I will no longer use Leopold Red Dot sights. After my third DeltaPoint Pro, I noticed that while shooting, the red dot often turns on and off at will. Sometimes it stays off until I take the next shot. Other times, it remains off for the next six shots. I might fire five or six rounds without the dot. It's not worth risking my life or someone else's. Also, way too expensive for this lack of quality. Very bad for the company. Very disappointing. I also attempted multiple brands of batteries. So far I've owned many Leupold scopes and they were reliable over the years and only one needs to be sent in under warranty after 20 years. Wire reticle finally gave up. Recently purchased their top of the line made in USA Leupold Santiam BX-5 27-55x80 spotter and all I can say is WOW it's actually clearer than my old Swarovski ST-80 I paid a lot more money for back in the day. I can't imagine how a more expensive spotter can possibly be clearer than this top of the line Leupold. Only nit pick is the eye relief is really close, similar to my Swarovski at maximum magnification and long eyelashes literally butterfly kiss the eyepiece lens. read more

Own a RX-1400i TBR/W and the eyecup fell off on a recent hunting trip. I was a little worried about them not supporting the repair because of the several one star google reviews related to them not supporting range finders but they treated me great. I submitted a warranty request through the online system in which they wanted me to send in the rangefinder for repair, but hunting season just started and the range finder still works without the eyecup so I wanted to hang on to it and have them just send me the eyecup. I called them up and they agreed to send eyecup no questions asked. Great products and a great company, I am glad they decided to give the same level of customer support for their rangefinders that they do for the scopes. I was debating between a VX-5HD and another companies scope and this experience helped me make up my mind in favor of the Leupold. read more

I'm sure you have heard of companies that used to exist that stood behind their products no matter what. Well I have never seen a company like this until now. Leupold & Stevens is one of those mythical companies. 7 years - yes 7 years after a product broke after heavy use, they replace it, no questions asked. Not only that, THEY paid for return shipping and replaced it with a new model with improved specs. It also came with a few extra cool stuff the original didn't have at all. The product I purchased was a Range Finder for golf and the first one lasted much longer than all of my friends products which were from different companies. I have no doubt this next replacement will last for years as well. At this point, I can't recommend anyone other than Leupold & Stevens for golf range finders because it would be stupid to recommend any other product. This company is amazing and really exemplifies how a company could be when done right. I forgot to say, the performance of the first range finder was as good or better than any other one I have tried. Awesome company! read more

Set back a Range finder and thermal monocular for repair. Was told the range finger was out of warranty and they would give me 60% of MSRP for another unit. The problem with the range finder was poor quality LEDs, several of the LEDs did not light. Leupold you have made me a loyal Zeiss customer. I will never buy another Leupold product. read more

Wifey bought me an RX-1000i TBR about 5 years ago. I literally just took it out of the safe to use hunting this year. First time!!! The display is bad. Can barely read the middle and the perimeter is worst. Tried new battery.... same. Called Leupold, no help, just got a lecture about the display is OLED and doesn't last but a few years and they won't help. I was told ALL rangefinders will end up that way. What!?!? It might be a few years old but it's freaking brand new! These should be sold like food with an expiration date on them! 4 or 5 hundred dollars and you didn't even get to use it. Piece of Sh%$. I digested what I was told, then I realized I had a pair of Vortex Diamondback binoculars that I messed up and it was my fault, I ran over them with my Jeep, yet Vortex fixed/repaired anyway. So I called them and asked about their rangefinders. They said "no problem" if it was Vortex, just send it in and we would repair or replace. Wow. I think all of my optics will be Vortex from now on. They are quality too. I always thought, "it's Leupold, oooh, it's gotta be good" pfff. Even if the optics are good, the name can be ruined beyond repair by lack of customer support. read more

