue that's eluded others recently. Sadly no "smoking gun" was yet found, but he did a meticulous job outlining my options were I to schedule an appt to go deeper into testing for vacuum leaks, worn out cat converters, etc... The shop vibe overall was one of real professionalism. And they had some seriously stunning vintage rare cars in the lot. Looks like they're well-known by car collectors for knowing the ins/outs of old engines as well as new ones. I couldn't recommend this place more! I'm only sorry that I couldn't tip Ted - didn't have any cash on me at the time. read more

If I could write a negative review I would. I'm a young kid who's about to take off for college & needed a reliable car. I searched for weeks & found a pretty decent deal at Unique Auto, so I decided to go look at the vehicle. We set up a time to view the car, upon arrival the vehicle wasn't cleaned, had trash all over inside & a strong oder of cigarettes. I wasn't expecting it to be in brand new condition but you'd think they'd had the audacity to clean up the vehicle if a potential client was coming to look at it? Proceeded to purchase the vehicle anyways. Within 2 weeks the vehicle was in the shop with issues. After a week or so of back & forth with Unique auto, the vehicle was fixed by our local Hyundai dealer. Unique auto didn't offer to help with the expenditures the vehicle was experiencing after only a week of driving. Paid for tow as the vehicle broke down on me in the middle of the road on the way to work. I work overnights so I was stranded at 12am in the morning. Then paid the deductible to have the vehicle fixed of $500. Maybe a week possible two, the vehicle wound up in the shop again. This time needing an ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. The warranty company then deny my claim due to a "lack of maintenance." Reminder you the salesman Arnie ensured me the extended warranty would cover any & all major components for my $500 deductible. I haven't even made a first payment & the vehicle is already needing a new engine. The best the dealership can do is tell me to "file for hail damage to total the car out." Unwilling to help out in any way imaginable. I will be proceeding with legal actions to explore what options I have. You'd expect a dealership would want to take care of its clients & help out a bit but that's not the case at Unique Auto. A young college kids first buying experience & also my first major hit to my credit completely ruined due to the simple facts of the dealership selling faulty cars & unwilling to help out. Initially I had every intention of sharing my awesome experience with Unique Auto, Inc in Omaha and sharing the listing of my Subaru when it was available for anyone looking for a great car that I've put a lot of work into and is a great buy. Now I'm putting them on blast instead. DO NOT buy my SubyDoo from these people. It's a great car, yes, but I bought it 3.5 years ago for $8999 in Minneapolis with 122k miles. It now has 153k miles and they gave me $3000 for my trade because it "needed work." Which honestly, I thought was fair because the car ONLY BOOKS AT $8900 MAX at a dealership, more like $7000 private party. They listed it at $13,995. These guys are clowns, look elsewhere. I guess to give them at least 2 stars out of 5, I do love my new ride lol. But seriously folks, do your research before buying cars. Print out your KBBs and print out your NADAs. Bring them with you. She was really nice and understood the situation. I might give them another chance for sure. Thank you for showing that you value customer experience ************* My low rating of Unique Auto is because of overcharging and poor customer service. I took my 2008 BMW to the service station. I explicitly stated that the check engine light is because of crankshaft position sensor issue and I want it fixed. I was charged for two separate items. One $150 for check engine light diagnostics and two, ~$220 for the sensor replacement. So couple of things, one I had clearly outlined what the issue was and I didn't need any diagnostic, so $150 for CEL is unreasonable. Second, the sensor's bolt was loose. So I was charged ~1.5hr labor to tighten a bolt, the sensor wasn't required to be replaced. Inquire anywhere, google the issue and it will be evident that bolt tightening on the sensor is not worth ~$220. So I was charged for non-requested diagnostic and bloated price for the repair. The second part: poor customer service. I highlighted all the above issue to the person who handed me the car. After discussion, the person agreed that my argument made sense and he promised me a call back after talking to the manager irrespective of whether I get a refund or not. It has been 2 weeks and I haven't received a call back. As a paying and concerned customer, either agree with me or explain me why I am not right. But not honoring your word is not right. I am definitely not taking my car back to the garage. An advice to all, ensure you are clearly discussing the issue and agree on the services. read more

In my opinion it is almost impossible to find an auto repair shop that you an trust. It seems that once you take your car to a shop, it's all down hill, you end up taking it back repeatedly for different things that suddenly start breaking. BUT, no at Unique Auto, their work is thorough and they are trustworthy. The first time I took my truck to them, it was because of an error my truck was throwing, they took a look and said the Error was anomaly and the part it was saying was bad wasn't, but if I get the error again, to let them know. Any other shop would have replaced the part. I've since taken my husbands truck and my truck back (completely different issue) and the price is always reasonable, they explain what they did and what the cause and they stand completely behind their work. Everyone in the shop is super friendly and helpful. A few weeks ago we took my husbands truck for some work and we needed to have the truck back by the weekend because we had a camping trip planned. The people in the shop worked overtime in order to get our truck done in time. I was super impressed and I will NEVER take out trucks anywhere else. If you need any work, from an oil change to body repair, they do it all and they do it well. You will not be disappointed. read more