I purchased my first Leopold scope in 1979, a VX-3, 3.5 x 10 - 40 mm with an adjustable objective. I've purchased several Leupolds since then. I will not purchase any other scopes except Leupold. All are high quality. I don't live too far from the factory, so if I have a concern I just stop in. They are always very polite and professional. Last year I mentioned how the scope I purchased in 1979 still works like a charm. They insisted I should have it checked to make sure it is still 100%, so I brought my scope to them later that month. One week later I received my scope delivered to my door via UPS, delivery free. It was completely rebuilt by the Leupold Custom Shop. They upgraded every component to as high of quality their Custom Shop could offer. It is a remarkable scope, much better than when I purchased it 38 years ago in 1979. I am not sure if there are any original parts remaining. They listed all the stuff they did to it. How much did they charge me to do all of this custom work? FREE - LIFETIME WARRANTY. I still have the original rifle I purchased with my scope in 1979. It is just now, that rifle and scope combination I have used for 38 years, is even better then before. I inherited my grandpas rifle which had an at least 40 year old Leupold mk-2 3-9x40 on it. The knobs quit making adjustments so I sent it in to Leupold for their infamous warranty service, I attached my contact information and a target I had shot up. The only verification that it was delivered was my tracking number from ups. After a month of silence from Leupold I called them, the person on the phone wasn't very polite and didn't seem to care about me as a customer. I was informed that they couldn't fix the scope and would have to send me a replacement but couldn't get a hold of me (even though I gave them my mailing address, email, and phone number). So after I put in all the leg work, they are sending me a new vx-2 3-9x40. Leupold as a company is great, their warranty on quality optics is what keeps them in business, but their customer service is terrible. You'd think that a company that buys their employees hunting licenses, game tags, nra memberships, product discounts, on top of all the standard health benefits and retirement plans would have happier customer service reps. If they fixed that, they would be a 5 star company. read more

I recently attended the Leupold Optics Precision Long Range academy with instructor Michael Baccellieri. I own Leupold products, and after the class I will never buy a different scope again. As a competitive 3Gun, and PRS shooter it is absolutely vital I have reliable and repeatable optic platform. Leupold is the only company I will trust from here on out. I actually went back to the hotel after the first night of class and sold my Vortex Razor HD II scope to a buddy. Michael loaned me a Mark 6 3-18 with an H59 reticle for the remainder of the class. With that Mark 6 on my 6.5 Creedmoor AR10 I shot a Target at 1mile on 14 power. That little Mark 6 Scope was an absolutely stunning optic. It had high clarity, it was extremely light, and compact. I am purchasing that optic here soon. Michael, Tyson, and JR are the best shooting instructors I have ever had the pleasure of training with. My skill set after the class has expanded exponentially, and I am a higher caliber of shooter now because of what I learned. The scope information, and dope info alone was well worth it. i have had a few dealings with LEUPOLD, one were i sent in a mark4, and received it back less than 2 weeks, results were outstanding, i purchased a leupold base and std. rings for my browning SA 22, i had some problems with to much eye relief, i talked to gentlemen at leupold and he sent me extension rings to solve the eye relief issue, (NO CHARGE), i took the kids to BEN AVERY, shooting range for NRA training, and one of the students misplaced the bikini cover for the LEUPOLD 2X7X28 rimfire scope , i called leupold to purchase a replacement bikini cover and they sent a replacement at no charge, i can attest to LEUPOLDS outstanding customer service, ands will continue to purchase LEUPOLD products, thank you LEUPOLD read more

Purchased a Leupold VX-1 3-9x40 from OpticsPlanet about 6 months ago. My first scope for my M1A. Used it a few times and didn't think anything of how the elevation and windage knobs were working. But after buying another scope from a different manufacturer, I noticed the second scope's knobs turned with a more crisp click and stop than the ones on the Leupold. I tried an altogether different scope at a gun store and again...a crisp click and stop between the settings. The knobs on the Leupold feel mushy, don't click clearly and don't stop exactly between clicks. Sometimes even passing through a couple of stops without really feeling the clicks or stops. I called Leupold about this and the person I spoke with didn't seem to think there was a problem. He told me if I wanted to send it back they would charge me for resetting the knobs. WHAT ??? Leupold is supposed to have a lifetime guarantee. I told him it came like this out of the box and because it was my first scope I didn't know there was a problem until I used a couple of scopes from different manufacturers. He said if it was like that out of the box then that's probably the way its supposed to be. NO ITS NOT ! Bad product and bad Leupold customer service. Oh, and he told me that because its hunting season if I did send it in it would be 4-6 weeks before I got it back. They must have a lot of defective scopes ! read more