My vehicle's cabin was smelling like rotten eggs and the battery was dead. luckily I live right next to Unique Auto, one of the employees who was super cool came to my parking space down the street, jumped my car and brought it to the shop. Everyone was super polite, concise, and honest. I was thinking that i'd need a whole new catalytic converter or a transmission flush but they quickly, i'm talking within an hour, found out that the battery in my volvo was 2 sizes too small, and it was burning diodes and creating the smell. So they quickly replaced my battery and everything was so fast and surprisingly affordable that I will take all of my cars to Unique Auto from now on, they took very good care of me here and I am very grateful. read more

I just bought my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee from unique Auto. It is a great clean car runs exactly and I have no problems with it. I also bought an extended warranty for 20 years. So if I have any issues with the car I shouldn't pay out of my pocket. And this includes new brakes. Who sense of extended warranty without breaks unique Auto does. Besides, buying vehicles, you can get anything done on your car from oil change brakes a new engine. Unique Auto will do it and Vince will just smile at you and tell you what's up and what needs to be done and no BS around it. He would tell you straight up and he will not sugar coat it and he will not exaggerate the problems. Vince will give you the straight honest truth. The body shop people are awesome people. I don't talk to them that often but they are great and when I had to deal with a incident they were able to fix my car. So again unique Auto is a great place. I looked at these yelp reviews before I had my Cadillac towed to Unique Auto. I was impressed with the 4.5 star review and it wasn't too far from my house so an added bonus. Those stars and the stories placed here defiantly deceived me! In a nut shell after 2.5 days there at the shop the situation with my car was still not resolved. I was advised a part needed to be ordered and I was told they wanted to keep my car another 5 days to wait for the part. I went to the shop to speak further with the "Master Mechanic" about my car and to try to understand what was going on with it on my way home from work. The "Master Mechanic couldn't of been more rude. He wouldn't even look at me and walked away when I tried to speak with him. I noticed scratches on my mirror and trunk/bumper area that was not there before going to Unique Auto (I took picture of my car before it went). So clearly no protective padding was used while working in my trunk and their was no paper floor mat's placed in my car to protect my custom floor mat's from grease and grime from shoes and the shops floor either. I have no clue why there was scratches on my mirror. While paying for the tow and diagnostic test since they didn't have parts to fix the other issue I looked in my truck and seen that the safety strap was broke on my battery. I was told it came there like that. When I told the female cashing me out No, it wasn't broke and offered to show her my pictures she went and asked the "Master Mechanic" (that was the title everyone kept calling the mechanic) he admitted to breaking it but I strongly feel that information wasn't never going to be offered to me. I'm sure. That part was supposed to be ordered that they broke and the part needed for my car to fix the issue why I had my car there in the first place however today would be the 6th business days since I took my car from the shop and I have yet to be contacted advising the parts are in for me to pick up. I'm questioning if I will ever get that call to be honest at this point because they was not pleased I took my car home that day any ways. I also found it highly unprofessional that the female cashing me out talked about driving the different cars around that was in the shop. I sure hope there was an agreement for that to be done with the owners of those vehicles. I ended up taking my car to the Cadillac dealer to get fixed correctly and in a timely manner. I will say on a positive note the go between gentlemen, Brian, that I would speak on the phone with relaying what the "Master Mechanic" was telling him was very kind and informative. She also stated right off the bat that they charge $100.00 diagnostic fee . I'm sure these are good guys, but they weren't honest with us. Sadly, very typical shop where they were overconfident and cocky about their abilities. They quoted us on a transmission rebuild for 15 hours and it took them over a week. Each day they said it would be done the next and sent us text messages instead of a phone call when it wasn't ready. Very unprofessional. We had a deadline they agreed on. We told them we would take it elsewhere if they didn't feel comfortable working on it. They assured us they could handle it. We missed our own wedding because of it. read more

They were honest with me and instead of saying there was more wrong with the van than what was actually wrong they tighten the cable and I was on my way. *****WARNING**** THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!I had to have multiple motors put in my vehicle Within two months time had 3 Motors put in my vehicle due to faulty Motors that they were putting in there. They would have my vehicle weeks at a time which would leave me without a vehicle and I had to run to one or two they refuse to reimburse me. That costed need more money. On the last time I took my vehicle and then they did something to my vehicle which cause my transmission to go out. It would not ever take my vehicle to the shop again. read more

Bought used truck because my old car needed way too many repairs. They assured me that I should buy from them because they go through all their vehicles before selling. Bought and two weeks later found out it needed almost 900.00 in repairs from it being sold with problems. The bearings were repacked, a 'new' power steering pump, and the brakes were redone among other things. About 6 months later the bearings failed causing me 1200.00 in damage. Today I find out that the NEW power steering pump was not even replaced - it's the same one. I was told after the initial repairs were done that it would whine like it did before as this is what the manufacturer stated. read more
